  1. I was trying to decide which one of "volfan1085" posts to laugh at most. I mean, seriously? LOL...LOL...LOL! This has either got to be a kid showing his maturity level or an adult who thinks because he/she has seen a high school game live and saw Tenessee play on TV, that he/she can make ridiculous statements like this, that EVERYONE in the state can laugh at! Very funny...ha ha!
  2. A section of that post from last year for you: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who Alcoa played, with team's record, and some notes: 1. Middlesboro, Ky. (6-6) Made it to the 2nd round of Kentucky state football playoffs! 2. Maryville (14-1) Tennessee 6A State Champions...7 out of 10 regular season opponents made playoffs in 2010! Beat West 35-6 who missed the 5A state championship by 1 game in a 7-0 loss to Columbia, beat Oak Ridge twice whom also came within 1 game of 6A state championship, beat Bearden and their UT football commitment twice by a combined score of 86-36, and beat nationally ranked Smyrna in 6A state champioship! 3. Loudon (9-3) All 3 of Loudon's losses came to either CAK or Alcoa. Alcoa beat them twice! Loudon also beat Howard whom beat Greeneville's first round playoff opponent East ridge! 4. Fulton (7-5) Alcoa won 49-0...Greeneville also played Fulton and won 35-0! 5. Scott Co. (7-5) Of Scott's 5 losses, 3 of them came to Alcoa, CAK, and Loudon! Scott Co made it into the playoffs and lost 45-48 to 11-2 Gibbs High! 6. Howard (8-3) 2 of Howard's 3 losses were to Alcoa and Loudon! 7. Kingston (6-5) 4 of the 5 losses were to Alcoa, CAK, and Loudon! 8. Stone Memorial (3-7) All of Stone Memorial's losses except 1 came against teams that made the playoffs in 2010! 9. McMinn Central (0-10) Not a very good football team this year...they made the playoffs last year and believe they finished 8-3, but graduated a lot of players! 10. CAK (11-2) Both losses coming against Alcoa. CAK is arguably a top 10 team in the state regardless of class in 2010! Combined record of Alcoa's opponents in 2010: 71 wins and 47 losses! ** 8 of Alcoa's regular season opponents made the playoffs in 2010...If you take out the losses to Alcoa, CAK, and Loudon to all of Alcoa's opponents, they would have a combined record of 71 wins and 27 losses meaning Alcoa's opponents won 3/4 of the games they played against everyone except the big 3 of 3A football! ** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Considering that next years Alcoa team will be better again, do you think you can help find teams to play Alcoa?
  3. LOL...This is funny! I posted last year a big long post about all of Alcoa's opponents...and their records, stats, etc. Very informative! You should read it before posting nonsense like this!
  4. Maybe we will get to play CPA next year. Sounds like both teams should be better next year. Alcoa should be a lot better next year than they are now. Maybe we can both last that long!
  5. I too meant no disrespect to Milan or anyone else...I do think Milan will have a good team and are one of the best 3A in the state. There are not a lot of teams that would be better than 2-4 against the schedule that has been played. Most teams will lose to both Maryville and Greeneville! I have said for years that the west teams do not realize how good CAK, AE, Loudon(down this yr but still has some good wins), and Kingston are in 3A cause they have to beat Alcoa to get to State Championship, so they never see them. I do believe Milan beats Scott Co, but AE, Loudon, and Cleveland is a different story. Cleveland has a great qb and would score lots of points on Milan. AE is very physical and has great speed...both which would give Milan fits. Loudon would be a toss up at best for Milan, but from what I have seen about the 2 programs, I would lean Loudon. These are just my opinions, but I think a lot of people would tend to agree that have seen everyone play. Good luck to Milan and hope to see you agin in December.
  6. I love it when a plan comes together!
  7. I agree Scott...Milan? People are commenting about Alcoa being 3-3 and down this year. I would be willing to bet that the #1 team in 3A right now would probably be 1-5 with this schedule...maybe 2-4 at best! Good thing about it is, we will see in 69 more days!
  8. I hope AE makes it to us in the playoffs! This is not the same Alcoa team we are used to watching, but still a very good team. I still say we win 3A. I agree though that not sure we beat Greeneville if we were healthy...this year. Last years team I believe still beats them by double digits, but this years team, no. Greeneville is very good, and deserves credit.
  9. It is a shame that all of this got to this point. I do agree with what was said about grown men acting childish over a high school sports forum! Hopefully this will be the end of this and we can all go back to watching HIGH SCHOOL football(did I mention, HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL, played by kids that are acting more mature than a lot of adults in the stands) and respectfully discussing games on here...all of us, me, alcoadaddy, goddardfield, bcsportsfan, bigtornado, apb, and anyone else that have opinions about games - ANYBODY(including whoever from CAK that wants to give an opinion)! Thats what this board was meant for, not reliving our high school ways through a message board years later!!!
