  1. Irishdad, I can't believe you came back! I thought you would have retired with #1 son. By the way how is #1 son? Hope he is doing well. For that matter how are you? Did you have to go to a detox center for wrestling withdraws? Just kiddin! This place wouldn't be the same without your prognostications. I am a little surprise that "The Whit" has grown this big over the summer. Can you confirm what cbg says about Howard, in that William beat him last year. If so, that bodes well for our Tennessee boys. Also, any news on the elder Simpson at Army?
  2. Does Michael plan to wrestle at Missouri? What happened to Michael at UTC. I guess it wasn't a good fit for him. Maybe Michael should give the new coaches at UTC a try. Either way good luck to him.
  3. WrestleSBA, Hello to the left side of the state. Since you live over there maybe you could get some information about Whitt and William from their uncle Jonathan at Germantown. It does seem intersting that Whitt is going 133 and William is going 125. I went to the USMAPS website and saw where William went 133 last year. What the heck is going on? Seems like both these boys have their work cut out for themselves this year. Another question SBA, did you guys get to attend the Army wrestling camp this year in Nashville? I was wondering what people thought about this years camp.
  4. I must agree that Manson is the pick of the state this year. There are about 3 or 4 other kids that are just a level lower than Manson. I must admit, for anyone to think Coffee from John Paul Two is in this class is delusional. Coffee is a good athlete that won a weight class for his first time. Plus, I don't think that DII was all that good at 215 last year. Maybe John Paul Two should wrestle some good competition this year and not go to tournaments such as podunk High. This way Coffee can get some wins over good wrestlers, and then he might be considered a top kid. Good luck to all wrestlers this year.
  5. Oh my golly!!!! An Irishdad imitator on academic steroids. What is the wrestling world coming too.
  6. Irishdad, Congratulations to your son on a good tournament. I thought he fought hard against terrible odds. Marable is good! I do have one question for you or your son (the tall one). I noticed that after the match your son walked into one of the tunnels and was followed by Marable. I noticed that Marable was jawing at your son as he went by him. Was Marable telling your son that he put up a good fight and wish him well? I sure hope so. I was just wondering what was going on! Hope you stay around next year to drum up some excitement!
  7. Seems like this match is the talk of the town here in Nashville. I will be in attendance tonight and fully expect to see a good match. Does anyone have any perdictions? I wonder if Sommers will come to the match or not. If we are lucky enough will Walkenvol show up also! I sure look forward to watching these two teams get after it. Good luck to both schools!
  8. Tic Toc, Tic Toc, Tic Toc, BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Oh did the buzzer go off???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Just couldn't resist
  9. Has anyone heard what happened between Ryan and Overton tonight? Out of town and can't get there. Should be a good one tonight!
  10. State Champ Nickerson Decides On College Action News has learned that four-time state champion wrestler Troy Nickerson has decided to wrestle collegiately at Cornell University. The Chenango Forks senior had offers from major division I programs from all around the country. He'll make the official announcement on Tuesday at a press conference at Chenango Forks high school. Nickerson tied a state record with his fourth straight championship last season. He can set a new record in the state finals this season. Jan 3, 2005, 00:16 This guy may be the best wrestler coming out of high school this year. Sounds like Cornell is getting ready to make a run to the top.
  11. I still submit the question. If the top wrestler locks up a cradle and works his tail off to try to turn the kid on the bottom but the kid fights hard enough to keep from going to his back, does this action constitute stalling on the top man? I don't think so. So, I just want some official to tell me why it is that some moves are called for stalling (like legs) and others are not (like cradles). Just want to make sense of this.
  12. I must say that for an official to call the top guy for stalling when he is working legs must submitted his resignation as soon as possible. For an official to call the top guy stalling when he is working legs is totally ridiculous. Maybe the top guys should be called for putting a cradle on the bottom guy if he can't turn him within say 10 sec. Give me a break. The problem with most of you guys who complain about leg rides is that you don't understand them and cannot counter them. I was once at a tournament watching "The Whitt" from Ryan ride the legs on a kid and all I heard the kids dad scream was "HE IS JUST STALLING" I almost passed out from laughter.
  13. I haven't heard anything about McCallie vs Ringold or Overton vs MBA. Can anybody gives us some scores or details. Thanks
  14. Camaroon, I hate to burst your bubble but I have seen The Baylor School of Chattanooga and I will state that without a doubt they are the best team in this state whether DI or DII. Oh by the way, I have seen Father Ryan also. Ryan will be lucky enough to stay within 30 pts of Baylor. This is not a knock on any team just my opinion on what I have witnessed.
  15. Sounds to me that the Clarksville supporters are getting a little testy after 2 losses. Come on guys, if the Ryan guy at 215 was not that good of a wrestler and should have been pinned by the Clarksville guy, he succeeded in helping his team secure the win by what ever type of wrestling he rules allow. Both Clarksville and Ryan have great programs and I hate to see all this bad mouthing about how a kid stalled or how much he weighs or whatever. Just call it a great match.
  16. Thanks for your copy and paste of your post. I hope you are not to exhausted to post some results. How did #1 son do? How did THE WHIT do. Waiting for anything. Thanks Dad
  17. Irishdad, I know you are on and just posted that Ryan won by 1 pt. Congrats! Can you give us any results or details? Was the match at Ryan or Clarksville? Sounds like a great match.
  18. Does anyone have information about the Clarksville vs Father Ryan match tonight?
  19. thewrestler, are you someones little brother trying to pick a fight with Franklin? If so, you better watch out. There are a lot of little brothers running around the Franklin team now. I bet the can win it all this year. That is if they can keep their team together and avoid any mishaps on the mat or off the mat. Good luck to the Rebels!
  20. Oh! Texas that was so cold! Cut the coach some slack. At least he has enough sense to discipline his wrestlers for misconduct. Good job Coach KKW.
  21. This weight management program seems to be a nightmare for the coaches. Does anyone support this program? What are the benifits of this program? What are the downfalls of the program? Let ur rip guys!
  22. whiskyjoe, what do you mean about no wrestle-offs? Please explain. I don't understand.
  23. Do I understand this right. Has Walkenvol changed his allegiance from the Blue Tornado of McCallie to Baylor? Bluewhirrlygig where are you on this breaking news! When did this happen?
  24. Hamm You the man. You called the win for Sioredas over Hendricks and I questioned you on it. You get my vote for official swammi of the year. Just kiddin. Sounds like UTC had a pretty good showing this weekend. Hope Keefe is alright!
