  1. Fern Creek would be a top 10 team here in Tennessee as well as Kentucky. Wilcofootball, if you knew anything about football, which after reading your posts for the past 5 weeks, I know is non existent. I think you have some deep rooted issues from your playing days. Maybe not giving it your all so you could crack the starting lineup, maybe getting beat out by an underclassmen your senior year cause you couldn't cut it, or it is probably that your son is on the team and you feel like he should be the starting QB. I don't know what it is but you need help.

Let me ask you a question. What is the Rebels record? They are 4-1. They lost to one quality team, in which they competed in. So to me I say this team is doing alright. Have they peaked? No, but what team wants to peak in September? You say there are better options at QB, well who are they? I know for a fact before the starter returned the so called better options were atrocious in scrimmages. How many games have you one in your high school coaching career? I'll answer that one for ya, zero. So who are you to question a very experienced staff. For you to think they would start someone who was not worthy is crazy.

Here is my analysis of why the Rebels have not came running out of the gates.

    1. Loss of Seniors- Last year's team had alot of contributors to walk across the stage in May. 4 out of 5 lineman, top 2 recievers, Mr. Football QB, and the majority of the defense. That means you have the majority of the Rebels who have never started in their high school career. With experience comes success.

    2. Play of Alex Ford- His effort this season has been a disappointed to say the least. Looks like he is content with a great junior season. He is not running like the workhorse he was last year. That could be contributed to him having to play defense or him believing he is better than he actually is. People have told me he thinks he is an SEC player and that is an not the case.

    3. WR's- Coach Clayton does not have the big play receivers he has had in the past. He doesn't have anyone that can stretch the field except Keylo. This is the worse group of WRs in recent pass. That is why Clayton is throwing this short elementary routes to build the confidence of a group he knows he will need come the playoffs. The reason he still passes is that he knows that the ability to run and throw is what they need to be successful in the playoffs.

Go ahead Wilco, I am ready for your intelligent response to me.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Except for the part about Ford. He has been playing both sides of the ball for the first time this year. I'm wondering if that might have a little something to do with it.

You wanted a response, here it is. First off, I don't believe Fern Creek would be a top ten team in Tennessee. That is my opinion. As there is no way to prove this I will say agree to disagree. Secondly, please keep taking personal shots at me, I find them entertaining to read. It's funny how every franklin fan accuses me of knowing nothing when it is quite apparent that they know nothing themselves. On to your next comment. Yes their record is 4-1. They lost to a quality opponent. That is my point. They beat 4 mediocre teams. As soon as they played a team deserving the status of "good" they crumbled. If you would stop to think, no other team that the rebels have played has had a positive win/loss record. Now, "For you to think they would start someone who was not worthy is crazy." You obviously have had no experience with franklin high football, or for that matter, high school football. If you knew anything at all, you would grasp the concept that high school football is about as much politics as it is who is the better player.

    On to your points.

    1. Yes they have lost seniors. But did you stop to think that the defense lost seniors also? If I'm correct, and I am, the defense lost just about the same amount of starters as the offense. So here you have a majority of the defense who have never started in their high school career who still manage to pass for a good defense. Please explain.

    2. I agree. He is not the player he was last year. All I can say is a real athlete would be able to play both ways if his team required him to.

    3. Again, what is your point. Yes the rebels don't have the WRs they did in past seasons. WHICH IS WHY WE ASK WHY THEY TRY SO HARD TO FORCE THE PASS. "Short elementary routes"? Those aren't what I saw at Ooltewah. Now please, listen. This QB cannot throw downfield. When he attempts such a thing, all I see is a floating duck ending up in an incompletion or a pick. Ever heard the phrase play the hand you are dealt? They don't have the personnel for a pass game, but the franklin faithful say they have the best RBs in the state. That one should be self explanatory. Stick to the run and let the offensive line get better at that before you try to boost up the pass. BECAUSE THE RUN HAS BEEN PROVEN AT FRANKLIN. But no, for some unknown reason clayton is stuck on a pass game that doesn't exist this year.

    I await your reply patiently.

  2. On to this week. Again, I don't know anything about Fern Creek, but based on how Christian County played this should be an easy game for the rebels.

You think you are so smart...Before you post your idiotic comments, get your facts straight. Fern Creek is ranked 5th in the state of Kentucky! This will be a good game for the Rebels to prepare for the rest of the season. Let's show some support for this TEAM!

"In the state of Kentucky" is your fallacy there.

