  1. Thanks Blaze! I have tried really hard to keep my post to the facts as the have been reported by the DNJ. I love my coach and my school and it I pains me to see this thing play out the way that it has. Only time will heal these wounds and as Blaze45 said yesterday, its time to let the healing take place. I wish my coach nothing but the best with where ever he winds up. He will be successful, he's too good of a coach not to. As for Craig, good luck my man, and as for who I am I think you already know. I am mykidsdad and I am done with this thread. We Are Still Blackman! Let the healing began!
  2. You nailed it and I agree. This thing was on it's way to sun setting, but if you push long enough and hard enough, you may not get what your after. The bottom line is no one at Blackman is going to benefit from what happens here forward. The damage is done and Blackman will move on as will coach. Both really soon, but this one only time will heal.
  3. But he did get fired, he just got to pick the terms. You're outta here or you're outta of here and staying was not an option. The recommendation to dismiss came from the school board. You may be right about the witch hunt, but after the altercation and subsequent audit he was probably never going to coach at Blackman and possibly Rutherford County ever again. I am not against coach, but the facts as we know them speak for themselves regardless of whom people try to place blame on. Now it's been escalated to the point where the Sheriff's Department is involved in a separate investigation. I hope they find nothing else, but I don't think their looking for missing receipts. They have a whole other set of powers to bring to the table. Things like charges, search warrants and arrest. This so needs to go away!
  4. Sorry blazebruin, I was actually responding to freeagents post about the kid mentioned belonging to throwawayx.
  5. That's assuming throwawayx is Armstrongs dad. Either way it's weak to mention a kids name unless he's yours! I've always said when you get what you want, I hope you want what you got! While coach is a great coach, he is still a man. And as a man very foulable just as you or I. There was only one perfect man (other than GQ) and we hung Him on a stick!
  6. I hear he is interviewing and the family is preparing to move.
  7. Oh I think the world of the man and love him as a coach. But the link happened and there's no question. I just wonder why this thing isn't going away?
  8. Talk about a roll in the hay! Ya'll so pretty, which one is you?
  9. How did you know about the concession link?
  10. Shad will be successful wherever he winds up. Extremely well organized and knows what he's doing! My guess would be a private or out of state.
  11. Now the Sheriff's Department Detectives are conducting their own investigation. I truly hope this ends soon. Seems to be like an onion, each layer peeled back only reveals another layer. This is bad not only for the football team, but the school and community as well.
  12. Based on the DNJ article on Saturday this is heading a whole new direction. My God what a mess!
  13. I have a tremendous amount of both admiration and respect for coach. I have no idea about this new principal. I did hear that she was not a fan of students going to the State Tournament for basketball. If that is the case, she is one sad puppy. Experiences like those are a lot of what high school is all about. Not only would her predecessor want the students there, she would drive the bus if necessary. My question that I have yet to hear an answer on is who initiated the audit. If it was her, and it looks as if it was. She most certainly was on a witch hunt and has managed to run off one of the best football coaches in the State's history!
  14. Here are the facts as we know them. There was an altercation between coach and principle. There was a audit. The school board recommended dismissal and coach resigned. As for the "temps" first HC job. It was a start-up school and the DNJ said they made the playoffs 3 out of the 5 years. I hope that he has learned from one of the best high school coaches in the states history. If he has he will be fine. On both topics only time will tell.
  15. I do agree Shad will be missed, his organizational skills alone are worth 6 wins a year. At the same time kids step up when it's their time. I've seen it for years. You think my gosh how will we replace that guy, then you look up and somebody has embraced the challenge. After all the recruiting pipe line is full according to some!
  16. Absurd! There was no recruiting going on, you have a combination of kids that wanted to play for Shad combined with a great school that has it going on athletically. I think if any booster club got audited they would find misappropriated funds. At the root of the findings as I understand them was missing receipts for checks that were written by the booster club to vendors on behalf of the coach.
  17. I really like Coach Watson. I told him if he wants it, I hope he gets it. He really did a lot with and for my kids along with the rest of the line play at Blackman. And from what I understand he was pretty good on the field as well!
  18. Not sure how it got to the School Board/Audit. The recommendation to dismiss was a School Board decision. My understanding the Principal delivered the Boards findings and it played out from there.
  19. The word is the County School Board recommended he be dismissed. It would be hard to hire damaged goods.
