That is terrible and our prayers are with the family of the president. There was not a bit of disrespect towards the president or the school. There wasnt even disrespect towards the team. I was just stating my opinion about the program from what I have witnessed first hand and through watching games. No they are not, they have increased enrollment but not near enough to have to move up. We have somewhere around 450 kids. I dont know what the limit is but I would guess in the 600s or 700s but that is just a guess.

66 to 6 in two years and two games. Wow that must feel terrible to be on the other end of those two beatings. The game was awesome and went much like every Alcoa fan thought it would. People from GP thought that all the talk was not true and we were going to get upset this year. Little did they know what they were getting themselves into suiting up against the Mighty Tornadoes. Cobb, Robinson, Hodge, and Thompson were awesome. The O and D lines dominated the entire night as well. We just are on another level. GP might want to think about moving up to 3A so maybe they could win a Gold ball for a change. I mean they did beat the #1 team in 3A so that is good for them. But as long as they are in the same division as Alcoa they will continually be a mediocar 2A team that plays in an over rated district and region. I just have no good feelings toward GP and their lack of character on the football field. The way #22 was strutting around on the field after some of those plays was pathetic. They were getting killed, he should have been worried about the score more than showboating. I love how much better Alcoa is than GP and always will be. Alcoa has an amazingly bright future and might not loose for at least three more years besides to Maryville in 4A. Congrats to the Tornadoes and all the players. You all had a great year and represented Alcoa football to the fullest.

I would know what they are basing their statements on because they didnt give any personal experience and we Are On Coacht so it sounds like you might not be reading very well. Anyways, it is about the kids and we are talking about a football game not grades or anything else. Quit trying to bring up something that doesnt have to do with football to make yourselves feel better about your mediocar 2a team. It is just kind of funny how that all the GP people get on here and get so offended and upset about the posts by Alcoa people. Instead of telling all of us not to put others down and all this other sentimental stuff they should just stink it up and get on here to defend their team. They (GP posters) instead would rather get on here and tell everyone from Alcoa how disrespectful and arrogant blah blah blah they are. I really wish that we (Alcoa Fans) could get on here, talk about our team and how good we are, without being bothered by all these GP posters complaining. Like I have said before the way to remedy the trash talking is to do something about it on the football field. The reason that we get on here and trash talk is because we have had bad experiences with the team and fans. So it is so enjoyable for us to dominate you all every year in the state and talk trash on Coacht about it. I wish that you all (GP posters) would quit being so sensitive and realize that this is a board where trash talk is allowed and have fun with it. Alcoa by a lot like always. Let me get this straight, you are basing the statement "no one respects alcoa and everyone respects maryville" based on some trash talk on Coacht. I believe that you may be a little dillusional if you think that a majority of people in the state even know that there is such a thing as Coacht. I believe that the GP fans are the only fans that have a problem with Alcoa because we continuously spoil your season. Everyone else in the state knows what kind of program and tradition that we have besides you all because you cant beat us. Dont get mad at a little trash talk from some fans on Coacht. Just except and go with the flow. It is all in good fun but you people from GP get so uptight about things. The way that you could stop some of the trash talk would be to put up a fight against us. Just come out on Friday and show that you all belong on the same field and we will give you all some respect. The kids from GP have had some good seasons but they just aren't on the same level. If you have ever come to Alcoa you would know that we have some of the nicest facilities and fans around. You would be treated with the upmost respect and allowed to cheer for your team hassel free. On the other hand I played for alcoa in 2000 and 2001 and the GP players were some of the worst sports that I have ever played against. They didn't not quit talking and had several personal foul penalties throughout both games. So if anyone has the right to get on here and do a little trash talking it would be us. Revenge is sweet. Don't get mad that I am simply stating my opinion because all year every team except for Maryville of course and Cak have looked like 1a teams compared to the Tornadoes. I think that the coaching staff is better than your alls and that we will simply make you look like you should be in a different league. Thats all there is no disrespect just stating how I feel. Torando, I believe he is talking about the University of Pitt and their upset over West Virginia. He obviously does not understand that this is a highschool football message board and is a little confused. It doesnt matter what or who they bring on Friday, they dont know what they are in for. It is going to be awesome to see the mighty Tornadoes on that turf doing their thing. The speed that Alcoa plays with is on another level and this game will probably resemble the last 13 games and be over by halftime. It is going to be great to watch Cobb, Hodge, Toney, and Thompson on Friday. They will show GP what true speed is. I believe that Tyler Robinson could have a really big night as well. That turf will play into his favor. He runs really good routes anyways and on turf they will be even more crisp. I believe that GP will look like a 1a team with the lack of speed and coaching. I am not on here belittling anyone, I am just stating the way I feel about a particular program and school. I have no ill will towards any of the players, I am just stating how that I believe that Alcoa is on another level and it is EXTREMELY satisfying to see us put them out every year. I wouldn't mind to see us beat them every year in the finals for the next ten years. There is a little trash talk but it is all in good fun. There will be no miracle. This talk on here sounds familiar (DCA posts). If I were your team I would just pray that for some reason none of the starters play and half of the second teamers dont play. You all got beat by DCA who is not even better than our third place team in our region. I mean you think about it. This isnt college and this ALCOA you are playing. We don't get beat by people that we are supposed to beat bottom line. You all will be on the other end of a 35 point beat down and mybe more. Sorry just keep hoping but its not going to happen. Here we go again. Unfortunately for GP. It is going to be sad the beat down that they are going to take on Friday. It could get really ugly. Words cant describe how fun it is to continously ruin GPs season. They are dreading the trip down to the boro I can guarantee it. I think if Rankin doesn't call off the dogs Alcoa will be able to pick the score that they want to win by. If DCA be GP for any reason then I will promise you that the only way GP could win would be a miracle. I bet they are getting tired of seeing so many silver balls in that trophy case. The turf field is just a nightmare for GP. The speed of the Tornadoes is amazing and on turf WOW. Cobb will have 3 touchdowns passing, one running, and maybe an interception. Hodge will have minimum 2 TDs and Thompson 2 picks and 2 TDs. I cant wait for the rest of the state to get to see how good we are this year and how dominate once again we will be. Well it looks like all the Alcoa fans were correct about what they thought would happen. Its a great thing to be a Tornado. DCA would probably be the third best team in our region. I thought that the other region was better and the that all the teams over there were really good. Well anyways, I guess that is not true and Alcoas region is just as good wowwww. That is sad. The speed was just too much to handle. The atmospere and pressure of the game really got to DCA but even if it hadn't I do not think that the outcome would have been any different. We just are on another level like I said in some previous posts. Congrats to DCA though for making it to the fourth round. They played hard but were just not near good enough. I saw a bunch of Alcoa players out there with a lot of HEART. I can't wait until we go back to the boro and spoil GPs chances once again. I have no good things to say about them. I hope we beat them 60-0 and then rub it in their faces. They are some of the worst attitude people I have ever been around. I can't believe that DCA beat them. You are right. We have never been really strong in the kicking game and this year we have an excellent kicker. If our team would have had a good kicker we would have been even better. Well never mind you can't get better than 15-0 can you. Well anyways I was just wandering if you have seen DCA play and if they can hang. If they have a good passing game, they might need to holler at you and put on lanxters old jersey to give them some support in that secondary. hahaha. That sounds like a hallmark card. I would guess that you have never played football and never been apart of a championship team. But like I said that is just a guess. No former player that has been a part of a winning team or maybe even a losing team would not be upset off and dissappointed when they don't win. Think about any team that you know of on any level that has a history of winning. And then ask yourself why they win and if they are proud of themselves if they loose. I played in 2000 and 2001 and went 27-2. I will tell you this, I have never been as dissappointed then after the two losses that I had. And I know that there wasn't one teammate that I had that wasn't just as dissappointed. I know that people around us in the community expected us to win. No, they weren't going around and telling everybody that they were dissappointed in the team but they were dissappointed because their expectations were the exact same as ours. And I know that they dont play but attitude, support, and expectations play a role in how the team performs. So with all that said go Tornadoes. ps. You might want to try to get a job will hallmark.

