  1. Uncle Dave has 3 boys and 2 girls...all of them are good atheletes. That may also be because their grandfather was an All American from Florida State!
  2. "I knew Roland had done well and I am not surprised. David Carter was one of the most hardest competitors I ever saw and was a heck of a nice guy." I agree that David Carter is a nice guy...He's my uncle. Would you believe that he has 5 kids and is the welding teacher at Hickman County High school?
  3. Here is the roster for that year (1973): Steve Hooper, Gayle Luther, Donald Craig, Jeff Johnson, Terry Turner, Jeff Latendresse, Robin Walker, David Jones, Raymond Boyd, Ralph Sentell, Joey Troutt, Ramsey Allen, Thomas Rowsey, Mike Howe, Joey Bullen, Ronnie Travis, Danny Hensey, Lynn Horton, Ricky Kelley, Tanny Cole, Chip Duncan, Barry Carter, Ricky Presgrove, David Burton, Tim Bullen, Tod Leonard, Brent Burke, Robert McCann, Verdell Liles, Terry Wright, Gil Wright, Jeff Crossett, Paul Stockdale, and Johnny Greer. The Lions finished third in the Volunteer Conference that year and received an invitation to play in the Butter Bowl in Pulaski. They won the bowl game. David Carter, Stanley Walker, Mark Dudley, Roland McElrath...They played later in the 1970's. Thomas Rowsey, of course, went to Knoxville. David Carter went to UT Martin and was their punter and quarterback for 4 years. Many of the players have dads, uncles, and other family members that were on the 1973 team. By the way, you can find all of the Lions lineage at www.camdenlions.com Here's to another game like that one...with Camden the victor!!!
