  1. Sure I want to see Central do good, especially for a few Seniors, and their quality coaching staff (yes, Polk has a fine staff, too!). I also want to see Polk do good, but will be rooting for Central against Polk. And I guess that qualifies me as an arrogant fan just because I think Central will beat Polk? Am I calling you arrogant because you predict Polk will beat Central? How childish and immature some people can be! You think Bradley will "most likely" beat Cleveland? Just how confident are you of that statement?
  2. I wasn't the one who brought up Bradley, but responded to someone calling them a "solid" team. Telling the truth isn't bashing young men. Bradley ISN'T good - plain and simple. It's called fact. I was glad Polk beat them, especially since some Polk friends of mine felt they were robbed playing at Bradley when they Polk played them over 20 years ago (a statement many people from many teams have made the past 50 years). It would be hard to define "my" team, since I don't really have just one that I follow. My sons played football for McMinn County and yes they won the District, Region, and the first two rounds of the state playoffs, losing to eventual state champion Jefferson County in the quarterfinals. My Grandson played football for Meigs County when they won the District his Senior year, and was fortunate enough to play in a state playoff game all 4 years he was there. I have many close friends with children/grandchildren who presently play for both of these schools, as well as McMinn Central. I'm more familiar with the coaching staff (as a whole) at McMinn Central this year than anywhere else. May I suggest YOU stick to the thread topic as well and not be so concerned how teams I follow have done? Thank you!
  3. You were doing good until you stated Bradley was a solid team. Come on.......they're the perennial doormat for their District and will be fortunate to go 4-6. Still glad Polk beat them, though. I think Central and Polk is a good rivalry, and I don't see the "hate" you describe. Strong and competitive desire to beat one another, but not a hate as far as I can see. Maybe you and some other jealous Polk fans hate Central? And since you're a Polk fan, the "death wish threats" must have come from your folks. How sad......it's only a football game! I believe Central takes this one as easily as they did last year.
  4. and people think mcminn central fans were cocky! charger fans have nothing on this bradely central fan I've seen it all now......a Bradley fan trying to talk smack. You'd think being the annual 'District Doormat', Bradley might actually want to get above .500 and make the playoffs before they spouted off. But nooooooo, not Bradley fans. Same ol' song every year from Bradley in August.....but come November they're "watching" other teams in the playoffs.
  5. After reading what you said "If you break down the CCHS Marion film you would see that CCHS played w Marion for most of the game. Take away a few plays in the 1st half CCHS would have made this a very different ball game", I was under the impression that Cumberland was actually "in" the game with a chance of winning it. BUT, then I looked at the score and see that Cumberland lost 38-3????? Don't know about what the description of "playing with a team for most of the game" is on the plateau, but down this way getting your butt handed to you 38-3 means that you were more than a "few" plays away from beating them. Maybe you ought to go into selling used cars with a pitch you gave!
  6. I'm picking the McMinn Central Chargers - in an upset. I think it will depend whether McMinn Central can overcome the physical and emotional game they played against McMinn Co.........losing 14-10 (and had 1 touchdown called back).
  7. As a TEAM, Bradley is s-l-o-w. A couple of good runs against a much smaller team is nothing that constitutes speed, other than having one back with good (not great) speed. Bradley's line is huge, but they're overweight and out of shape. Bradley had a 13 point lead but a the game wore on the lack of conditioing for the Bears was evident, and Polk's smaller and quicker team took control and played smash-mouth football. The Bears had no answer. And if you think Polk is tough, just wait until you get into the games with the District teams.
  8. I know what you're saying, but I believe Coach Goodin has changed things considerably at Central......for the good! He's a church-going family man, and he believes in discipline. I think the players, assistant coaches, and fans welcome it.
  9. Coffee County just fumbled 9 times and lost 7 of them in one game. Wouldn't count on anybody winning this game. But, since I know very little about Bradley, would like some information. What kind of players? big, fast, small, slow, what kind of offense. Hope everybody has a safe trip Friday from Cleveland. S L O W
  10. I thought it was a very good, hard-hitting game....played clean by both sides. I commend both coaches for preparing their teams for battle, and instructing the players to play hard, but not cheap. Yes, I'm sure there were a few incidents that took place, but nothing serious or any more than you expect between rivalries. McMinn Central was far more disciplined than they have been for the last 3 years, so I applaud Coach Goodin and his staff for returning order to the team. That will pay dividends down the road.
  11. Looks like the same ol' Bradley to me. Coffee County by 13
