  1. Ok folks, it's Week 9 and everything is coming into focus. The next two weeks will decide who is in and who isn't. This is my look at what I think to be the 'Big Games in Memphis ... Week 9'.

    Division I

    District 14:

    Millington (6A, 5-3, 4-0) @ Craigmont (5A, 6-2, 2-2)

    District 15:

    Ridgeway (5A, 3-4, 2-2) @ Germantown (6A, 7-1, 5-0) [Trap Game for Germantown?]

    District 16:

    Memphis East (5A, 2-6, 1-3) @ Whitehaven (6A, 7-1, 4-1) [Trap Game for Whitehaven?]

    Division II

    Class A

    FACS (A, 7-1, 4-1) @ St. Goerge's (A, 5-3, 4-3) [Must win game for St. Goerge's]

    Class AA

CBHS (AA, 7-1, 1-0) @ MUS (AA, 8-0, 1-0) [The winner is the Big Dog in D-II]

Briarcrest (AA, 6-2, 0-1) @ St. Benedict (AA, 3-5, 0-1) [Playing for the number 3 spot in D-II]

    Greetings from the Haven

    My picks are as follows:

I won't put scores out but...

I'll take Craigmont in a close one

    I'll Take G-Town

    DA HAVEN... ENOUGH SAID!!!

It's Ken Netherland time... St. George's is an upset... I guess

    MUS in a nail bitter

    Briarcrest BIG

  2.

    Whitehaven- 14

    Mitchell- 26

I wish that this one was being played on a better field so that the athleticism could fully be displayed an appreciated. Even with that, my pick would be the same; I just would feel better about it.

    .

U honestly believe that Mitchell will hold us to 2 scores... WHY!?!?!?!?!?!?

    :thumb::thumb:Respect Da Haven

HAVE NO FEAR DA SENATOR OF BLACKHAVEN IS HERE...

fourthree and trojanarmy are gone on that BAY LOL :thumb:

  4. Ok Memphis area high school football fans we are in Week 7 which means we are past the half way mark and we are getting into the heart of most district games. By now we think we know who is for real and who isn't. As I said last week, some teams remain an enigma. The following are what I consider to be the Big Games in the Memphis and surrounding area for this week. You know the drill by now. My list is as follows:

    My picks are as follows:

Millington wins by a score of 28-7

    Arlington wins by a score of 17 - 14

Wooddale wins by a score of 24-21 (I honestly don't have a feel for either of these two teams)

White Station wins by a score of 35 - 28

Memphis East wins by a score of 42 - 35 (This is a do or die game for East)

    CBHS wins by a score of 21 - 17

Well ... that's it for me. What do you guys think?

By the way @ BlackhavenSenator ... I already know ... Whitehaven will beat Sheffield. (Respect Da Haven!)

Greetings from the HAVEN!... first off thanks for the shout out! Yes we will be playing Sheffield for Homecoming thursday and let's just say I hope I can see some of My Freshmen and Sophs get some REPS :)

    As for my Picks...

    Bolton [D-14, 6A] @ Millington [D-14, 6A]

I'll ride with MCHS over Bolton 20-7

    Cordova [D-14, 6A] @ Arlington [D-14, 6A]

Cordova in the "upset" over Arlington 24-17... Watch out for a big play or two from Ryan Heaston as the game changer!

    Wooddale [D-15, 6A] vs Ridgeway [D-15, 5A] @ Halle

In this Battle of East Memphis I have to go with Ridgeway.... This pick may change, I gotta ask my sources about Wooddale to see if they're real or not LOL!

    White Station [D-16, 6A] @ Melrose [D-16, 5A]

Now let me tell U what I need to happen then what I actually think will happen...

Melrose comes out on top led by Eric Watson they play a grind it out control the clock game winning 24-17 :thumb:

    HOWEVER...

