  1. Guess that "County Pride" thing didn't work out too well the last 2 times. Nice season though for the Cougs.
  2. Once again my tri-cities sports feed has quit working......errrr.......any help would be appreciated.
  3. I was listening on Tricitiessports.com, feed went out midway through 2OT. I am at school in Tuscaloosa at Alabama, Will Henry is my little brother.
  4. A technical foul? AHHHH COTY........thanks for the updates you are a lifesaver. Well at least the Tide is looking good.
  5. The media player quit playing the game..............Final score yet?
  6. SCHS gets a steal goes to win, Weatherford charges, game goes to OT. DBHS - 76 SCHS - 76 Headin to OT.
  7. No problem........ 0:56 to play DBHS 76 SCHS 74 DB has the ball. Been an amazing sounding game.
  8. Listen on tricitiessports.com, simulcast, 1320 WKIN...........I'm a former DB student who does to the U of Alabama with a brother who plays for DB and that is how I'm listening. 7:19 to go in the 4th Dobyns-Bennett : 66 Sullivan Central : 61
  9. Talk about high scoring, CENTRAL leads DB 42-39 at halftime in District 1AAA Tourney at Sullivan South. SH beat Sullivan South earlier in the night.
  10. I'd very much appreciate SOMEONE to turn on 1320 WKIN and give me a Dobyns-Bennett / South-Doyle update, as I have a brother on the team and the Tri-Cities.com feed is down. Thanks!
  11. Can someone keep some sort of update going? I have a brother on the team and the Tri-Cities Sports feed isn't working. It would be much appreciated.
  12. Best defense DB has ever had? Are you drunk? Do you remember the defense with um, lets see, Jesse McMillan, Teddy Gaines, Jeremy Graves, etc etc. Come on man.
  13. A little excerpt for everyone..........obviously Spurrier still remembers DB-Science Hill............ Some seven or eight years ago, Ferrell and a couple of other Science Hill coaches visited Spurrier at Florida. Spurrier interrupted one of their film-study sessions to draw up a play for Science Hill. “Here’s you a good play for the Indians,” Ferrell recalls Spurrier saying, amazed that the Florida coach still remembered the nickname of Science Hill’s biggest rival, Kingsport’s Dobbyns-Bennett. Ferrell jotted down the play, a twin-receivers set with a play-action pass to the tight end who drags across the middle of the field, and Science Hill ran it for a touchdown the following season against Dobbyns-Bennett. Ferrell says USC fans should recognize the play. Spurrier ran it for a touchdown pass from Blake Mitchell to Andy Boyd in the Gamecocks’ season-opening victory against Central Florida. Ferrell has no doubt Spurrier designed and ran that same play as a quarterback at Science Hill. It probably is the surest sign that Spurrier has never forgotten his Johnson City roots. Spurrier lives on as king of Science Hill
  14. Former Greene Devil Matt Malone just drained a three to put UTC up 20-12 over Wake Forest in the 1st half.
  15. Look if you read any of my posts you'd see I don't think DB Basketball was very good this year and don't think they'll be that good next year, but comparing scores is stupid. DB beat Science Hill this year.......so that means if Science Hill goes to state that DB is as good as whoever Science Hill gets to go there? No. Volunteer went 8-6 in the mighty Watauga Conference this year, that isn't saying a whole lot. As I have said about 10 times already, neither DB or Volunteer is very good, but I know you are just trying to finish off this little feud you and Waco and ArtVandalay have.........so go at it.
  16. Well Waco not to doubt you, most DB freshman teams the past 10 years (or as long as I've kept up with them) beat the area teams that bad. For instance.....my freshman year we had 2 losses.....@ Science Hill and @ Elizabethton (the best athletic class at Betsy in years - Walter Brown, Vince Redd, B.J. Miller).......and other than our W's against those 2 teams the closest game we had was 19 points @ Boone. We beat everyone else by anywhere from 25-75 (Beat East in the Dome something like 115-35). So again, this class could be very strong and win a lot of games, but I don't think their success as freshman was that much different from any others. And in all honesty, shouldn't it always be DB-SH? We have the best athletes and biggest numbers in the area. If DB isn't always competing with SH for the title then something is wrong. JMHO of course, take it or leave it.
  17. Well I know numerous people who saw them play and also saw other groups play (Gerald, J. Adams, T. Brooks, C. Henry) (my frosh team Azmar, Joey, Wooten,) and a few other squads and they definitley didn't say that last years was the best ever. Good? Sure. Best ever? Don't think so. I'd hope they would beat Volunteer like a drum, isn't Hughes one of their best players? And they talk about DB recruiting?
  18. Best freshman team in history??? That is very debatable, especially considering Science Hill's best players didn't even play on that team. Just in the past 5-10 years there have been some freshman teams with just as much success as that team, and against better Science Hill clubs. Not that it isn't a good class, but one of these classes seems to come along at DB every 3 years or so........and usually end up not winning many titles. But we shall see.
