I was at the David Lipscomb vs. South Side yesterday and David Lipscomb looked unstoppable. They scored 7 runs in the second inning with two when they reeled off seven consecutive hits. After that South Side had their heads held down and never had a chance. In the second game and Loudon, South Side could not catch a ball to save their lives. They committed six errors but i think it was actually about ten. Their bats were cold in the first game but were hot in the second game. They put up eleven runs and let many runners on base. Anytime you score eleven runs you should win the game. South Side made a remarkable run this year reeling off 23 consecutive wins coming into yesterday. I guess you could say that it just wasn't their day yesterday. Good luck to all of the remaining teams in the tournament and try to keep the AA state championship to west tennessee again.

This should be a great game between possibly the two best AA in the state tournament. Both have great aces on the mound to go along with great line-ups. This game could go either way but I think South Side will eventually come out on top in a tight game. I say South Side wins 4-2 but it could go either way. Good luck to both teams.

Hey highcheese, i guess we will find out if anyone can stop David Lipscomb when they match up with South Side on Tuesday. South Side has a pretty good pitching staff theirselves with Matt Riley at the top. He pitched a complete game two hitter in the substate and only faced 22 batters, the minimum is 21. He is the guy yall will be facing in the first game of the state tournament. South Side has some pretty good hitters from top to bottom in their line-up too. Their #9 hitter hit 2 homeruns and had four RBIs in the region championship game against Milan. So dont get TOO confident.

I dont really know enough about this Loretto team to make any kind of prediction, but do know they will have their hands full Friday night. South Side is probably the hottest team in the entire state, winning 21 straight games. They will have to go up against South Side's ace Matt Riley. He is 11-1 on the season and has been pitching great. Good luck to both teams.

I see both Milan and South Side advancing to the 6AA region championship game. This would be the third staight year that they have played for the region championship. South Side won the first one and went on to play for the state championship and Milan won the second game and went on to win the state championship. It could very easily be a preview of this years AA state championship game.

Matt Riley is going to be the starting pitcher. He is their ace but if he gets in trouble early, look for blake talbot to come in and shut them down.

How do you see this game going? This is the third straight year that these two teams have met in the first round of the region tournament. Lexington won the first one and South Side has won the last two. All I know is that it should be a great game!

It seems like everyone is overlooking South Side in AA. Almost half of their starters have been starting since their freshman year.

NO, South Side beat USJ 13-4 in the semifinals of the Sports Plus Tournament last year. Could of been worse but they called the game after five innings because of time.

All of yall USJ fans need to mark April 11 on your calender. That is the day that yall will be meeting up with South Side. We all know what happened last time we played yall.

I know that yall have a good defense too but there is no way that yalls defense will be able to stop Corey Stevenson. He is our wr. It seems everytime we throw him the ball he scores a touchdown. We would probably only have one loss right now if he had been playing all season but he was hurt the first three or four games.