I see WSHS coming out on top mainly because of Melrose turnovers and mental Mistakes WSHS 42 Melrose 20... My legit pick :lol:dry.gif Melrose we need yall Help Mayne please beat WSHS

    Mitchell [D-26, 5A] vs Memphis East [D-16, 5A] @ Fairgrounds

    Mitchell barely beats East 40-34

ECS [West DII - A] @ CBHS [West DII-AA] on Thursday, Oct. 8

If CBHS gives the Ball to #45 this will be a semi blowout 31-10 CBHS

That's my story and I'm stickin to it until Wednesday :thumb:

Senator, yes WH beats shefield. However you have me worried this is "I think" the first time you have picked our Trojans you had us losing bad last week. What brought on the respect? I agree with all of your picks except The ECS vs CBHS ithink CBHS wins 28-7.

It's simple my good man... yall beat a good team...

  6. Greetings from the Haven

    * WSHS and MUS--- I want 2 pick WS in the upset but I just can't do it... MUS 31-28

    * I can't comment on Arlington and Bolton

    * I'll go with the Chiefs just because... I honestly think this will be a Friday of upsets, thus the reason I really want to say WS will be MUS... Stay tuned! Some picks may change Wednesday...

    * Cordova will beat Millington 24-10... Millington seems like they can't beat a good team... I'm guessing Cordova's a good team.

    * I'll ride with East and Jaszy Parker over Melrose by the slimmest of margins 24-22

    Blackhaven:

On item no. 2 ... You can comment on Arlington/Bolton game if you wish. You can get on this site and view their schedule and view the schedule of their opponents. You can make an educated guess from there. I mean ... that's what I've done because I haven't seen them play either. I have read articles from the CA and stuff like that ... but you can do a little research and give an educated guess. It's not that hard to do.

    Thanks for your participation.

    'Repect da Haven!'

    Greetings from the Haven

I'm goin out on a limb!!! I'm calling 4 the upset WSHS defeats MUS 32-27!!!

I got'cha kwc, I'll pick Arlington off of GP

I'll stay with the other picks I had from earlier in the week...

As far as WSHS vs. MUS, I just think Julian Burton is gonna pull out a Tyrone Protho type of game tonight!!! If "Red" Hayes can manage 1 or less Turnovers I believe MUS may receive their first L of the Season...

Whitehaven will thrash Central tonight BTW... Just throwing that out there LOL!

    Respect Da Haven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Ok Memphis area high school football fans we are in week 6 which means we ar at the half way mark and some teams have already played 6 games. We have begun to get a feel for who we think is for real and who isn't. Some teams still remain an enigma ... but hey ... that's what makes it so fun. The following are what I consider to be the Big Games in the Memphis and surrounding area. Some of you reading this may think that some other games need to be listed ... thats fine ... this is all about dialogue and opinions so have at it. My list is as follows:

    1) White Station [Class 6A, Dist. 16, 4-1] @ MUS [Class AA, Div. II, 6-0]

    2) Arlington [Class 6A, Dist. 14, 6-0] @ Bolton [Class 6A, Dist. 14, 3-2]

    3) Craigmont [Class 5A, Dist. 14, 4-1] @ Briarcrest [Class AA, Div. II, 5-1]

    4) Millington [Class 6A, Dist. 14, 3-3] @ Cordova [Class 6A, Dist. 14, 3-2]

    5) Memphis East [Class 5A, Dist. 16, 2-4] @ Melrose [Class 5A, Dist. 16, 2-3]

    My picks are as follows:

    1) WSHS loses to MUS ............... 21-28 (I think WSHS gives MUS a run for their money)

    2) Arlington beats Bolton ............ 21 -14 (Arlington gets their 1st quality win, in district play at that)

    3) Craigmont loses to Briarcrest ... 7 - 28 (Briarcrest proves to be too much)

    4) Millington beats Cordova ......... 14 - 10 (district play slobber knocker ... Millington does it the old fashioned way)

    5) East loses to Melrose ............. 21 - 28 (District 16 grudge match ... man ... all of that speed on one field!)

That's it for me. What do you guys think?

