Hey Zeke Jones when will the Smith brothers be back? I did not see where Wheeler wrestled at the Cburg Tourn. How is Sullivan East's lineup any wholes?

Van Horn is it true that you are going to 152? That will be a loaded weight class come regionals. Mcmackin, Beamer, Bowman, Wheeler, Mumpower will all be there. It should be a big brawl if everybody stays there? I think 152 and 215 might be the toughest weight classes in region 1. Why do you say that Greeneville has the best middle school program?

The kids I work with in upper East Tennessee, I usually take them to tourns in Virginia and North Carolina. Some of the tourns are AAU, NHSCA or other organizations. But it seems this state is still divided. Knoxville and up is AAU, Nashville and Memphis is USA, and Chattanooga is FCI. I know some people are trying to work on getting the whole state involved to work together instead of staying in our areas and wrestling the same people. Or giving the opportunity for certain kids to be on state teams, or area teams instead all the kids in the state getting a chance to try out. I think the word needs to get out a little bit better.

Hulk77 who are you? Any teams wrestling this week? Next weekend will be busy with the GIT, Father Ryan Invitational , and the 1st year for the Symrna Tourn. I think most region 1 teams will be going to the GIT while I heard Elizabethton will be going to the Symrna tourn out in Nashville. Ricker does Greeneville have a strong middle school program. I know down in District 2 they used to have conference for middle schools, I think it was called the conference 9.

Why do you need to know if I am a coach, wrestler, or a fan? I just observe some of the wrestling in region 1. Does anyone know if there are any middle school wrestling teams in the area and when will they start wrestling?

I know it is too early to predict regional placers and champions it has to be settled on the mat. Good luck to everybody in region 1 this second half of the season and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Cornett lost to Bowman 9 to 2, and he wrestled a sloppy match. I think he has a chance to win region at 160 and with the right draw he might medal. HE has a lot of potential but can be a head case. It all comes down to your draw at the state tourn. You could be really tough here in region 1 and get beat in the first round of the state tourn. I have seen guys place fourth in our region and place in the state the next week. (Ex. Reed from Sullivan East placed fourth in our region and third in the state.) What happen to Bowman against the Daniel Boone kid. I was suprised to see Jarrett beat him. Is Ramsey from DC going to stay at 140? I heard that Wayne Smith from SE might go to 189. And who is the best 171 in region 1?

WHo are the top 4 in region 1 at 130, 140, 145, 160, 171, 189, Hwt. And when does everybody wrestle next? Any good matches coming up?

What do you think about Garmer pinning Kennedy? Can Garmer beat Henley. And is Robbins really going to 215?

Yes you are correct. There will be 8 teams from the big schools and 4 teams from the small schools. The regions in small school will combine to form sectionals. For example region 1 and region 2 , from Knoxville to upper east Tennessee will form one sectional. The private will take the same number of schools as last year. And coach we ( Elizabethton) will see you on Jan 8 at your tourn. Thanks.

Hey Dream 2 Achieve thanks for posting with my forum name. Anyways Zeke we would love to have you pound on Ty Ross and our 130, 135 pounders. IF the Smith brothers and Wheeler want to come over also that would be great. Anybody else from Region 1 that would like to either come over to Elizabethton or have us come to your place for practice just give us coaches a call. Thanks.

Who will win region 1 at 160 and 171? Also add to the list of 215 should be Garmer , Kennedy. I dont know if that Potter kid from Elizabethton will make any noise or not at 215.

Hey TD Artist, how did Henley do against Merideth/Coffey and Reveiez at Knox Catholic. I heard he had two close matches. He also beat Robbins which was a big win. It looks like Henley is the guy to beat at 215 in Region 1.

North Carolina is a very tough state in wrestling. It sounds like Science Hill got some good experience this past weekend to get ready for regionals and state. Was Bandys and Riverside there at the tourn. Bandys is probably the best team in North Carolina and they are 1A/2A small school. Elizabethton will welcome the beating this weekend at Bradley while Greeneville and Dobyns Bennett will go to McCallie. Van Horn why is ME not going down to Bradley this year. You did well last year down there and I would think that your coach would want to get you tough matches.

How did Science Hill do this weekend at Winston Salem? Where is everybody going this weekend? Who will be at the Bradley Inv. from Region 1?

I say that Bo Usary has a good shot at winning state at 125. I believe he beat the Bundy kid who is ranked #1 in the state at 125 over the summer.

In the Greenville vs. TN high match who won the 215. Did Kennedy wrestle for TN high.

Indian Classic partial results: Garmer DC at 215 1st, Cornett E 4th, Chizmar E 4th, Webb DB 1st, Crocketts 103 2nd, Perkins Boone placed, Ross E 4th, Mumpower placed, Haynes placed, and that is all I can think of. Cleveland dominated the tourn. with 8 champions. Abingdon Va had a srong as well. What are some of the tournaments going on this week?

The transfer from New Mexico is not true just a rumor to get you fired up. Elizabethton will have a hard time filling weight classes but should have some individuals make some noise come regionals. What are predictions on individual top 4 on each wieght class in the region.

Elizabethton was at the Crockett match to do hydration testing and to scout both Crockett and Greenville. Elizabethton is down in numbers this year but should have some good individuals by regionals. Who will be at the Indian Classic this week? And any predictions on who will win weight classes there? Cleveland and Sheldon Clark KY will bring some tough teams.