  3. So, 5 games in and the rebels are still struggling. I will take some time now to address some issues that some may have questions about. First off, let's discuss the schedule. Let me inform you why the rebels are playing in Kentucky again this week. When the time came for schedules to be made for this season, clayton figured he had better things to do. So while other coaches immediately got to work planning their seasons, clayton was busy playing golf (or other such activities). That is how the rebels got stuck playing 2 games in Kentucky this year. Moving onward, and somewhat unrelated, Rebbacker, you mentioned your son was in the Army now. How is he doing and is he still in basic? On to this week. Again, I don't know anything about Fern Creek, but based on how Christian County played this should be an easy game for the rebels. For those who ask "why are they playing in Kentucky?", see above. So now we are at week 5. Rebels have shown little (if any) improvement, regardless of what some people, *cough longhorns cough* say. It seems that some people think that completing one good pass against a 1-3 team automatically means the passing game is on par. Longhorns, I will take this sentence to personally ask you why you are so hellbent on backing a poor excuse for a QB when there are other considerably better players to take his place. And no, don't start the accusations of me being a father/brother/relative of any player. I am simply a football fan and express my opinions as such. The rebels are looking at 2 relatively weak teams over the next 2 weeks, and I venture to guess that after each game we will hear "rebels dominated this week completing 3 TD passes" and so on and so forth. It has been stated that the only interception in the Hillsboro game was caused by a bad coaching call that placed the QB in a position to throw an interception. I may not be an expert on coaching, but it would seem to me that throwing the ball away would be a better idea than throwing to a player on the other team. It seems that the coaching/play calling for the rebels is consistantly bad this year, and if I were the rebel coaches I would think long and hard about the coach in the press box suggesting plays. This week we can all look forward to another "great offensive showing" from the rebels as they play yet another Kentucky team.

  4. Why not write something original rather than cut and paste your post to the other thread? Not going to waste my time answering this drivel; I already did under the Ooltewah thread. This is a post obviously by someone who does not support FHS football ("YOUR QB"). It is obvious you have had no meaningful experience playing high school ball. I feel sorry for ya.

    1. It is original. It is my work and as such subject to as much copying and pasting as I see fit.

    2. "Not going to waste my time answering this drivel". You just did. Twice.

    3. "This is a post obviously by someone who does not support FHS football ("YOUR QB").". Obviously. Did it really take you four games to realize that?

    4. I state the facts as I see them, and obviously you have no idea what my football experience is.

    5. I don't care how you feel about me. The sooner you understand that, the easier our future correspondences will be.

  5. And now the truth comes out about the mighty rebels. I don't know whether the loss is due to the absolutely atrocious coaching and play calling or just the lack of heart and skill from the players. I think it's a lot of both. Let's try to recap the game from the claytons point of view. Rebels are down at the half, what do we do? Clayton answer, "pass". In fact, seems as though that is claytons answer for every situation. I would like to know who the moron is calling plays from the press box. Obviously, the pass isn't working. When this happens, most, if not all, GOOD coaches would say, "hey, let's try something else, the pass isn't working". Not these coaches, they seem to be set on the idea of a passing game which is just impossible with that crap o line and that crap qb. It doesn't matter how good your offensive line is at pass blocking IF YOUR QB CAN'T THROW, much less put 4 plays together without losing yards on penalties. Somehow, the words "I told you so" just don't cover it. Franklin played 3 mediocre (at best) opponents and now they thought they were football gods. Like I said, first time they played a real team they would crumble, and crumble they did. Like a house of cards. The defense played terrible also. It's called adaptation, a concept that coach webb apparently cannot grasp. They couldn't adapt to Ooltewah just as they couldn't adapt to Oakland in the state championship last year. The rebels are incapable of playing a physical game against a physical team. And where were the franklin "trifecta" rbs? Ford - 14 for 70? Dye - 5 for 9? Of course I get my stats from the tennessean, so look for a margin of error, but still. 14 carries for 70 yards? I think ford finally stepped up onto the pedestal that everyone has set for him and turned into a crap player. With the type of football being played in Tennessee right now, the rebels can look forward to a few more wins this season, but this is a dying breath for a once great football team.

  7. Man you Franklin guys are worse than the owls on beating up on each other. Looking forward to another nail biter this week with two evenly matched teams. From what I read, you guys have a great D, a so-so O line, good running game trouble in the passing game and a good kicker. The Owls have a great D, a so-so line (did better last week against SD), trouble in the passing game (although we don't throw much) and a great kicker. It will probably come down to who puts the ball on the carpet or throws a pick or two. So far the owls have learned how to win the close ones and hopefully that expierence will help this week.

