  1. i'm sure justin woulda made a difference in the webb game and prolly woulda helped da win a little easier but u need to know that the kid who is at rb as his replacement is a stud and he's only a sophomore.
  2. Prepfbll, ur right i read ur post and took it to mean that u thought webbs lines were big physically. sry bout that. should be a good game. just curious, what game did u see webb play?
  3. Ya, i've heard ecs is the best team in d2 a and they should win it all. if there is no comparison between them and dca then they must be really strong. if webb is able to put together a good game this friday against st. georges and win then it sounds like its gonna be a long trip to memphis and get their butts whipped. webb dresses less then 50. i can't imagine a school with ecs enrollment dressing that many. good win over dca, they r very talented at the skill positions and lines and good luck against usj.
  4. Prepfbll, i wonder when u have seen webb play cause if u did u would know that webb doesn't have big dominate lines on either side of the ball. instead they rely on speed, quickness & technique to block. i don't see them dominating anyone physically since they prolly average about 215 lbs. I'll agree about webbs lbs and dbs. the lbs r fast, aggressive and r the leading tacklers. webbs cbs r fast and cover. webbs 2 safeties r really good. they r very fast and agressive. like i said, if sg can hold their own in the lines then they will give webb trouble. 1 thing i'm pretty sure about is that sg prolly hasn't seen rbs as fast & quick as webbs. they r all small but can break it at any time.
  5. ur right, webb is very fast especially on defense. their lbs and dbs r very fast. all of their backs r fast and can break it the distance. webb struggled against da and dca in the trenches. if st georges has above average lines then they will give webb trouble. if webbs lines can hold their own then webbs speed will be tough for st georges to deal with.
  6. wow, i surprised that dca lost. webb had trouble with them at home and i felt that they were a solid team for sure. what happened in this game? for dca to lose at home was a surprise i think.
  7. heard a lot about ecs being the best of all the d2 a teams. i haven't seen em play or anything but from what i've read it sounds like they have great lines on both sides and run the ball. what r their strengths & weakness. good luck in ur game against dca, they're tough. it'll be a hard fought game... they are physical on both sides of the ball. they also play with class which i noticed in their game at webb last week. it'll be interesting to hear how they compare to ecs. webb might see them down the road.
  8. saw dca last week against webb. they r a very good team and have alot of good athletes. penalties really hurt them against webb and they gave up a coupla big plays. they r tough against the run. i hope they win. i'd like to see how they do against usj.
  9. nice post wildcat. u made some good points about the game and how it should play out. it should be a close game 4 sure. if dca has above average lines then they will give webb trouble like da did. ur right that webb has speed at rb at all 3 positions so if webbs o line can block dca better than they did against da then i would expect them to be able to run. the 1 thing about webbs defense besides the d line needing to step up is they have very fast lbs and dbs, prolly the fastest dca has seen so far.
  10. duece... if i were da i would just continue to do what u did against webb. run dixon and lewis over and over. with ur line i can't imagine any d2 a team stopping u. should u have beaten dca?
  11. if webb beats dca then da gets the #1 seed. dca would fall out of tiebreaker since they would be 8-2 and webb and da would be 9-1. da gets head to head and #1 seed at that point. ur right, da had lines that easily dominated webb. i wasnt there either but from people i talked to who were that was obvious. also heard that they had a very good rb and alternated qbs. one of the two was a very good runner so they do have some skill players. the field was a mess however it got that way. wet and very muddy really hurt webbs execution of the wingt.
  12. okay, let me get the big crayons out and try to make this as simple as possible for u to understand. the point is u said webb shulda beat fra worse than 35-14. the fact is they beat them by the exact same margin as dca who u said "handled" them and they did it without their #1 rb. again, my point is only related to ur comments about the webb vs fra game and has nothin to do with the webb vs davidson game which was won by davidson who dominated webbs lines.
  13. and that has WHAT to do with the webb vs fra game?
  14. r u serious? a scrimmage? unless it was played like a game then it doesn't really mean jack. u have no idea what ur talkin about. webb beat fra without their #1 rb who didn't even make the trip. i never blamed the loss on a wet field. i already sed that ur lines handled webbs and that was the game. my point is the wet and muddy field however it got that way hurt webbs offense
  15. dude, what are u talkin about? davidson didn't play fra and dca beat them 27-6. so how is dca beatin fra 27-6 handlin them and webb beatin them 35-14 not? who from webb said the davidson loss was a fluke? i know i said from the start that da manhandled webbs line and controlled the line of scrimmage. da was the better team friday night in those conditions. with a dry field and grass that isnt 4 inches long it coulda been a little different. webb didnt know what to expect this year after graduating their entire o and d lines. as it has turned out they have beatin all region teams except da easily and mercy ruled all but fra in their wins. they also beat 3 5a schools one who was ranked #3 in state at the time. ur right, the playoffs will be interesting...
  16. webb's gonna have to get their lines to step up and play better then they did at da if they r gonna make a run in the playoffs. I dunno what dca lines are like but if they r as good as da then webb will have a tuff time winning this one unless their lines play better then they did at da.
  17. i say they r puttin that out there cause they know they r gonna lose to bearden and they need an excuse.
  18. thanks for sortin this out. so i guess a #2 seed from e/m is higher than a #2 seed from west district 2. that's what i wasn't sure about.
  19. yeah i heard from someone who was there that da was acting like they won the super bowl or sumthin after the game. what's up with that... i mean they won state 3 outta the last 4 so you'd think they would act like they been there before. besides that i was told that da dominated webbs d line and just ran the ball down their throats. webbs o line wasn't able to get anything done either against da. the field was muddy for both teams so i dont see that as a reason for webb to complain. webb needs to get their lines ready cause the teams they will see in the playoffs will have good lines just like da.
  20. Okay, so if webb wins against dca they have a bye and then play at home or away in the 2nd round? If they lose it looks like they host in 1st round then prolly will travel to jackson, right?
  21. Just talked to a friend of mine who went to the game and he said that davidson dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides. webbs lines couldnt compete with davidsons. Webb couldnt get anything going in the running game at all. davidson threw the ball less than 5 times and ate clock. Congrads to davidson they must have a really good team because webb is good.
  22. Yeah, webb's only real test they passed this year so far was against #3 in 5A knox catholic. They got a coupla other 5A schools that weren't very strong. They pretty much have rolled everybody else. I think this game will be very tuff. Prolly go either way but i know the spartans are pretty focus this year.
  23. I agree with jake. Catholic chooses to play several kids both ways. They have the numbers to not do that but choose not to. If ur gonna do that then u need to condition the players to go both ways. I watch webb play prolly 7 kids both ways each week and they seem to be able to handle it. I know webb's kids are in shape because they make a point to make sure they r cause of playin both ways.
  24. heard game was canceled and wont be made up cause mt. juliet forfeighted the game. webb gets the win. Is that possible, does tssaa allow this?
  25. ya, he kept sayin that catholic didn't have any depth. well they have close to 100 kids on the team. they choose to play kids both ways. sounded like excuses to me. webb got them an they have less than 50 players including freshmen. Congratulations on that win. Did you ever beat Catholic? Never did. what's ur point? I'm sayin the lack of depth excuse is just that, an excuse.