That is not a smug post it is just stating facts. I am not trying to put you all down I am just saying that you all are not on the same level as Alcoa and don't think that you will be any time soon. No but the players know the expectations and know the tradition that they are trying to live up to. I will guarantee it if they were to get beat there would be no need for anyone to tell them that they are dissappointed in them because they would be crushed and mad at themselves. If we were to get beat, it would be a huge shock and dissappointment. That is why we have 8 gold balls and have such a dominant program. The players, teachers, coaches, families, and community all expect to win it every year. Maybe if DCA had those type of expectations then they could develope into a pretty good program as well. Everybody knows that DCA is very happy that they made it to the 4th round of the playoffs. But for Alcoa anything less than a state championship is unsatisfactory. I havent seen DCA play this year but I cant imagine another team in 2a being able to beat the mighty Tornadoes. I have seen GP play and it will be a long night for them in the boro if they make it there. DCA will have to play flawless and Alcoa will have to be mistake ridden for Alcoa to loose. I agree. People have been hating on Alcoa and Maryville about recruiting for years. It is ridiculous and it all boils down to jealousy like you said. It is nice living in the football capital of TN and being apart of a championship football team like Alcoa. I love the fact that blount county has two teams that are the premier teams in the state in their respected classifications seperated by a river. Go Tornadoes and good luck Maryville.

Ok lets think about this a little bit. Hmmmmmmm. Ok, Alcoa has won the last three 2a championships while playing all those teams that you have just named off. So I think that your argument is not qualified because it doesnt matter who beats who in the regular season. Alcoa has proved for three straight years and 4 out of the last 6 years that they are the best in the state in 2a period. What makes you think that this years schedule is an indicator that Alcoa is going to be put to the test on friday night. I will guarantee that every one of our state championship wins not including in 2000 have been against teams that have had much harder regular seasons. But it doesn't matter. We prove every year that we are in a class of our own and there are only a hand full of teams in the state disregarding classification that can beat the mighty Tornadoes. In the last three years they have only lost to Maryville three times and Fulton once. The only teams that can beat them or even have a chance are the teams that can win state championships.

I have a bad feeling that it wont matter what team makes it from the west they will be destroyed when they meat the might tornadoes from Alcoa. It must be bad knowing that the east is so dominate over the west and has much better players and coaches. Go ALCOA.

Even Ray Charles would be able to know how much better Cobb is than Joey ever was or thought about being. According to smarterpersonalive, Joey if not for his poor grades, would have been the starting qb for USC and would have won the heisman his freshman year. Joey was a pretty good high school quaterback but he is no where near the level of Cobb. There wasn't one big name school recruiting him seriously. He could throw the ball pretty good but had no running ability. He wasn't the best decision making qb either. Cobb has it all. He is the complete package. If Alcoa didn't have a class act coach like Rankin and still had coach Reid he would have re-written all the records for qbs in 2a and in the state. Just go to an Alcoa game and watch the difference between a good qb (Joey Feigler) and a great qb and leader (Randall Cobb). I hope that this message can help you understand the facts. You may need to watch a little more football so that you can know what true D 1 talent is. Michael George was even better than Joey.

Hey I heard something on the rumor mill and was wandering if anyone could confirm or deny this. The word is that Hoover High in Alabama contacted Rankin about a coaching position. Does anyone know anything about this. The Hoover coach was fired not to long ago.
