  1. I was there also, DB wasn't the best team there in my opinion. DB has alot of question at their QB position. South look the best, but I also remember the spring scrimmage. Unicoi did look okay, but everybody knows North wont pass the ball more than 5 times a game. Those scrimmages are like half empty bc it is just one part of the game, but they help teams to get better.
  2. 1. South 2. Betsy 3. North 4. Unicoi 5. Johnson Co. 6. HV 7. East Didn't see much from Unicoi in the passing scrimmage the other day at DB against North and South. South wore out DB back in the spring scrimmage, so I just guessing they will get Betsy. Betsy lost a ton of talent last year, but they do have Thomas back. He is probably the best running back in NE Tenn. If south don't control him, Betsy could take it all. North will get Unicoi, they still got Coach Norris.
  3. The bad thing for South and Elizabethton is that they are 4A. That means they have to go through Fulton! Fulton is LOADED this year!
  4. What are the predictions for the districts this year? Sullivan South drops down into the district, to give the district 7 teams. In 4A you have South, East, Elizabethton, and in 3A you have North, Unicoi County, Happy Valley, and Johnson County. So what is everybody's predictions?
  5. He is on staff, but I think he coaches the D-Line. I don't think he coaches any on the offense.
  6. Well, the past couple of years Ive been use to DB just having the best athletes and quarterback all over the field compare to local teams up here, when it comes to passing scrimmages. Usually other teams would have 1 or 2 kids that could run, and DB have 5 or 6. That wasn't the case this year. DB has some serious issues when it comes to the QB position. South probably look the best overall in my opinion. Their QB was impressive, but WR's drop to many passes. North passing is limited, but they did have the best athlete in Jasper on the field. So, I look for Casey for DB to have a lot of carries this year, and Clark to run the football! However, its early and the two QBS for DB has time to improve. DB's defense will be good, well atleast defending the pass. It hard to take alot of what you see in a passing scrimmage, but they are fun to watch.
  7. What are other peoples opinion on the passing scrimmage with DB, South, North, and Unicoi?
  8. Wow you keep amazing me! I thought this board was to talk about football, not bash coaches. Holston does have a good middle school program, but they don't win it every year. North won it year before last, went undefeated. Holston and Blountville are in the Middle classification of middle schools. The sizes of them two schools make Central play up in 5A. Where they play the likes of Science Hill,Tenn High, DB, and South. Where as those schools'middle school teams play in the city league, or Large Middle school conference. Holston or Blountville wouldn't do so hot against that compettion year in and year out. So, Holston and Blountville aren't playing against the same kids in middle school that they are in high school, for the majority. In reality Central shouldn't be up in that conference. They was the smallest school in the conference when everybody was reclassified a couple of years ago. I can't believe anybody would stoop that low to say something (referring to you quote of destroying the players) like that about somebody you really don't even know. The coaches Im sure are doing the best that they can. You can't win the Kentucky Derby with a plow horse, that saying is the same in football too. The coaches wants the players to win and they want to win too! THEY AREN'T DESTROYING THEM!
  9. I believe they will have a chance against JJ Kelly, Volunteer, Crockett, and East. That Middle School team you was talkling about from Holston a couple of years ago. Their best players were Seth Barger (DB) and Jake Weaver (South). Its hard to win, when your best players leave. I hope they can turn it around.
  10. Wow! Its funny how some people think they can coach from the stands. Last night would not have matter who the coach is, the kids have to execute better. You mention the line not blocking and the defense not tackling. How is that the coachs' fault? The kids have to stay there instead of leaving to other schools for central to turn things around. I was at the game too. The kids gave up after the third conversion was good in the 1st Q, but was called back because of a holding penality, after that they selve destructed. The defense was in position but just didn't tackle. I hope the coaches will go back to work and the kids keep their heads up. Happy Valley is a solid 3A Playoff team, hopefully Central can learn alot from last night and improve.
  11. North will win at home. I think it will be a close game, but North is not just a two man team. Hartsoe and Pearcy are good, but there are 9 others with them on the field!
  12. Boone is coming off a tough victory over DB, and North is recovering from their first loss of the season against Elizabethton. It should be a good game!
  13. Betsy impressed me last night. They had skilled people last year, but their lines have drastically improve from last year. They shut North's ground game down, and they were very physical. Good luck Betsy on rest of the year.
  14. The reason it will be a blowout is the same reason it was a blowout last year when the mama's house raiders came to Death Valley. Betsy has the speed and strength to stop the run when that's the only thing you can do. Then they will run and pass all over you until you're begging for them to stop. :justwrestle: Betsy - 42 Mama's House Raiders - 6 I can't stand ignorant people. Did anybody watch this game last year? Do they remember the outcome? I know this is a new year, but alot is still the same. Elizabethton can win this game, but they will be in a fight for it. If they can stop the run, they will be in good shape. If they can't, than North will have a shot. North will be the underdog in this game, which will benefit them. They like it when nobody gives them a chance. They love a challenge, and they will be ready.
