  1. The roster can be added to during the season.
  2. From the stats I've seen, these are the overall records and records against the "so-called" top 10 teams in Chattanooga. Don't get me wrong, this could be the top 10 in Chattanooga. Not everyone will agree with the order or the selections. Feel free to post updated records, along with records against these teams. 1. Soddy-Daisy: 49-9 (17-3) 2. Baylor: 27-12 (9-5) 3. Red Bank: 33-15 4. Ooltewah: 40-16 5. Notre Dame 6. GPS: 35-17 (10-8) 7. East Hamilton: 30-9 (3-9) 8. Signal Mt: 32-20 9. Walker Valley 10. Hixson
  3. The losses were to Baylor, in a best of 3 match. Soddy was ahead 13-0 in the first set, and won big. Soddy had an injury early in the second set and found a way to loose, 1-2. The next time Soddy played Baylor, Soddy won 3-1. Soddy won the Tandem Tournament, but dropped matches to Ooltewah and and GPS. Both matches saw Soddy take the first set, before dropping both by 1-2 scores. Soddy has beaten Ooltewah 3 times, 3-1, 3-0, and 3-2. Soddy beat GPS 3-0 the next time they played.
  4. Pop Quiz: Post the overall records of Chattanooga's Top 10 and their records against each other. 1. Soddy-Daisy: 47-9 (16-3) 2. Baylor: 28-11 3. Red Bank: 33-15 4. Ooltewah 5. Notre Dame 6. GPS: 35-17 7. East Hamilton: 29-9 8. Signal Mt: 32-20 9. Walker Valley 10. Hixson Soddy Daisy is 16-3 in matches played against the teams listed above, and has wins out of the Chattanooga area against Farragut, Anderson County, Blackman, Page, Karns, and Hardin Valley. This all sounds good, but "nearly" anything can happen in post season play. Good luck, Soddy Daisy

  6. Soddy Daisy over Ooltewah 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-16). Making a top 10 list is tough, but at least someone is doing it. Better you than me, your doing a good job.
  7. Good point, but it doesn't have to be a coach to report scores. I agree, the scores should be posted. CoachT is a great place to post scores. If only one of the teams report the score, CoachT records it for both schools and keeps the records on file. Coaches and fans can log onto CoachT and get reported scores from all over the state.
  8. By the way; Playing "best out of 5" is a better gauge for evaluating teams. Beating someone 2-1 gives me the impression that the match could have gone either way. Should be some good volleyball this weekend in Brentwood!
  9. Got an idea; It would be nice to see the records of all the teams and who they have played. With this information, we could make our own evaluations. From what I've read, GPS was 4-4 going into the Choo Choo tournament and Baylor is 13-4 now. I know Soddy Daisy is 17-3 currently. I don't know what the records are for Sullivan South, Signal Mountain, Red Bank, Ooltewah, or Walker Valley. CoachT has a web-site for all the schools to post their games. Simply, click onto "team schedules" and pull up your team or anyother team to check the record for who they've played and what the score was. There is also a place to check for comparing records. This spot shows how the teams did against class A, AA, AAA, and private schools.
  10. Sorry guys, I'm "Mister Coach Johnson." My wife, "the coach" would shoot me if she knew I was saying anything about her team, however, I'm not very scared. I know we have a lot of girls playing club volleyball and that sure helps. We are so blessed to have, not only hard working girls, but girls that come from well disciplined homes. Coach Lorri knows that "winning breds winning." I'll add a little "fuel to the fire" by telling everyone that Lorri is from Anderson County. And no, there is nothing in the water there to make you a better player. Hard work, desire, and a lot of discipline is a good start. After Coach Lorri reads this, I'll try to get her to answer your questions.
  11. The games Friday will determine the schedule for Saturday. I think the #1's and #2's will advance to the gold pools. Should be some "super" volleyball being played.
  12. This would be East Hamilton High School. I think they are a AA school, playing a AA schedule.
  13. Way to early to be picking the top 10.
  14. What some folks think might have been an upset, Soddy came into Cleveland feeling pretty good about themselves. After all, Soddy Daisy topped Cleveland 3 straight matches last year, winning them all 3-0. Cleveland is a much improved team said Coach Lorri Johnson. Last year we handled them but I knew coming in they would be tough to beat in their own gym. Soddy Daisy jumped out to a 8-1 lead in the first game and finished 25-20. The second game saw Cleveland jump out to a 8-1 lead. Cleveland won that game 25-17. The Lady Trojans won both the third and fourth games. Game 3 was 25-15 and game 4 was 25-19. Our play around the net was solid tonight, said Coach Lorri Johnson. Rachel Shaughnessy, Jessica Smith, Kelly Ware, and Andrea Johnson combined for 8 stuff blocks and 18 touch blocks. Our serving continues to be a strong point for us as we were 84 of 91. Shelby Garren was 21 of 22 with 4 aces. Shelby also recorded 14 assists. Kelly Ware was 13 of 13 serving with 4 aces. Sarah Davis and Rachel Shaughnessy combined for a total of 33 out of 35 serves in play. Andrea Johnson totaled 11 kills, 9 assists, and 5 aces. Soddy is now 4-1 in District 5-AAA and is now 16-4 over all.
