Westview's second string QB has moved to McKenize to play QB for the Rebels. The story is that he will take over as the starter. I thought there were some underclassmen QB's already on the McKenzie team playing second and third string. I can tell you for a FACT that the kid is starting school in McK in January. Has anyone heard this?? I have seen this QB play, and he only played when Westview was way ahead and all the starters where on the sidelines. He did not play any other position on the field. IMO, as a soph, if you are a super talent, you will be playing somewhere, even if you arent starting QB. Last year Coady started a Sophmore QB, and he got hurt - he was back healthy this year and will be back next year. He's does a great job, and their second string QB wasnt going to see any game time til his Sr. year, so he moved to McKenzie. I am not sure if this is true about him getting the starting position - it's hard to believe that the McKenzie coach would say that. There's no way he has ever seen him play, because he only played a few minutes of a few 4th quarters while Westview was winning and the Mercy Rule was in effect. I just wondered if anyone has heard this and what the McKenzie folks think?

McKenzie is getting Westview's second string QB. Folks in Martin were told that he would get the starting position. How do the folks in McKenzie feel about that?

I dont know the 1st team or 2nd team. I just did a cut and paste from the Jackson Sun and put it in the post. There was no additional information with the exception of the superlatives that the previous person already provided. It was in the "Area Results" section under the subsection "Football" after all the basketball scores. I had to scroll down quite a bit and happen to see it. It was in the Dec 22 edition.

CamdenCrunch - in the first Camden vs Westview game, there were 6 TDs. ALL rushing, 4 td's run in by Camden's QB, and 2 td's run in by Westview's QB. No passing, no nuttin else....all td's run in by the QBs on both teams. I am not saying anything about predictability or who is going to win, i am just tellling you how the scoring was done in the game. Good luck tonight boys!

Nice response. Very classy. Hey - good luck to Manassas and Westview. From what I have heard and seen, both teams have a great group of athletes who are very well-coached.

Are you kiddin me? Has this turned into Alcoa v Milan already? Maybe we can play the games in West TN first before we actually go straight to the Alcoa v Milan State Championship.....?!

I agree. I love to see Westview's passing this year. The pass protection has got to be there. Manassas CAN run and if Westview's D-line shows up the way it's been showing up, the match-up will be exciting.

...yea...that's what i thought. You guys are hardcore!! It's great - i just get tired of reading about you're team ... every thread on this message board somebody works in Alcoa. It makes it pretty fun to poke you. Hey....gotta love it. It's all about the kids - and they work hard. My son plays - he loves it - he is looking forward to Friday night. Stay on track.....this thread is about WESTVIEW and MAN! Dont go off about other Memphis schools or the West TN folk will have to start talking about Milan and then the East TN folk will start talking about Alcoa. ....do you really want that?! All I want to know is why cant we split some $$ and have the game at UTM field where the conditions are always perfect - the field is beautiful, the parking is safe, the bathrooms are clean, and visitor section is great, the concessions are good, ..... etc. Who wants to drive to an unsafe place. There will be more people from West TN going to watch the game than there will be people from Memphis there watching the game - so figure something out where people's vehicles and lives arent in danger! RIDICULOUS!

so....what do people from Alcoa do when football season is over?

I am going Westview over Man and then Westview over Camden. They are a different team than when they played Camden. Their defense was ok against Huntingdon, it was MIA the next 3 games, but they worked it out the rest of the season. If this thread is about upsets, then here's where this belongs. I am going for Martin Westview to upset.

I hope Milan beats Alcoa, if it ever comes to that, and I cant believe I said that because I am not a Milan fan either....but anything to make people stop talking about Alcoa ...geez?!

That's so great. Can we keep it about West TN? Really....there's quite enough about EAST TN on the message board.

The nearest report I can find is the DC scored 4 times and Westview scored twice with the first string players on the field. I am not sure what the other offense and defense scores were. No disrepect - I got the facts wrong the first time. I sat through two scrimmages Saturday, but I do remember that the DC quarterback threw well. The Westview quarterback is very good, and their offensive line is very good. They didnt have a good day Saturday, but hopefully will come together in game situations. Again, no disrespect intended on my first post.

Westview scored w/ their 1st and 2nd string Offenses. DC didnt score on Westview until the DC 3rd string or freshman were in. You might beat Westview in a JV game, but not varsity vs varsity. They didnt look much different than they did at the spring scimmage. Your QB had some great passes, but your first string is still weak. Good luck to all West TN Teams!