    Go Owls

This will be a defensive game. I don't know much about Ooltewah's offense but the defense will run the rebels into the ground. This years offensive line cannot handle a physical team. Gonna be a long night for the rebels come Friday.

  8. This week ends the offensive line debate. I can't wait to see the offensive line crumble under Ooltewah's defense. Even oversized beanie baby #78 Anderson will get demolished by the DE... Smith is his name I believe? Now we can finally see the true nature of the rebel o line this year. Get ready for a long game rebel RBs, since there won't be any holes open for you.

  9. HAHAHAHAH UNBELIEVABLE!!!! All I can say is unbelievable. I have never heard anyone say that pass pro is not a rep for the offensive line... haha so I guess the screens arent reps as well for linemen :bored: . Have you been to a football practice? For some programs that requires the most attention. They break it down with one on one's (OL vs. DL) and then bring it to group to acount for passing off or keying people when backers blitz. Pffffffffff... screens are another matter! Now, the linemen have to run out and get guys that are smaller and faster than them AND have to get the right people. YEAH... your right that doesnt sound like a rep. So, YES THEy GET REPS EVERYTIME THEY TAKE A SNAP. Pass pro is a major concern for balanced teams. SOOOO, Texas Tech... your telling me their a run first team pass second, Pur-lease. Yeah Texas Tech relied on the pass too much, :motorbike:. Their offensive production was amazing. Do you know what David Cutcliffe started out every game with? It was play action deep, and it was always somewhere in the first series. He wanted the defense to know that if you try to pack it in for the run, that he was gonna test you deep and you better be careful. Even if it was incomplete, the defense still has to respect it. I know why your WilcoShotgunner... you ve been shotgunnin too many :bored: . Start counting how many people that are inside the tackles and see how many you have blocking. Do the numbers.

GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!! Stick with your game and keep working hard!!

The only probelm with your argument is... a pass block is nothing like a run block. An offensive lineman does not sit back and wait for the defense to come on a run play. We are talking about a difference between a first step forward and a retreat... and anyone that has common football sense knows the first step decides the play. So no, running pass plays over and over has no effect on their lackluster run blocking, which explains why they aren't getting better.

  10. Last year the rebels had Nichols who could throw and Eaton who could catch. This year they have a QB who can't throw and the receivers look like a 5th grade flag football team. Offensive line barely even provides time for quivenan to throw. I honestly don't know how they are undefeated. Wait, yes I do, they've had no competition. I believe this week will be the first time the rebs will have a challenge. They can't handle it. The attitude "we are franklin rebels, we are guaranteed a win" won't last long when Centennial is running the ball down their throats and the almighty coach webb is scrambling around the sideline looking for players that aren't afraid to hit somebody... A daunting task indeed. The play calling from the pressbox needs to get sharper too. Any team that drives down to Brentwoods 20 then throws 3 straight passes needs to rethink their game plan. All of these things added up spell the first loss to Centennial... Coming to a local stadium near you this Friday.

  11. Your comments amuse me. Coaching will be the end of the rebels this week. I don't know who's bright idea it is to throw the ball all over the field when there are 3 of the "best" (in my opinion overrated and lazy) RBs in the backfield? Oh right.... Clayton. It's called a practice. It happens 4 days a week. And that's when the QB can get some throwing experience. But water under the bridge. This week these 3 "amazing" running backs will really be put to the test, and I believe the whole team will crack under the pressure.

  12. Don't assume that I am Mikruts older brother/ parent. I'm not. Don't sully their good name. My comment about Mikrut was an assumption due to the fact that his brother was a great QB and I would think that if his younger brother had any strive to be a better QB he would ask him to help. I repeat, I am not a Mikrut or have any relation to the Mikruts.

  13. Well we came into that game knowing nothing of Christian County. Now that the game's over all I can say is.... WOW. That's considered a state championship contender in Kentucky??? Why would a Williamson County team play a Kentucky team when almost any other team in the state could demolish that junk heap. And the answer? Clayton. Now we know why this "amazing" coach has such a great win/loss record. Look at the competition he had in Kentucky... Here's a clayton thought process for you, "let's head to another state so I can show off my sorry excuse for a QB to my boys back in Kentucky." As for the overrated running backs, Ford carried the ball how many times? That's right... 3. Why? Because this RB cannot be relied on to show leadership. The QB cannot be relied on to throw, hand the ball off, or anything else for that matter. The offensive line cannot be relied on to open up holes for the running backs. Maybe it's the o lines fault that the rebels are so bad this year. But I stand by what I said... This is just a sub par team with no leadership. Please don't rely on them to do anything this year. Sure Centennial may have lost players from last year. But according to everyone else, so has franklin. What people seem to forget is, this is a TEAM game. Individual players make little difference if the team is not backing them up. This is the case for franklin, so much individual talent but no TEAM, and a coaching staff that is mediocre at best will mark September 4th, 2009 as the day Centennial first beat fhs.

