  1. My 2 cents! Nothing against Coach Kerr but they are just putting off the inevitable. Josh got the job because of politics and went into the Clinton job without a fair chance. He and his Dad are the faces of Anderson County Mavs football to all Clinton Dragons. The people that have been around Clinton for years don't care for him(or his dad) because of this. Truthfully, i dont think he has done anything to make many friends in the community either. He also came into the job with one year as a head coach and now has like 4 wins in 3 years as a head coach. He may be a great guy and a great coach but he is not a head coach. Clinton lost a lot of talent this year and will have less talent next year than this year. Kids are already talking about jumping ship if Kerr sticks around. They may not be able to physically transfer, but they might as well leave. There is some talent coming up from middle school but they will probably attend another school because of Kerr and Clinton's program. Think about this, There are 2 future Division one football players that attended CHS that now attend other schools because of Coach Kerr and program. Another former Clinton middle player is starting for Powell and is still playing in semi finals this week. Find a coach that will keep the players home! They need a coach that will be involved in youth programs, middle school program and community. I know there is more to life in Clinton than CHS football but if a change doesn't happen now, the program is just going to sink even deeper. Coach Kerr needs to be a great assistant at AC or Campbell Co. The Dragons will be lucky to win more than 2 or 3 games next year and probably won't dress out more than 30 kids. Is that what the powers that be want? Probably more than 2 cents worth but I would like to see the program turn around. Sorry but Coach Kerr being there another year is not what is best. This is nothing against Coach Kerr as a person and I truly wish Coach Kerr the best and hope that CHS gets it turned around. Get political favors out of the hiring process and find someone who will build a program! Good luck!
  2. So, since I am being yelled at with capital letters and being talked to quite harshly, you must be an insider school board member or parent that has been responsible for helping make these coaches miserable and/or leave. I know plenty about the situation and know Coach Herron well enough. I also know how people run their mouths about people to try to degrade them and start rumors about them so that they can get their agenda pushed. I beleive that Coach Herron had support from some school board members and community members as well. Just not the right ones!! Since you know all things that is fine and I will be done with the conversation. But we will wait and see what continues to happen at LC. What Coach will be next? I seriously hope that it works out for LCHS and for the kids sake. I hope Coach Kirkland retires there and the next coach girls coach they hire. I hope Coach Zeller spends 20 years there and Coach Mayes does a great job with baseball for years to come. But it is hard enough to win at LC with their talent level in the Region they are in when the pressure is so intense and coaches are not getting opportunities to build a program. Ask any coach that has been there and left recently and they will tell you. And I am definitely not one of them. Good luck at LC and sorry I struck a nerve. You should probably back up from the situation and look at without your rose colored glasses.
  3. I'm guessing political bull crap! Coach Herron seemed to be a good person and a good coach. Some parent wasnt happy because little "Suzie" didn't get enough playing time. The parents ran off Joe Lee. Then they ran off Coach Wright and now Coach Herron. They lost 4 head coaches from the boys side in 3 years. They ran off the last head football coach 4 years ago and lost the head baseball coach last year. There is a serious problem somewhere with the administration and school board of Lenoir City Schools. Who is actually running the school system? Whoever has the power or the money! They have become a laughing stock among high school sports and coaching. Now they are in the news because they are taking the traditional prayer out of school board meetings and football games. It's sad because Lenoir City is a great little city with some terribly ran schools! Just my personal opinion. Good luck with the next hire!!
  4. I really do wish Clinton the best but like you said, he was 3-17 at White County. He is taking over a 4-6 Clinton team that just lost the best athlete to hit Clinton in over 20 years or longer and was most of their offense last year. There is no way that this was a resume hire! Maybe he wowed them in the interview!! Good luck. Maybe Coach Kerr can start recruiting some athletes to clinton like dad did at AC! Can't hurt!!
  5. I called this one when Andy resigned. Josh may be a great head coach and may do great things for Clinton High School football but the good ole boy network is still strong in Anderson County!! If you graduated from Anderson County you automatically get head coaching jobs, director jobs, or principal jobs in that school system. Not to mention Lying Larry is still going strong! Is there anybody from Clinton High School in a position of authority there? Sorry about the rant! Good luck Josh! I really do think you will do a good job but just hate politics in the school systems. Go Dragons and Coach Kerr!
  6. Sorry guys but Scotty won't be the head coach. Anderson County schools won't let an administrator be head coach. I think he would be great but he won't give up Assistant Principal and AD for the head coaching job at Clinton. Cut in pay and about the same amount of time commitment. Not to mention more pressure. They won't run an Assistant Principal and AD out of town but they will a coach. I putting money on Patrick leaving Clinton! Then this job just got a whole lot harder. Kerr will be the head coach!!
  7. Andy Shattuck is a great guy! He loved Clinton High School football and wanted nothing more than success for it. I coached with him and coached against him and have nothing but the most respect for him. Good luck with whatever he feels led to do and go spend some time with that baby girl and wife! It's going to be hard for anyone to be successful in Clinton! Coaches with inside track: Josh Kerr, Randy McKamey?? Who else? Or will new "outsider" administration go outside of the system?
  8. Space, I just got through complaining about you on another thread but I probably have to agree with you on this one. I see AC winning by at least 24 points. I don't want to say anything bad about the Dragons but I believe that they have run out of steam and fight and AC is peaking. But that is the reason they play the game, it will be a fight either way!!
  9. After reading numerous posts of yours, I don't think anyone impresses you!! Did you even go to the game? The score was 13-0 at half time and that was because of a double pass with 35 seconds to go in the half and an apparent major bust by a DB. HV had lost over 100 yards of offense in the first half because of a bunch of penalties. The second half was even with both teams scoring 2 touchdowns in the second half and HV having a pass bounce off a receiver in the endzone only to be intercepted by AC. HV's best offensive player was knocked out of the game in the third quarter by his own teammate as well. I don't have a dog in the fight and am not making excuses for HV. As a matter of fact, friday night, AC was the better team. But "won pretty easy" is probably a little bit of off. With AC's new found running attack, I beleive AC could go deep in the playoffs. AC is getting better each week and it seems that Powell is not. That could be a great game whenever they would match up. I think AC beats Clinton by at least 24 points. Good luck to HV! I think they might get to the second round of playoffs in only there 2nd year of varsity football.
  10. Did you see Cam Newton for Auburn today? That is what Patrick should be doing on Friday nights. I agree with you. AC established a running game last night against HVA and will be more balanced and dangerous from now on. Sorry Dragons but AC wins this one.
  11. Thanks for the info. I hate that for the kid! Second man always gets caught. Probably provoked but you gotta stay under control.
  12. Thanks for the truth Popcorn!! No one seems to have seen the incident or #22 not play. Did happen toward the end of the game?
  13. The player that left the field after the play on the sideline?!?! Oh that helps! MavMaximus, the person that told me about the ejection was very adamant about it. He said that someone was ejected and it was a fact. I am curious about the situation and really want to know if this person's character is that low that he would just lie to get a rise out of me. Oh well, I guess nobody really knows!! Anybody know the truth, please stand up!!
  14. #22 was the player that I was told got ejected. I am trying to figure out if I was lied to or if it was the truth. If a man lies, it may come back to bite him in the buttttt! I can't stand a liar!!