East will beat White Station 32-28 --- I WAS WRONG ON THAT 1! :)

Mitchell will find a way 2 lose 2 Melrose in a no Field Goals allowed game 26-24 Melrose ---I AM SLICK A GENIUS... HERE'S A QUOTE OF MINE FROM ANOTHER TOPIS "Earlier in the week I picked Melrose in a no field goals allowed upset but with all this DAM rain here in the city of Memphis I may need to fall back off of that pick... I say Mitchell if it continues to rain mainly because of their size and Senior QB... 20-12 Mitchell... HOWEVER, if the skies clear up this afternoon I'm still rolling with Melrose. THE SKIES CLEARED UP LOL

Home cookin down in OB will keep this game closer than what it should be 31-30 MUS ---RIGHT BUT WRONG SCORE

I see G-Town winning 20-10 over Houston. --- I FORGOT THAT SIR GREGORY WAS THAT DAM GOOD

ECS and Bolton... no prediction... I don't know enough about either club. :P

    RESPECT DA HAVEN

  10. To everyone picking against the HAVEN let me say THANK YOU... It is so necessary! The one game the Tigers lost DAM NEAR a third of the team got some kind of flu bug... Certain key guys were out and some others may have been 80-85 percent at best! But hey CBHS does have more everything than us.... More money, more discipline, more coaches, talent and obviously WAY more RESPECT... We should be lucky to get out of that game without being too embarassed!

    BlackhavenSenator:

Like I said earlier ... time for redemption!

THANK YALL 4 PICKING AGAINST US WE NEEDED IT!!!

  11. Though the past is the past, here is a little history on the results when CBHS and Whitehaven have played since 1993. CBHS has 8 wins to Whitehavens's 1.

During CBHS's worst season in the past 15 years, 1998 in which they had 1 win and 9 losses, that win came against Whitehaven by the score of 30 to 12.

Whitehaven's one win came in 1997, by the score of 19 to 14. CBHS's record was 3 wins and 9 losses that year.

Yes, given what the Whitehaven coaching staff gets to work with year in and year out (big, fast, strong, smart, middle-class kids, and lots of them), based on play-off results (not just regular season games against CBHS), I would say that the coaching at Whitehaven has been at best questionable for the most part during the past 15 years. Yes, there was a time or two when they were not lucky and ran into championship teams early in the play-offs (ex. Germantown); but still, with the kind of players that Whitehaven fields from year to year, besides coaching, how do you explain their history against good/play-off teams.

    Greetings from the Haven

As an avid supporter of the Haven I know 4 a fact a lot of the stuff u r sayin is legit... As a product of Whitehaven, I have witnessed times when the coaching staff either didn't want to or couldn't make the proper adjustments during a tough game... On the other hand I have been a part of teams that have dug down deep and came back from a 20-some-odd-point @ G-Town the '01 season so honestly we may have underachieved as a program but ITS NOT AS MUCH ON THE COACHES AS U MAY THINK... I can't argue with U on yo opinion because there have been times that I HAVE WITNESSED SOME "QUESTIONABLE COACHING" but we in the HAVEN have 2 all be DOWN with goin to the next level... We still got folks who wanna do things like how we did back in the day... BACK IN THE WE AINT GET NO RINGS SO WHY KEEP DOIN IT!!! Bro. fourthree, u have made some points that should make any person fimilar with Whitehaven consider and take heed! I know good SCHEMES beat good TEAMS and that's all that u r sayin... I also Charge the Whitehaven coaching staff 2 use their football knowledge first and your athletes' talents second and victories is all we should get!!! Let's GO HAVEN... Thank U fourthree!

  12. Yeah those players weren't sick when they were supposed to smack around White Station BEFORE friday right Senator?

They were sick! I just wasn't taking in account who all was sick... mainly #3 and #8... Both of those guys r big difference makers.... one didn't play at all and the other shouldn't have played! He got no contact during the week! Simple and plain I genuinely don't like whoever the Haven is playin that week thus don't take my smack 2 personal I just want us 2 win overall! :hungry:

  13. 14. 1) CBHS vs. Whitehaven @ Whitehaven

    2) White Station vs. East @ Fairgrounds

    3) Mitchell vs. Melrose @ J.P. Freeman

    4) MUS vs. Olive Branch @ O.B.

    5) Germantown vs. Houston @ Houston

    6) ECS vs. Bolton @ Bolton

    Prognostication:

    Game 1, Winner ... Whitehaven ........ Score ... WHS 24, CBHS 20

    Game 2, Winner ... White Station ..... Score ... WSH 28, East 21

    Game 3, Winner ... Melrose ............. Score ... M 28, Mi 21

There you have it. Well guys ... let's hear what you have to say.