  14. Gahhhh... your brillant!!! Cant even realize when your being put down. Have you ever heard of two sport athletes before... it can happen for your information. I cant believe you want to compare a sophmore first time QB vs. a senior with three years experience... again ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD!! There is a reason why no one is looking for your advice for football because you dont know what you are talking about. What type of low life calls out a 15 year old! I will explain this again b/c you STILL cant understand this obviously but the team last year had three years experience except for Lee and Ford those overrated guys you speak of. Thats right the two overrated sophmores were a giant part of that state championship team. The ENTIRE line has been replaced except for 1 player, and you expect them to be perfect!!! Experience, experience, and experience helps remember that little grasshopper.

Quit openly dissing young players on this post, but keep posting like I mentioned... its shows how big of an IDIOT you are. Seriously you got great stuff little grasshopper. You are now little grasshopper I will educate you throughout the season and maybe you might grow a brain in football. Be good little grasshopper.

Someone needs to learn their football history. Nichols had 2 years experience. His sophomore year Sellars was the starting QB. The entire offensive line except for 2 was replaced last year also. Combos and Walkup were the only returning starters... yet somehow the rebels destroyed a 4a state championship contender in their first game. This year we see them BARELY scrape by a sophomore team in the form of BGA. The difference... like I said, no leadership from the rebels. NONE. As far as the QB.... If the 15 year old sophomore doesn't want to put in the off season work to start as a VARSITY QB, why is clayton so uppity on him starting? But I guess that's a clayton problem as much as a quievenan one. Franklin has 2 backup QBs if I'm told right, including Mikrut who has obviously put in the REQUIRED work and also been working with his older brother. As far as the defense... same leadership problem. This is just a sub-par team trying to ride on last years accomplishments.

  15. Are you kidding... please tell me your kidding b/c I dont want to believe that your that BIG of an idiot. I mean idiot too. First off, you judge the entire team off of one game... amazing. Second, you called the offensive line overrated and just who made claims that the O-line was suppose to be spectacular this year anyway. Coaches, players, students, or media? I havent heard of anyone establishing the O-line at Franklin as above average yet. Any high school athlete who rushes for 1,000 yards the previous season, another you rushed for over 950 yards deserves the right for the attention and hype entering a season, and Sean Dye starts the season off right by 99 yards on the ground. I guess that Chris Johnson for the Titans is overrated too if we are judging by Wilcoisthebest's comments. :thumb: "Baby G" you quote... also, shows how big of an idiot you are because if I remember correctly its "Little G", but I will let that slide b/c I think you are just trying to be cute. Little G is 15 years old and never played QB in middle school... he played receiver. He had a lot of zip on his passes and was not far off on three of his passes and threw a great pass to Lee on a screen. He will have to learn and grow as the season progresses. I am not even going to address the defensive comments b/c the had their backs against the wall 60 % of the time, they were on the field twice as long as the offense in the first half, they had a turnover inside their own 10 yrd line, numberous tackles for loss, and not to mention the OVERRATED Alex Ford had a 65 yrd interception return. Defense looks fine to me.

Keep posting and show everyone how big of an idiot you are for us... please. Your the type of guy who calls blackjack AFTER your friend hits 21... let me quess YOU JUST KNEW IT!!! Well your friend is up and your too afraid to play the game. I look forward to reading your posts in the future.

First off... I don't think that you can call blackjack BEFORE you hit 21. Now, on to football. Baby G, Little G, whatever you want to call that sorry excuse for a QB, does not, in any way shape or form, resemble Nichols. I don't doubt that this is his first year playing QB, but where was he during the off season? Not in the weight room, not on the field... that's right, he was in baseball. Really goes as a testament to pass happy Clayton when his "golden boy" new QB can't even take a snap or hand the ball off. The whole team transitioned from a well oiled machine to a rusted out shell. Maybe the great rebels will pull out a win here... probably not. I already said, they only have 9 games left. There is no hope for this has been team.
