  1. This is going to be a great game. Im sad I wont be able to make it. Alcoa hasn't had a blow out post season, but I think that they are still going to come out on top. They are a much higher caliber football team than any other high school football team I have seen. Go Alcoa!!
  2. Is this beat up on Davidson month? I believe this post was made just to whine. You beat Davidson, so shut up and move on to Knox Webb. Davidson's field is known for being a little mushy. This issue has been brought up time after time. Knox Webb fans brought it up because they were sore losers, but your brining it up as a sore winner? How much sense does that make? So please stop talking about how the conditions were or about the helicopters flying over the field. SO SHUT UP AND JUST PLAY FOOTBALL!
  3. I like how the playoffs are laid out this year. DCA, DA, and USJ are on the same side and Webb and ECS are on the same side. It will be a very interesting semifinal this year.
  4. I am not happy about the games in Cookeville... I usually go to every state game at MTSU. I'll go down every day and just stay for the day. This year I wont be able to do that with the games being at Tech. Plus I think that MTSU has much nicer facilites than Tech.
  5. bc you said that in the FRA game yall didn't even have your #1 rb. and webb had more yards rushing in that game then the DA game when yall HAD your #1 rb
  6. The only reason DA had over 300 yards rushing against DCA last time was bc of Justin Williams. He was the only person able to get through DCA's defense. Justin was out during the KnoxWebb game.
  7. and how many of your 58 rushing yards in the DA game were by your #1 rb?
  8. dude, what are u talkin about? davidson didn't play fra and dca beat them 27-6. so how is dca beatin fra 27-6 handlin them and webb beatin them 35-14 not? who from webb said the davidson loss was a fluke? i know i said from the start that da manhandled webbs line and controlled the line of scrimmage. da was the better team friday night in those conditions. with a dry field and grass that isnt 4 inches long it coulda been a little different. webb didnt know what to expect this year after graduating their entire o and d lines. as it has turned out they have beatin all region teams except da easily and mercy ruled all but fra in their wins. they also beat 3 5a schools one who was ranked #3 in state at the time. ur right, the playoffs will be interesting... Honey, I was referring to the scrimmage at the beginning of the year. To look at the caliber of Webb athletes and to look at the caliber of FRA athletes, the score should have been more than 35-14. And I would like to stop hearing about the conditions during the DA game. So the field was wet, so there was "3 inches of mud on their shoes to weigh them down". SO WHAT THATS FOOTBALL! It has been raining non stop in middle tn and Coach Wade would have never flooded the field just to win a football game. If you would have noticed the hill behind the away stands makes the water run down onto the vistitor side lines. Thats nature. So it was wet, suck it up and play football. To blame a loss on a wet football field is just idiotic. Yes yall did beat good teams and I never said that yall were a bad football team. I just think that it is gonna be closer than everyone had thought at the beginning on the season.
  9. The whole game will come down to if MJ's defense is on or off. It has been weak all year, but MJ's offense has made up for it. This week will be a true test because Beech has a good offense too. MJ has gotten lucky in alot of their games this season by out scoring all their opponents in 4th quarter scores. It will definitly come down to both teams defenses MJ defense on MJ by 7 No defense Beech by 10
  10. I also recall in the Webb FRA game that it wasn't a blow out. FRA held them to 35-14. So I dont know how people from Webb can say that Davidson was a fluke and that it wasnt a good game. FRA was handled by both DA and DCA. I think that Webb is in shocked that they lost, but if you look at it statisically its not a suprise. Webb's coaches saw the region teams from where they were last year. They believed that they were going to run over everyone. Well not this year Webb.. The middle tn teams have improved a lot from last year. The playoffs this year will be very interesting.
  11. DCA's lines will overtake webb's lines but it will all come down to the back field and who's passing game is going that night. DCA has had trouble protecting in the pass in the past due to their young defensive back field. Now that the back field has some experience it will be interesting to see what webb does with the pass. In the last couple of games the back field has actually done a really good job. I do believe that webb's defense will challenge dca's offense bc of thier size. DCA has a couple of big boys but the majority are semi small. This is a big game for DCA it deciedes thier play off fate. This game decides whether dca is first or third, so the guys are pumped for the game. Looking forward to see how it plays out... DCA by 3
  12. It will be a good game. Davidson is without their #1 player and Knoxwebb got thiers back. They are both high caliber teams though. It will definitly be a defensive game. I say Knoxwebb by 10
  13. No teams to worry about in the West? Let's not forget ECS, who has been the favorite to win it this year (and likely will be most years going forward) since the new Division II classes were announced. And in the Middle/East, I would venture to say Knoxville Webb has probably been more of the people's choice all along, with or without this injury. I don't know what preseason coahces polls indicated, but ECS and Webb were the most logical choices to win Division II A going into this year. No disrespect intended for DA, but the statement "...the reason they were going to win state" was rather presumptous. I think saying "...the reason they would have a small chance of winning state" would widely be considered more accurate, which is more of a testimony to the relative strength of the ECS and Webb programs in the new Division than it is a slam on DA. I did say that i dont know much about the west region. I was just told that there was no one. I am not saying that there is no one and that ECS doesn't have a chance. I just have not heard about them this year.
  14. Last friday night Justin Williams (Tail Back for Davidson Academy) tore his ACL and chipped a bone in his knee. He was running a cut in the DA Riverside Christian game and all the sudden he went down. This is a major loss for davidson he was their team. He was the reason they were going to win state. Now that he is out that opens up the door for other teams (DCA, Knox Webb). I do not know much about the west region of DII-A but I've heard that there arent any teams to worry about. So it will come down to DCA and Knox Webb for the Mid/East Region Spot. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20090 ... eason+ends link to the article
