  1. I must say these are the best posts I have seen. I would like to know how the host teams will be determined. Will West Tn teams play each other and East teams play or what. It seems to me with all this district realignments that they will keep first round teams closer for attendance and money. Does anyone have any thoughts on this??
  2. First off: I never said anything about a coach, that was old man and he started talking about Britton. I said the O'line did not play well and held all night last night. The defense played pretty well, expecially the middle. I don't know the coaches names and could care less! I also don't care if you recruit! That is between T'town and your neighbors. The O'line is undisaplined wether you or Old Man likes it or not. I am no hater, just calling it like I see it. Ask Debow how he thinks the line it playing. It appears I am not the only one that sees it like it is!! Coach Olive said this morning that we did have trouble with Shelbyville's defensive line. The Golden Eagles have a couple of defensive tackles that weigh 285 and 295 and they were tough. Thanks for that info! At least the coach saw the same game I did. Coach Olive should stop hating!! Or is it just an observation. There is a difference. If those two tackles for Shelbyville gave that line that much trouble then I am afraid they have trouble ahead. Siegel is not huge but Lawrence County is massive. They have three on the D'line that start at 275, 295 and one around 325. This will be a huge test for this young line. One other thing, they will have to travel and not have that home cooking. I thought they got away with a couple offensive pass interference call the other night. Again I am not hating just saying what I saw.

  4. Does anyone know what happened to the QB for Hardin County? Any news on how he is doing and will he ba able to play from here on out? Hopefully someone will post some good news!
  5. Just go back and look at how many holding penalties T'town had just last night! Sounds like the good coach has some work to do! I never said anything about tricks. Coach can still be respected and have a bad O'line!! Go Siegel Old Dad........Even the quarterbacks dad was talking about the poor pass blocking his son had. Go and read it for yourself! Said something like "Derek was on the run all night long due to the poor pass blocking"! That may be the reason the line has started holding?

  7. Not sure why you are so excited about Bowles being back? Tullahoma lost their first three games with him as the starter. The cats will probably loose the next two. Lawrence County is no Shelbyville!! I want Derek to start, but hey I'm his dad so I'm biased. Truth is, we are a better team when they are both on the field. I really hope Davis can come back soon. I spoke with him after the game and the problem is in his neck. I hope it's not serious, for his sake and the teams'. Binns, I like your idea of having them both in the game at QB at the same time. Do you think Melton can come up with a few more wrinkles? fballfan101: I'm sorry to inform you that you were misinformed about Derek. He started the first TWO games at QB. You act as though it was his fault we lost them both. Well, let me educate you about those first two games. Game 1: No QB for Tullahoma would have beaten Blackman. Any stats for that game he got on his own. Game 2 vs. Cookeville: Derek was 13-23, 228yds, 1TD. Here is the breakdown of that game. There were 6 dropped passes that could have gone for 100+yds and a TD. Factor those numbers in and you get 19-23, 328+yds, 2TD. Here is something else to take into consideration, he had 3 sustained drives that were killed by penalties. Is that his fault? And, he was on the run the whole game for lack of pass blocking. There are those who think he could have "stayed in the pocket more." My question is: What pocket? Come back when you've got good info and don't be a hater. Oops...........sorry I got that wrong about the first three games and who was the starter! The fact is that Tullahoma lost their first three games! Is that better Debow? Derek had better have some good passing games because from what I see that is all they have. The O'line is slow and worst of all they are very undisaplined. They hold on every snap! Did Tullahoma start the season playing tough competition.....YES. They will also end the season playing though competiton! The last two games they play will have the same result as the first two games. Put two QB's out there.......sounds a little stupid! Guess thats the reason fathers shouldn't coach their kids!
  8. Who will win this one? 7-1 Hardin against 6-2 Lawrence County
  9. There will be an interesting decision by THS coaches on which QB to start next week, assuming Jared Davis can practice next week. Derrick Bowles was the starting QB in the first two games for Tullahoma and was replaced by Soph Jared Davis in the 3rd game. Maybe the Cats came come up with some plays where they have both players in the backfield at the same time, who can each throw the football with accuracy. Derrick Bowles is a outstanding player for Tullahoma, who plays well, no matter where they put him. A good example of a TEAM player. Not sure why you are so excited about Bowles being back? Tullahoma lost their first three games with him as the starter. The cats will probably loose the next two. Lawrence County is no Shelbyville!!
  10. He got rocked while trying to make a tackle after he tossed an interception! He was helped off the field but he was walking so that much is good!
  11. How bad is it going to be to start out with 7 wins and end up 7 and 4! What an embarrasment!!
  12. I keep hearing Melrose and Mitchell and teams they may play in the playoffs beating them. I really think the next three games my expose some of their weak points. It doesn't appear Brighton is very big but they appear to have lots of speed and a very solid line and linebackers. The Lawrence County team is very big and plays the same style physical football and also has speed at the skill positions. If Hardin County makes it through the next two weeks undefeated then the Melrose and Mitchell teams they may play should worry. It may be Brighton hits Hardin County with the pass putting up a big score and then Lawrence comes in and runs the ball down their throats! Time will only tell.