  10. Its funny that you said that...cause that very idea is one of the opinions that got Goddardfield verbally abused on here and at the game. He said we need to throw more with Wall and use Oggs and Vee like Florida uses Rainey and Demps. He also was just pointing out after a lot of speculation of Rankin being in final year that he could make more money out of state or something like that. People take things wrong and out of text, then react too fast. Goddardfield is not a bad person...just a lil opinionated sometimes...oh yeah, and a yankees fan(poor guy)! He is not a "fat boy" as he was called, both at game and on here by members of our Alcoa family. He is just pleasantly plump! The sad thing is two of the people getting mad at him for his opinions and starting things with him didnt even play or go to Alcoa. Goddardfield sweat at all those practices, got yelled at in the locker room at halftimes, and has a state championship ring for it...I believe he is entitled to his opinion, even if you or I think he is right or wrong. And believe me, I disagree with him a lot! !
  11. First off, I want to say Congrads to Greeneville. That is a mighty fine football team that you have up there! Secondly, I love coach Rankin and all that he has done for Alcoa...not just the football team! He is a class act all the way. I always speak with his brother that travels in for the games. Do I agree with every play Coach Rankin calls? No. Do I think we should open it up more? Yes. Are these my opinions? Yes. Do they matter to Coach Rankin? No. Do I like our plain uniforms? No. Again, my opinion...does it matter to others? No. Do I agree with everything BCSportsfan, Barb, Alcoadaddy, Scots50, Goddardfield, or anyone else posts on here? No. Do they post their opinions on a free and open message board? Yes. Does it matter to Coach Rankin or should it to anyone else? No. There were a lot of fans upset and talking about their opinions last night? Do they matter to Coach Rankin? No. Should they? No. He is our football coach and it is his team. He has won several state and national honors...not to mention championships. We will all, disagree on plays and other things more important than a high school football game during our life time. Do I read some posts and think, "why did he/she post that"? Yes, but it is their opinion and its ok to do so. Do I agree always? No. Do I agree with everything Goddardfield posts? No. Do I think he should not post some things that he does? Yes. But again, it is a free message board and he has the right to do so...we dont have to agree. However, I will not get on this message board and downgrade someone's opinion, threaten them, or bully them from behind a keyboard. I find it ridiculous, that people from Alcoa are doing this to each other over a free speech message board for a high school game. Calling people names? Seriously??? We, Alcoa fans do not have to agree with each other on a lot of things...but at gametime, are we not all cheering for the same team? I was coming back from the restroom before the game started and saw an incident that took place in front of a lot of people from both teams. Scots50 got up in the face of Goddardfield and was yelling at him, causing a scene that many people witnessed. He called him a "fat boy" and said he "embarrases" Alcoa. First off, Scots50 should never call anyone else a fat boy(lol), but really, who was embarrasing Alcoa's team and fans more? That would be you! You didnt drive all the way to Greeneville to pick a fight with someone 3 times younger than you at a concession stand. Be the more mature person and chalk it up to "I dont agree with his opinions, but he might be an ok guy". I was embarrased for you and the other gentleman that stood in the distance and yelled on your behalf. If you really feel it necesarry to confront someone about their opinion(which has nothing to do with anything personally about you), please try to arrange a meeting at one or the others house and talk/fight it out. At a high school game is not the time nor place. I apologize to all Greeneville fans that had to witness this. This is not at all a reflection of all Alcoa fans. A few of our fans are giving us all a bad name and making us look bad. --- I like seeing all of you at games, reading your opinions on the message board, and talking to you...Scots50, F5 Seek Shelter, BCSportsfan, Alcoadaddy, Goddardfield, APB, and many others. I have nothing against any of you and are glad you all are part of the Alcoa family that we spend time with on friday nights. Lets all try and get along even though we have different opinions...we have a very tough and long road ahead of us for OUR team. OUR team needs us cheering for them in the stands, not arguing over a message board. We have a common goal that WE CAN ALL AGREE ON: Getting that next gold ball to keep the streak going!
  12. I am glad us fans do not have to play Greeneville tonight. We would get killed on the scoreboard because it seems we have too many people wanting to bash and fight each other in the stands instead of watching a high school game. Long way to drive to fight amongst ourselves! Looks like we could agree to disagree on some topics/issues, but still remember we are for the same team! Alcoa - 28 Devils - 17
  13. Not trying to be mean, but if Austin East cant score on the defenses they have played already...how are they gonna score enough to keep up with Alcoa in this game?
  14. This will be 1 of the most physical games Alcoa will play all year...maybe the most, outside of Maryville! AE will be fired up and ready to play...however, they do not have the horses or discipline to hang with Alcoa for more than a half.
  15. Ok...lets just say the top 5 teams in 3A over past few years is Alcoa, CAK, Goodpasture, Milan, and Loudon, in no particular order.