We (the Haven) will beat CBHS... No other words until after the game... :roflol:

East will beat White Station 32-28

Mitchell will find a way 2 lose 2 Melrose in a no Field Goals allowed game 26-24 Melrose

Home cookin down in OB will keep this game closer than what it should be 31-30 MUS

    I see G-Town winning 20-10 over Houston.

ECS and Bolton... no prediction... I don't know enough about either club.

    RESPECT DA HAVEN

  15. Greetings from Haven

I'll take my crow plain, but rest assured if and when we see the spartans again the story and ending will be way different! I won't give u all the reasons/excuses on why we lost, but great game WS stay healthy and I HOPE WE MEET again...

A well whooped azz is what we got Friday, however more effort, intensity and better execution is what u will witness the rest of the year form Da HAVEN!!!

  16. White Station 34, White Haven 27!

Ok, folks-- it's time to put up or shut up! Let's lay it all on the line.

Please post your predicted SCORE, on this game?

    -----------------------------------------------

    JodyJoe says: WS 34 --- WH 27

    I'm sticking with: WH 30 --- WS 20

    21-10 Spartans :thumb:

Greetings from the Haven... Aint no way we won't score at least 3 TDs... 21-10 is absurd sir...

    Whitehaven 30- WS-6

    Respect Da Haven

  17. Greetings from the Haven

WS did look uninspired playin RW... They won't play us that way so there's only so much that we can get out of that GRAINEY azz FILM they gave us... I feel that we must respect RW for for what they did as well as WS 4 winning, but we must treat these Spartans like some BOYS on the field!!! I mean totally try to embarass them... WS simply doesn't have the Big Dogs up front so with that being said we sould win by at least 14 off of our advantage on the line... If we come out with the proper Mentality today at practice and of course Friday we may just win by 21 plus points... Their QB is aaight and J.Burton can only do so much! their Defense doesn't have the MASS 2 get in a base defense and just play GAPS they have to Blitz and stunt and other things so I forsee Big plays for the Whitehaven Offense! Hopefully after this week and next week (vs. RW) the Haven will get it's proper RESPECT throughout this state which seems to be overly in love with the MIDDLE and EAST, but has no love for the WEST, especially that Southwestern corner that includes Shelby Co. and MEMPHIS, 10...

    RESPECT DA HAVEN

  18. Mr. BlackHaven Senator!

First of all I would like to say congratulations to Whitehaven for their win on Friday night BUT to you my man. You're talking about my son not being humble and I know how I raised my son and I know what type of young man he is, I take offense to that. You're name calling a 15 year old boy but you're hiding behind this Blackhaven Senator moniker. I apologize it has taken me so long to respond but I'm just logging back on the site. My man I'm sure you know me and how I look. Come see me brother. You're trash talking my SON and you're an adult. I'll find out who you are and I will introduce myself to you. Thats a PROMISE. I'm not going to go back and forth trash talking on this site because it's pointless. You can say whatever you like as you hide behind this computer monitor and try to down young men. I'm proud of my son. I love my son. He is a very humble and respectful young man. You're trying to put out negative impressions about my son and you're wrong so I'll see you partner. I'll unmask you then we can get to know one another. This post is from Showtime9 but I'm Marcus "Doc" Holliday I. I'll see you soon!!!

This is Chillis (the Whitehaven staff that u know can tell u how I look/who I am)... I'm not hiding... I'm not thrash talkin about lil Holiday... I love him as a player... I wanted him to be at the Haven... I thought he was our most talented 9th grade running back... With that being said WE know there were reasons outside of just football on why you decided to take him out of the Haven... Now what have I said that's not a truth?.. I'm not airing any dirty laundry about yo son or you, I'm simply talking about the type of impression that he made upon me... I do believe he will mature into a fine adult, but he still has some work to do, that's just MY HONEST opinion... If that's "downing" him to you that's my bad and I'm sorry YOU feel that why... The ice bath talk was just (thrash) talk... I feel you're taking some of my comments out of context, however we can get that resolved at a later date since you want to talk with me... Yes, I know how you look and have spoke to you... What type of talk do you want to have with me anyway?