  13. Red Warrior........Its seems you are still mad about Hardin County beating Adamsville! As I said before, a below average Hardin County team will probably beat a very good Adamsville team. That is called classifications and that is why they have them. That game between those two teams should be thought of as only money games. They draw huge crowds and bring in lots of money! Hardin County has more to loose than Adamsville because everyone expects them to win and if Adamsville does catch them down it is a huge defeat! Please let this loss go!! 5A teams will almost always beat 2A teams. I am not familiar with the records of this rivalry but how many times has Adamsville beat Hardin County?
  14. I try to keep up with all the 5A squads as I do follow Hardin County. Defense, ball control, physical play, BIG HITS and more defense. That is what got HC to 7-0. Team has good senior leadership and a group of underclassmen that are football players. Offense is pro set, smash mouth behind a big physical, well coached offensive line with a couple of those weighing 300lb. HC has not thrown the ball much with good reason but it is there and will be when necessary. There is talent at the receiver position as there has been in years past. On paper, looks like we got a tough run the next 3 weeks. I dont expect the defense to give up more than 14 in any of those games and none of the 3 will hold HC to less than that. But those games still have to be played, our kids still have to execute, and maybe the ball will bounce our way. This group of kids got the tools to beat any 5A team in the state. Biggest challenge might be Mitchell or Melrose as their team speed could be an issue. But how you handle speed; contain and punish on D, ball control on O. For you Henry County supporters the last 3 years are well the last 3 years not the present year. Thanks again for another reply! I did however notice you saying Mitchell and Melrose will be their biggest challenge. Their next three games are Brighton, Lawrence County and Jackson NS. Where did the other two come into this? I was also wondering if that perfect record would hold up considering their next three games? Brighton will throw the ball, Lawrence County will run the ball and I have nor idea what Jackson NS will do. How do you think Hardin County will hold up to those teams? Any predictions on the next three games and which team will be the biggest test against that defense and perfect record? Just from doing a little research it appears they could loose the next two games.
  15. Thanks ftbllfn for the post and reply. You seem to follow Hardin County and know about this team pretty well. I am kind of on the outside looking in and the record they have deserves respect. I have read very little on this team except hearing they play and hit hard and have a great defense that runs to the ball. As I stated earlier the news never gets that far south so I have to get any info off CoachT. What does this team have on offense and what defense do they run? They must have some atheletes but of course I don't hear specifics so maybe your could post on here what is really making this team click?
  16. For starters, Adamsville is a 2A school and they shouldn't be able to play with a 5A school! I don't believe saying Hardin will win and saying look out for next week is getting much ahead. I plan on watching either this game or the Shelbyville/Tullahoma game this week. I feel for sure that with these two games being so far south they will be overlooked since these teams are not in the Nashville area. The next two weeks will be tough for Hardin County and if they take care of business and win both they will be for real! Time will only tell. I know that Hardin County's strength is its defense, what is Brightons strongpoint?
  17. I believe Hardin County wins this one but had better watch out the following week!
  18. Easy big man..............One game at a time!! Hardin County is undefeated and will be a great measuring stick for the Lawrence County offense. Hardin County says being physical and defense is their strengths and Lawrence County should be up to the task with their O'line and backs. This could be the best game in high school football that week so lets not look ahead just yet!
  19. Once they beat Tullahoma, they are in. Beating Tullahoma would for sure put them in the playoffs but with the record they have they would still have a very good chance with a wildcard birth. This is where all the confusion is going to start. If LCHS beats Tullahoma, they will not only be in but would probably get to host the first round game along with Columbia. This will be very interesting to see how all this plays out.
  20. This "Bracketology" is of course pure speculation! I would say noone knows where or who will be in or out! One thing is for certain though, Lawrence County is gaining huge yardage running the ball. I got to catch the Centennial game and this LCHS team is for real! The backs are fast and the O line is very good! I am old and even I think I could run through those holes! If you get a chance to watch this team in action I would recommend a trip to see "old school" football at its finest!! LCHS @ Hardin County should be a real heavyweight matchup!!
  21. I have been reading the board and realize there is a lot of fans disgusted with football in Lincoln County. I also remember when this school had the "BEST" team that I have seen at a high school level. Not just one year either. What has really happened to the program. I am not looking for someone to beat the program down any further, I am looking for the real reason for the problems. In the 80's I can remember seeing a team that was around 100 players strong standing on the sidelines and now it has dwindled to extremely low numbers. I wish I could say how many players but I don't know that number exactly so I am not going to post anything and act as if I know. I do hate to see such a powerhouse dip to such a low level. If the kids can be persuaded back to the football field then the great teams will probably follow!
  22. I have no dog in this race but have seen both teams play and Coffee County will win this one. Coffee County is very physical and the offense they run will most certainly cause problems for Lincoln County. CC 24-14
  23. I just heard the coach got the Titans Coach of The Week. This program appears to be on the right track! Keep an eye on this team, there is something special going on down there!!
  24. Who takes this game? Will LCHS's running game be able to dominate?
  25. What is going on with this team? Five wins in a row with huge stats. What has turned this program around after loosing the first two games. Their running game is unbelievable!
