  1. CONGRATS TO SETH MUNASQUE (OFFENSIVE LINEMAN) AND CHASE TRAVIS (TAILBACK) FOR MAKING THE ALL-DISTRICT FIRST TEAM FOR CLASS 3-AA DISTRICT. THEY BOTH HAS INCREDIBLE SEASONS AND THEY ARE JUST SOPHOMORES. ALSO, CONGRATS TO THEIR TEAMMATES (Oscar Aleman, Shane Ball, and Michael Lombrama) WHO MADE ALL-DISTRICT SECOND TEAM. CHECK OUT THE MOUNTAIN PRESS ON SUNDAY TO SEE THE FULL ARTICLE. WE LOVE YOU GUYS AND KNOW THAT ONLY GREAT THINGS ARE TO COME.
  2. r946ch--where are you getting your info? I have a "starter" at PFHS who is happy with the coaches and his teammates. They encourage, uplift, and have alot of fun while teaching skills (on and off the field) that these young men will be able to use for a lifetime of success. You evidently get your info not by being actually within the program but by the way you want it to be. Leave the kids and coaches alone; parents are pleased and the kids are pleased. Step off!
  3. Thanks for this poem--while two more seasons away, I dread the "final snap of the ball."
  4. What's with all the shouting?!? This is a message board to make comments--positive or negative. You should stop wearing your feelings on your sleeves! Now, to put my two cents worth in this shoutfest: why is it that most people hinge a game on the capabilities of the runners only--the last time I counted the players on the field there were 11 on each side of the ball. 11 kids playing their hearts out just so the ball (not necessarily one single player) makes it across the line. Defensively, PF has had 599 tackles this season--nothing to be scoffed at. Our back is an AWESOME athlete who pours his soul and his spirit into the game each time he steps onto the field. I have known him since little league football, he has played orange/black ball since starting at Pigeon Forge. His abilities and talents are God-given and he carries it well. He also shares that alot of his field accomplishments would not be possible without his O-line. That says alot for this young man as he shoulders a tremendous load of responsibility while wearing orange and black. He is just as amazing off the field as on the field and has tremendously supportive parents who are proud of their son, and rightfully so. Just as I am proud of the accomplishments my son has achieved this season, playing both O-line and D-line, only coming out of the game during kick-offs, kick-off receiving and punts. This is just his sophomore year, the same as Chase. All of the young athletes on this team give 110 percent each time they pad up. Give credit to them as a whole--after all, it is a TEAM sport.
  5. Chase Travis IS a great playmaker at PF; but, it's not always all about the running game. Why don't we give SOME credit to the O-line for making the holes he goes through and the D-line for taking care of business and stopping the other teams offense! There are some tremendous play makers all over the field!
  6. Evidently "pfan" has some deep seeded issues with "Coach Lee" that aren't being shared. However, the players who returned to the team were not returned without thought and much discussion took place. These young men will contribute and if their teammates aren't opposed to them being back, then why should any one else be concerned. We are not the ones strapping on the pads, tying up the cleats and going out there hitting and running many miles. Oh, by the way, the young men did not start back on a walk through day or no contact day. I was at the practice where they returned and watched those two young men run lengths of the field after all the other players had gone on to the locker room--they are putting in the time!
  7. There is alot of posting taking place in regards to PF Football from people that I feel know absolutely nothing first hand about the program, the coaches, or the players. There have been statements that there are NO athletes on the team. I know personally one young man who puts in an hour daily before school in the weight room at the PF Community Center (at 6 a.m., and has done so preparing for the awesome opportunity to play PF ball). He is also in Advanced Wellness which means he is lifting for another hour and a half, once again, preparing for PF ball. He plays both sides of the ball and he had poured his life into this sport so when you say there are NO athletes, you are much in error. There are also other players who pour themselves into the sport and it shows every Friday night. I appreciate the positive notes, as a parent of a player its great to know that there are those who believe in this program, the players, and the coaches. It will make a turn around in the next couple of years! Coach Hammonds and his staff are positive and uplifting. He has encouraged us as parents to be positive and believe in the program as he does. Go PF TIGERS!
  8. As a lifetime fan of Pigeon Forge football, I feel compelled to comment on the statements posted here today. First of all, the second post that states "real PF football" would be the PeeWees. While I agree they are a significant part of real PF football--we need to remember that it starts with the Grasscutters and moves up through the high school program--all working together to build a strong program and tradition the players, fans, students, etc. can be proud of. Not taking away from either program but understanding that it takes ALL to make it work! Secondly to the first post, we should be out there building these young men up-not breaking them down with our words and attitudes that transfer to those young men. Their work ethic is strong, they are proud to wear orange and black, the coaching staff encourages them in their accomplishments, they take the field each week with their heads held high! They have been out there is extreme temperatures in the summer working their tails off without a bit of thanks for what they do; maybe you would like to pad up and hit with some of our linemen--some who bench press over 400 lbs. and leg press over 1000 lbs. Their desire to play is exemplified just by their presence on the field each week. I have had a player through the high school program through EVERY coach that has been there and can say that this staff has brought pride, honor, glory, encouragement, knowledge, strength, and positive attitudes to the program. This was not always present. My current TIGER has come up from Grasscutter to Pee Wee to Middle Schooler to High Schooler and has never once hung his head and said Woe is Me but carried himself, along with his teammates, as being blessed to be a Tiger! Stop breaking them down!
