  1. I'll give you my prediction when it gets closer to game day. It will be a blowout though. As much hype as this team has I don't think he really needs to prove much. They were # 2 and I think they dropped to 3rd, which are both the highest they've ever been ranked. This doesn't mean he's not going to run the score up though. I think doing this is more about getting certian players their stats more than impressing people. Winning impresses enough. Slim Shady
  2. I've wondered that myself. Think OC may be trying to keep him at a low profile? If the playoff teams are going to view film, you know who they are going to key on. I don't think that's the case because Houston has been a big factor the past two years. I think everyone knows that he is a threat. I agree. You know, he has the skills to go onto the next level and if he is with a good team with good coaches, he may even go further. I've listened to him talk on the radio after some of the games (one that I remember well) and he doesn't sound dumb. How are his grades? I hear Wallace's are too good.
  3. I think he can and deserves to play college ball. I'm not sure about any offers though. He doesn't get enough hype or attention like some other players. Not sure why though. Hmmm. Maybe someone outside of G.C. can chime in and tell what they hear and think.

  5. What do you think the score will be? I'll take a gamble here and say it will be G.C. in the high 40's perhaps even in the 50's if the second and third string do good. I'll also go out on a limb and say the second D gives up two scores... If OC calls the dogs off late, the score may get into the high 50's. You know, OC may try to prove to the pollsters G.C. is really good.-Like the Lawrenceburg game.
  6. I bet you would like another deep threat! My sentiments exactly! I agree that Houston is going to be the key. He really needs some carries to help his stats in the upcoming games against lesser opponents but I'm sure OC is smart enough not to put him in situations to get hurt. The only forseeable (spelling) problem with having Houston and Wallace is that one is going to start getting the spotlight. For example, if Houston takes a handoff agains Hickman on his own 20 and breaks it, it wont take long for his numbers to rise. Or, since we are playing lesser oponents, same could happen for Wallace. Because Houston is the back bone of our team and he is probably the most talented player we have, I'm betting his per yard average will skyrocket. I think G.C. and OC should do more to publicize him but then again, he may not want everyone to know just how good he is.
  7. I agree the weather was not the deciding factor in the page game. Page coaches did an excellent job with their defensive game plan and our offensive line couldn't give our quarterback time to do anything. The difference in the rain games was that the page field was soggy due to the massive amounts of water on it. Late in the fall of the year all of the fields will retain water even if it doesn't rain six inches in three days....... As far as another deep threat, I think that if Houston is able to stay healthy the rest of the year and into the playoffs, we will be ridding his back. I'm sure that future teams will start keying on him to slow or shut us down. The problem with the "deep threat" is that in this level of playing, most of the qb's tend to loft the ball. That may work against lesser opponents but in the playoffs, if it happens, that kind of game plan will get us beat. I'm pleased with where we are right now and what we are doing so far....
  8. Well, I guess it would go to show that as the "rainy season" comes during the playoffs (not that it happened last week), we may be in trouble once we get to and perhaps past the second round.
  9. What about Houston? I've heard some buzz on him but don't know if it has translated into any offers as of yet.... If he can somehow manage to get some carries going into the second half of the season, his stats may show just how good he is. What do you guys think?
  10. What is everyone's take so far. We haven't quite made it to the halfway point but I think Houston is a major player in the offense. I also think that if it weren't for Wallace, we would have been upset last week even if we would have been favored.
  11. OK guys, what's your insight? I figured Page was going to be the last toughest test on the schedule till at least the second round of the playoffs. I just looked them up on unapproved website and they have beaten Waverly and Marshall County.
