  1. Cornersville at the Forrest Playday: Gm#1 - Lost to Collinwood by 10pts played terrible. Gm #2 - Defeated Cascade by 7, played better. Gm #3 - Lost to Oakland by single digits. The starters had a BIG lead, Coach Landers put in the Freshman Team late in the first half. They finished the game & gave up the lead. Keep in mind that Cornersville was without All District 11A & All Region 6A star Haley Fagan who was on a recruiting visit to the University of Georgia that weekend. On Wednesday Nov 4th the Lady Bulldogs (w/Fagan) destroyed Giles County in a scrimmage. Next up - Community next Tuesday. GO LADY DAWGS!!

When the Moore County moved into this District those in the know knew that the Balance of Power would shift. That balance of Power will shift much faster now with the addition of Jodie Brown to MCHS. If everything falls into place, Jodie's family is moving to Lynchburg and she will be joining the Raiderettes. Jodie spent her Freshman & Sophmore years at Sewanee where she was a DII Miss Basketball Finalist. Jodie has played AAU for Moore County for several years and will fit right into the MCHS program. She is 6'1" and is a Beast inside. Jodie's reunion with fellow AAU mates Heather Vann, Rachel Garland will make an already good team a Class A Power. Look Out Forrest! Your reign as 9A Champion may be about to END!
  3. Can't wait til season starts! Not much to discuss until then. Looking forward to the Cornersville match-ups with Cascade, Wayne Co & Collinwood at the Forrest HS Playday this Saturday. I did notice on the Forrest playday Post that Cornersville's (Jr.) Haley Fagan won't be there. She is a major college prospect in softball (Alabama, UT, Miss State & UGA) and will be on a recruiting visit to Univ of Georgia this weekend. Looks like a chance for someone else to get some playing time and for Coach Landers to start building some depth early.
  4. What about this District this year? The addition of Loretto will make it very interesting especially if Kinsley Williams plays. I heard she quit the team. Here are my preseason picks! Can't wait to hear the response to this! 1). Wayne County 2). Loretto (w/Williams) 3). Perry Co 4). Summertown 5). Collinwood 6). Frank Hughes
  5. Well Said MC. My daughter is a HS Junior and is being recruited by several D1 Schools. The D1 Coaches that have contacted us after Sept 1st are thrilled that the TSSAA made the decision to quickly move to 43'.
  6. Looks Like Ptguard12 and I are on the same page. I could not agree more with your analysis. Good Stuff!
  7. I'll stick to my guns on the predictions made above! For the reasons mentioned above. Looking into District 12A, I heard that Kinsley Williams has quit Loretto. That will be a BIG BLOW to that ball club.
  8. My District 11A Picks: #1. Cornersville #2. Santa Fe #3. RHS #4. CA #5. Culleoka #6. Hampshire #7. Mt. Pleasant Cornersville will win D11 & be dangerous to ANYBODY they play. Nelms, Fagan, & Hopkins will provide too much firepower! Needless to day that Micah Landers will out coach the rest of the field. Dodson & her BIG sophomore supporting cast will battle Richland for 2nd. Dodson will be the difference between 2nd & 3rd IF she stays healthy. Richland will be dangerous, but the exodus of some key players has hurt their depth and will show down the stretch and at "crunch time". CA will surprise some and should be a SOLID 4th place. CA wants that trip to the Region 6A tourney BAD! Be carefull what you ask for! Wayne Co or Loretto await "ouch!" Cully "should" hold off Hampshire & Mt. Pleasant, but Hampshire will be better than in past years.
  9. Cornersville will be very good in a Weak district 11A, but Region 6A will belong to a very strong District 12A. Cornersville's success will be directly proportional to the following: #1. Senior Leadership: If the Seniors will put the underclasses ahead of themselves and lead with actions instead of words. #2. If (Sr.) Nelms will focus more on assist, defense and quit hitting (mopping) the floor so much. Put winning ahead of getting to 2000pts. Her points will come naturally if she don't force it. #3. If (Sr.) Cook will step-up mentally, play defense, rebound, and not get into foul trouble. #4. (Sr.) Wheeler MUST allow herself to be coached, and have a good attitude. #5. (Jr.) Endsley must step up mentally, understand her role and be consistent. #6. (Fr.) Rogers a potential future "stud" must step up not play like a Freshman. #7. (Jr.) Fagan & (So) Hopkins continue to improve on their stellar play. I heard they had a good Summer in AAU. These two are winners and will "Bring it" every night!