  19. This game will be close in the first half, but discipline, conditioning and depth will prevail as Whitehaven should win, I'll say 34-8...

On another note isn't it funny how one of Fairley's top players was a Whitehaven reject... Marcus Holiday would have been our (I am the BlackHaven Senator so u know who I roll with lol) back up or thrid string varsity Back at best behind Tony Jefferson, but he transfers to Fairley and scores 2 touchdowns and got all kind of carries and catches... I'm happy 4 him but we will be obliterating that boy!

I feel like somewhat of a prophet... The game played out dam near just like I expected... Good job to lil Holiday!!! I still love the way u run!!! I was off by 4 points put I can't be perfect LOL!

Mo2vate where u at BOY... ha ha

  20. Mr. Blackhaven sissy, I mean senator!!! You must have been one of those 100 bench riders back in the day at Whitehaven!!! Stop being a hater!!! You were probably on of those guys who lived in Fairley district, but snuck in to Whitehaven because you thought the water taste better while you were riding the pinewood bench or was it aluminum, or did you just prefer to stand? You keep mentioning Holiday. Is he that good? I tell you what, Keep being a fan of Lil Doc, it will be worth it by the time he becomes a senior!!! Woooooo Rick Flair!!!

HA HA HA... Mo2vate, u r a funny guy... Lil Holiday does have talent, Talent that would have been "good" at Da Haven as a Soph, but he's great over at Fairley already... I am the Senator of BlackHaven, meaning I am the most BlackHaven brother U would know, meaning I did not grow up in the 4 Corners... I lived over there off of Mary Jane on Winfield. I played plenty while I was at the Haven, that's why I'm a productive citizen now in my adult life... U just make sure ur ready to cry into yo orange and black towel after Da Haven lays the smack down on the BullFrogs rudy poo candy AZZEZ... LOL

  21. I'm not finished either... the South Fairley folks are the same people who ride by our field while we're practicing and shout out obscenities and other unsportsman like things... I don't have any real friends who went to Fairley outside of the few girls I knew from my Lanier days... Them dudes always think we think we're better than everyone and that we don't respect them, but heck how can u respect a program that is constantly tellin these young football players from Havenview, Lanier, Geter and all the other feeding Middle Schools that, "U won't get a fair chance at Whitehaven"... "You'd start for us"... and all the other JIVE... forget Fairley... I hope the offensive coaches at the Haven go for 50 on Fairley!!! As a matter of fact that's my theme for the DAY... 50 on Fairley!

  22. This is in response to BlackHavenSenator's remark about Fairley running back Marcus Holliday being a Whitehaven reject. Marcus transferred from Whitehaven not because he couldn't play there, but because Fairley is MYschool and that's where my heart lies. Whitehaven has a very good football team BUT so does Fairley. Marcus was 2nd on the depth chart behind Tony Jefferson in the spring and rightfully so because Tony Jefferson is a very good running back.

I look forward to a very good and competitive football game Friday night. Both schools respect each other and it's a very healthy neighborhood rivalry. I myself played for Fairley in the 90's and I always loved going against Whitehaven. Not because I hated them but because they were a good team and alot of my friends from OUR 'hood of the Whitehaven community played there. Be easy on the name calling my man and just enjoy some great athletes from OUR 'hood of Whitehaven competing for bragging rights. It'll be nothing but hugs and mutual respect regardless of the outcome. Just like it always has been. I'm proud of my son and I'm proud of my team Fairley High aka South Fairley!! Go Bulldogs!!! Doc Holliday

To Mr. Holiday and all the others who decided to make this post a semi-LOVE-fest between US... I'm not having it... I liked lil Holiday and how he ran the ball for us, but he was unwilling to humble himself enough in the school house and on the field to be number 2... That rubs me the wrong way... I personally have no love for Fairley... I will not root for them to do well... I would be just as happy if they won ZERO games every year... I'm on here to talk trash... Mr. Holiday have the ice bath ready for lil Holiday in the morning... I'm not meaning to be hateful, but down with the Bull Frogs
