  1. bo wallace...please, give me a break, one of our guys sacked him three times in 1 quarter, hes not that good. we do have talent!!!!
  2. i happen to know that some of these boys who are starting on the team this year ,are there due to their own merits, not because of who their parents are. im not disputing that it does happen, i guess being part of a small town and all is to blame. there is a lack of discipline on the team, but only with just a FEW players, i dont think as a whole, they have that problem. i know these young men to work hard, if u go to a few practices you will see the ones that work hard, and you will see whos over there huddled up together, goofing off and talking. heck, u could see it when they were warming up last night on the field. there are some kids, and just a few who arent giving it thier all, and if coach can get these few kids, and he knows who they are ,to behave and listen to him , and act as a team with their other players, you will see us win. i do agree with jabbo about one thing, they did play much better last night. i think we had a shot to win this win, until a fatal mistake was made in the 3 quarter, that i believe, got the teams momentum down. hence, another example of what im talking about. i did see more hustle also. i dont think the final score reflected the way we played the game. so to you falcon players out there, you did good. keep it up. i disagee with the naysayers about the talent on the team. this team is REALLY talented. its just a few boys have got to be reigned in with some discipline and i think then we could have a great team. and falcons, yes columbia is good, but, play like you did the first half of this game and you will do fine, dont buy into all the hype that columbia is a better team than you, go out there, give it your all. no one said you guys could beat riverdale last year either, but you did. so go falcons!
  3. No, I don't have a kid on the team, but my kids have played other sports and I've seen first hand what happens when disgruntled parents or fans undermine the coaches. It typically happens when some parent thinks little Johnny isn't playing enough, so rather than tell little Johnny he needs to kick it up a notch (or maybe even let him know that sometimes folks don't recognize your talent and unfairness results - this is a lesson that will help him out for the rest of his life), the parent undermines the coach (and the rest of the team) by badmouthing him to his kid and his kid's teammates. It's nothing more than selfishness masquerading as righteousness. Hey Jabbo, my "little" Johnny as u put it, not playing enough is not the problem, playing too much is. mainly because, there are other kids on the team who arent doing THEIR jobs and my kid has to play their spot and his too. My "little" Johnny has already had several different big schools looking at him, so its not about having fun for him. this is business. its about people on the team doing their job, so he can do his job. all this crap about having "fun", give me a break, do u not know where u live? this is lincon county tn. if u want to have fun playing a sport, go back to middle school, or maybe go play soccer. im all for the guys being together on stuff, and having a good time, but when its time to get out on that field, its business, especially for some of these boys, whos future is on the line, and who depend on the rest of thier team acting as a team. no one, is a bigger falcon fan than i am. and i will continue to support the team and coaches, however, on the other hand, the TEAM aint going to be there, when these kids graduate.
  4. i dont think anyone can blame this problem entirely on the coaching staff. although i do believe their is some room for improvement, your players have to want to work their hardest to further their team. there are some kids on this team who do try to play that way. and jabbo..... im curious do you have a kid on the falcon team? im guessing not. but those of us who do, cant wait till next season, some of these kids actually have enough talent to take it to the next level. we could all turn a blind eye i guess but, when your kids future is at stake i dont hardly see how you can do that.
  5. did someone ask for strength and weaknesses?? well let me tell you. ive been watching these same group of kids play football for 5 years now. everyone says, the falcons are young and thats why they have not won any games. is everybody watching the same games i am? there are some kids on this team who have so much talent and potential. and who have honestly been working the whole 5 years, even in the off season, i mean who have busted their tails.. but no one seems to notice. does anyone besides me, have a clue why we cant seem to win a football game? its really hard to score, when your running back cant seem to make it through a hole that an offensive lineman has made for him, the size of texas. or when the offensive lineman, is blocking and the running back, instead of running behind him like he should, starts running where HE thinks he is not going to get hit as bad or even at all. if u will watch this next game, please for the love of god, watch the offensive line block and watch the running back do exactly what i just said, play after play. you might be asking yourself, well how do you know hes going to do that in THIS game. well im not a mindreader, but, until the coaches will step up and say something to these kids when they do stuff like that, its going to keep happening. and we will keep losing. they are making the other falcon players look like fools. if you are scared to get hit, then u need to play a different sport. because there are some players on this team that ACTUALLY have a bright future playing football. but because of the lack of effort by a few, that are not being given the chance that they deserve. defensive is the exact same story, youve got the lineman, giving it all they got , but the secondary is not up to snuff, for the some of the same reasons stated above. if the coaches can actually get some of these kids to care, my hats off to them, beacause, there aint been a coach so far that can. i dont mean to dog any of our players, im not trying to be negative, but there is a problem here, i think i speak for alot of fans who just want to see it get fixed. so call it constructive criticism. i just dont want us all to be on here next year, griping about the same things, and by then we cant use the excuse that is a " young team" because thats really not the problem.
