no chance in heck that denney has even somewhat of a good game vs siegel, he has shown us a large weakness, and that weakness is that he is not emotionally stable, he can't handle the nation and we get in his head and he cannot take it

your right, and it will be an awesome atmosphere, siegel should easily dominate down low, but as long as they keep pressure on the guards, i believe siegel will win by 6 or so, especially considering they will bring the loudest visiting crowd you have ever heard in your life, yes........even better than what cookeville brought to you guys last week!!!!

i would be willing to put money on the line that Oakland's starting 5 is better than Riverdale's starting 5. With Oakland's starting 5 in, they held Siegel's starters, and even went ahead by 10 or so...When Riverdale played Siegel....Siegel's starters went up by 20 on them...you do the math

Well..I didn't start out downing Siegel. I was just making the observation (under the coach on the hot seat thread) that I thought Harris would be on the hot seat after a couple of years when his talented players are gone. Many of you took exception to this.

 

I feel that Harris will have a hard time maintaining success at Siegel because of his lack of discipline. He's doing good now based solely on the talented players that he has. It's hard to maintain a high level at any school, but if you will look at a couple of coaches (no this isn't an ad for Oakland) such as King and Granstaff at Oakland, they seem to be competitive year in and year out no matter the amount of talent they have on the team.

 

I feel that Siegel has a lot more talent than Oakland, but it took overtime to beat them because King had a good game plan. Actually, I felt that Oakland was going to win that game. I also feel that Whites Creek had no where near the talent as Siegel, but Siegle lost on homecoming because they were outcoached, not outplayed, but outcoached.

 

I just don't see Harris having the same success as some of the other schools over an extended period of time. We can't predict the future, but remember this post in a couple of years and see if I wasn't right.

I feel very similar about the game at Oakland and the homecoming game. Siegel was outcoached...Whites Creek is not a team that should even come close to beating Siegel. The only advantage is their quickness..But the quickness of this team could have been downplayed with a different defensive strategy...what do you do to a team that has speed?...well i can tell you for sure that you dont press..not even half-court press...they'll run right around it...and they did..

If you are going to slow down a very fast team..you either play a tight man to man...or preferrably a 2-3 zone defense...making them shoot from the outside, instead of driving through the lane to hit an 8ft. jumper...

Siegel definitely got outcoached against Whites Creek...but they also...lack of intensity hurt. Being outcoached, and a lack of intensity will almost ALWAYS end in a loss.

there is no way this can be a "battle of the nations"...blackman is not a nation...they never were...they could never be. The only reason they "think" they can have a nation, is because Siegel had one first....its incredible how much these guys from Blackman want their student section to be as large, unified, and incredible is the REAL Nation is...Siegel Nation!!!!

well ive read every single post on this thread...took me bout 20 min...and there are many things i would like to say.

Oakland in general is not a classless school. they do have some classless fans..which most schools have. And some of their students made some wrong choices after the game...but what can you do?

As far as the game...i say siegel is going to run the mess out of blackman. i can just feel it. Blackman will try to keep it close, and they will....with some big 3's. but i say a comfortable 12 point lead at the half...and second half its just gonna go downhill for blackman...the students will leave early so they wont miss the dance!!

AP polls have siegel ranked #1 in the state...not to mention the fact that at least 250 students show up to every home game...aint no place like the black hole!!

i think im gonna pull for the ole murfreesboro team on this one. Riverdale is going to HAVE to contain the post on this game. Lebanon has a big post player with tremendous athletic ability...theyre also going to have to hit some big outside shots...if Riverdale cant break the press for an easy lay-up, big 3's are going to have to rain down...go warriors

wow you got me. as a matter of fact, i am denney. the 2nd one out of 4 kids. the denney family just happens to attend all the Riverdale basketball games, and its hard to explain to the 3rd grader and 1st grader why their brother is hated so much when you dont know the reason yourself. as a matter of fact, im a 9th grader and i also dont know why. why a 60 year old man comes lookin to fight when he sees denney with his head down from defeat after oakland wins by a buzzer beater. or why blackman would take the time to make shirts that said "the big queerizzle" on them (which were actually screen printed) reffering to my bro. and why siegal just cheers away against him.

 

personally, it doesnt get on my nerves (or ryans) but the lil bro and sis dont need to see or hear all that nonsense

well sports fan...denney talks trash more than anyone, and apparently can't back it up when he plays the stars!! however, i do feel bad about the "its all your fault" cheer...you definitely cannot win or lose a game with one person...there are plenty of other people that should be able to back a player up, when he has a bad game.

denney...keep ur head up...theres always more games...everyone has a bad one.

as a huge fan of basketball for a very long time, i have been around all types of refs. Yes, some refs officiate with a very large chip on their shoulder toward a player, coach, or team. but the majority of referees do not officiate like this. everyone is going to be mad at a ref when he calls a foul that you dont think is a foul. this has always been, and always will be. i hold nothing against referees, they make mistakes, they make bad calls, thats part of the game...deal with it..

yes fellas it has been quite a while since my last post...but i have still been attending all the basketball games that siegel has played, and they are playing the best ball i have ever seen them play. their defense is getting better every game, and their offense continues to look more and more effective....tonight will be a very tough game for siegel, but i see them coming up victorious when they pull away in the 2nd half...its gonna be a DOOZY!!!

Mufreesboro has some of the strongest basketball programs around. just think about all the talent in the four schools....as far as the tourney goes..Riverdale will beat cheatam co....and eventually meet Siegel in the championship

i think siegel has gotten a rude awakening in losing to White Co. i believe they will come out strong against lavergne...i say siegel wins but not sure about the score...i dont know too much about lavergnes D.

dont worry siegel fans...the black hole will be back, and better than ever...and so will the bball team!!

this district is going to be down to the bone...a fight to the finish. this district is full of amazing teams and players

coacht is an awesome place to go and debate games. if this is used in the correct way, its amazing. however there are people who just get on here and talk trash and try to be funny.

overall though, i think its a great place to go and debate teams, strength of teams, upcoming games, and all that in a sophisticated way...you know...without fighting and stuff