  16. LOL guys and gals! I believe almost everything that was said. I know that polls mean nothing, but these guys get paid to do their job and if this is the knowledge they possess, where do you apply? Seriously, I and almost everyone else really dont care what these poll people or others think until after the Championship game. When I first read that, I thought, "That is funny"...then I started thinking about it, and thought, "seriously". About Milan, I am not trying to slam them or anyone else. I am sure they are and have been a good team over the past several years. However, in the past several years if them or Goodpasture played in the same district that Alcoa plays in, the best they would have finished was 4th. A lot of people are slamming on Loudon, but if you look at their losses over past seasons, they have come to Alcoa and CAK...and a few very close games with both schools! Anyway, good luck to everyone the rest of the year and I am just glad its football season! Goddardfield: Good luck with your Yankees the next 3 nights, cause they gonna need it!
  17. First off, this is not a slander on any team. However, the newspapers, media, etc. should obviously relook at who they let vote on these things. I have a 2 yr old female boxer and a 1 yr old male german shephard whom could make more educated guesses than these jokers! The first poll of the year came out and had Alcoa as an unanimous 1st place team with nobody close...the newest poll comes out after Alcoa loses to Maryville and has Alcoa struggling to hold on to 1st place and only receiving 13 out of 21 first place votes????? Alcoa hasnt lost a game in years in any class and loses by 7 pts to the #1 team in 6A, which happens to be ranked in the top 50 in the nation, and now they are questionable to win 3A?????? Are you kidding me? Alcoa is easy 1 of the top 4 teams in the state regardless of class and the poll questions that? Who are these writers that vote? If I was a newspaper or media outlet and one of my people voted for anybody other than Alcoa as #1 in 3A, I assure you, that would tell me that he/she is not competent of handling the job. And who voted for Milan???? Again, no disrespect for Milan...but, if the 2 teams played right now, Alcoa would be a 35 pt favorite, or more. Maryville would put up over 50 on Milan! I agree that CAK is 2nd in state, but there should be a wide differential between top 2 and the rest! Alcoa, with their resume(especially in 3A) should be a unanimous decision for top spot until someone in 3A can prove different...it definately is not Milan or Goodpasture! The top 3 teams in 3A over past few years have been Alcoa, CAK, and Loudon! It is embarrasing to the media that this poll ever came out. Does anyone that voted for anyone other than Alcoa want to bet me all that they own verses what I own when I take Alcoa in every game in 3A this year????????? I doubt I will have any takers with the voters, however, they are willing to write/vote things they have no idea on! I challenge any voter who did not pick Alcoa #1 in 3A, to explain your decision to everyone...especially the person who voted for Milan.
  18. The area over here is already festive! There have been people tailgating since 9am this morning for this game. The parking lots are already filling up with people parking in the grass. People are already cooking and playing cornhole. Gonna be a fun time!
  19. This is going to be the toughest game for Alcoa in the last 3 seasons. This is a great Maryville team. I hope both teams get out of this with no injuries. Here is to a 29-1 year for Alcoa and Maryville. I feel in order for either team to win, they must play a great game....a good game will result in a loss for someone. Good luck to both teams and Go Tornadoes!
  20. First off...BVDEVIL, I hope whatever is wrong with your daughter gets resolved in a very positive manner for you. Secondly, I am glad to see a Greeneville fan say, "a very impressive 5A Morristown West". I am saying that because all we read is how Morristown West "was not that good", "they were overrated", and "the fulton team they beat was not good". Most(not all), Greeneville fans are very arrogant and disrespectful toward what other programs have done for years. After all we Blount County people heard about how much better Greeneville was than Alcoa and Maryville for the past 8 months, I guess its time to put up or shut up. So far, Greeneville is 0-1 against Maryville in a scrimmage and is 1-1 on the year in games that count...with a loss to an opponent that "most" Greeneville fans said would be a definate win for them. I gave your team props at the end of last year and said they were a top 10 team regardless of class, but not anywhere near the level of Maryville and Alcoa. Good luck in a few weeks and I guess we will see what happens...atleast we are playing on your field!
  21. Sorry about that Mr. "Nohands"...us Alcoa folk didnt mean to disrespect you fine upper class people. I guess we forgot that you run the message boards, as well as the state in football, the city, the county, and oh yeah, The Maryville Daily Times! We apologize to you and hope your powerful team takes it easy on our mediocre little boys tomorrow night. We just get tired of hearing how much better Greeneville is than Alcoa and Maryville. And, since the Red Rebels did such a good job of shutting them up a few weeks ago, I guess we will try our best to help out our neighbors in a few weeks. But, like I said earlier...we are just a mediocre little team, so no promises! Do accept our sincere apologies for discussing some team other than the mighty Rebels.
  22. Nix will be the next coach at Alcoa and the discipline will still be there!
  23. "right. in a league ahead. may not be as powerful but just as tough and faster." Did they just say faster? --- LOL! They have no idea what they are getting into if they really think they are faster! LOL
