Sure seemed to be a problem when he was the coach at Choke Ridge.
I am sure he is getting his fill of Mountain Lights or maybe Cherokee Red Ales at the Calhoun's there on the lake. Cherokee Red Ale Cummings has a good ring to it.
Cherokee Red Ale’s are top notch. I don’t blame him if he likes to throw them bad boys back. Come to think of it, I might join him sometime.

Still trying to get his career catch count up after those years of Joker Joe changing to the option at Oak Ridge.
Did you see what we were working with @ QB back in those days? I probably would’ve gone to the option too. The cupboard was bare to the bone, except that one year Johnny Stewart started at QB. Actually, I probably would’ve put Tee at QB so the ball would’ve been in his hands at ALL times.
-
I wonder if he still has Spencer Gulmire’s cleat marks on his chest from the OR/Farragut game in 2005? All joking aside, I wish him the best, except against the Wildcats of OR.

God bless ya, brother. My most sincere condolences. May God grant you peace at an extremely difficult time in your life.

Apparently Tee has asked for a trade.
Yeah, I’m sure he’s wanting to be the #1 option somewhere. That’s just not gonna happen in Cincy.

that’s nowhere near number one in fact, hands-down number one needs to be cutting off the Alcoa pipeline to the Austin youth sports program that they have built over the years.
Alcoa recruits Farragut kids? Man, they’re all over the place.

Congratulations to Coach Stevens, an ole Oak Ridge fella. Not sure how he will do, but I wish him the best.

Ole Holier Than Thou leaving because he can't compete in today's climate. Looks like Shifty Steve Matthews left Ancient Eddie shivering in his visor. Too bad Concord is but stepping stone for Sober-ish Steve to get back into the game after Catholic wasn't allowed to hire him.
I am sure they will keep this one in the family at Fairygut. Don't know anything about his son but he better figure out how to recruit...and FAST. I am sure the Beerden staff has already contacted Fairygut players.
It’s not like Eddie is a spring chicken, you know. It was about time to hang it up, regardless. I don’t blame him. We only have one life.

Shane Cherry and Javon Carter are special. Both score over 40 last night. The 3 headed monster from Fulton is really good. A very underated player is Caden Windle. Next year Jonathon Woodley and Braden Hazelbaker will challeng for best players.
As an OR fan, Carter was the best I watched against us this year. Lights out. He has some unbelievable handles.

What you think SS…Blount county football and basketball teams are definitely above average. Even track and volleyball have recently excelled. What’s the baseball problem across the county?
Maryville was good in baseball last year, in my opinion. Y’all are just in an extremely tough district with some of the best teams in the state with Farragut, Bearden, and HVA year in year out. That’s a tough out. They came to OR and spanked our a$$$$, and OR was above average last year. Y’all are fine in baseball, imo.

I’ll take Maryville over Mo - Town West, and Bearden over Mo - Town East. Both Murvil & Bearden advance to the glass house.

In my own research, I agree with your recommendations and I would add Bearden and West in Knoxville and DB and Greeneville if work ends up taking me further east. We will want public schools, and best I can see all of these are well-rounded athletic and academic programs.
Yeah, those 2 seem to be head and shoulders above the rest in the upper northeast part of the state. Science Hill may be in there, but not sure. SH typically is very good in baseball, basketball, and soccer. For whatever reason they’ve just never excelled at football, which is odd to me with how huge that school is. Always have really good athletes, though, it seems.

the boys made a region tournament in soccer last year. here's hoping they do it again.
But trutyfull, as i've said before, I don't follow them that much.
I'm still trying to decide which zone I'll live in when I get married. I won't lie; I'll be choosing a house based on the HS's academics and sports.
I'd consider maryville, but I don't think my family will ever be a basketball family per se.
Just giving you a hard time. Well, if you’re going to choose based on that, Maryville would definitely be in the running, along with Alcoa, Farragut and OR. Can’t go wrong with any of those when you combine athletics and academics together. Best wishes as far as the marriage and all that goes, btw. Wish ya the best.

Is Maryville a basketball school now?
Maryville has always had a well rounded athletic program since I’ve been keeping up. How’s Watertown’s underwater basket weaving program coming along, ILB?

Cincinnati Bengals hung the franchise tag on Oak Ridger, Tee Higgins yesterday for $29 million for next season. I just wanted to recognize that this could not happen to a finer young man. When Tee was in middle school, anybody that saw him play football and especially basketball knew that OR community had something special coming up. We are used to great athletes around here, but Tee was different. As a freshmen he returned a kickoff for a TD at Halls, we got a glimpse. Later that year he started as a freshmen in basketball. When he Air Jordan dunked from the free throw line, left handed, over the Clinton starting five, our students shouted, "He's a freshmen, He's a freshmen!". That dunk made ESPN SportsCenter, we knew then, this kid is special. Tee, by all accounts, was a great teammate, and without question was the hardest worker on the team, both sports. He still comes to the Ridge regularly, and he is just the same friendly, humble and polite guy that he has always been. Tee is proud of his community and where he comes from, and he gives back in ways that nobody will ever know about. Great story. If people knew what Tee has overcome to get where he is, let's just say it could be an ESPN 30 for 30 special. So, congratulations to Tee and Lady and family.
And selfishly, I can finally say that I am finally friends with a millionaire as I slave away in the mines! Go Cats!
Imagine how crazy Willie would be going if he was still with us.

I still think an above .500 season is happening, which most programs would be ecstatic about. Even a home playoff game. Just lean in terms of playoffs
I don’t think so, but to each their own.

I think there are some lean years ahead unless some kids come in or the middle school is great
We are gonna be better than you think, but keep on underestimating the Cats, Sheriff. There was plenty of talent I saw in the middle schools to when you combine them, it’ll be a formidable team. OR has had “lean years” in about 6 of 80 seasons.
-
Congratulations to the Rebs, and good luck against Beer-den. My Wildcats lost a heartbreaker, as y’all know. Man, one of the toughest losses I’ve experienced as a fan, both football and basketball. But credit to Bearden for making that shot, just really hate that it wasn’t even contested really. Just a really odd sequence there. Oh well, on to baseball season.

21 played Summitt in the championship, in my opinion we should have won that game, but honestly we laid an egg that night. How can you have Tee Higgins for 4 years and not win a thing? There has just been a ton of talent come through over the years with nothing to show for.
Yeah. Well, from 93-2004ish you had the Riverdale glory days, then the Maryville dynasty from 2009-2019ish in 6A, so we had to go through them earlier in the decade of the 2010s. Actually gave them a few really good games, too, during that time period. Then we had Catholic (should’ve been private) to go through during the latter part of the 2010s. We have had quite a bit of talent, but more times than not we’ve just been beaten by better teams.
The Higgins years were marred by awful quarterback play. I shudder at the thought of what he could’ve accomplished with a QB throwing to him like Stansberry @ OR now. I’ve been watching some of his highlights from a recent throwing camp he went to, guy can sling it man. He’s gonna be great by his SR season, barring injury.
-
Also have to remember in 2017-2018 we would’ve had great chances if not for Catholic, who should’ve been private at the time. Even with that said, blowing that 35-14 after the half against Catholic was uncalled for.

Don’t pay a lick of attention to 888. He skips around on every thread, trolling people. And has no affiliation to any team, that I’m aware of. Just let it roll off your back. Responding just feeds into the nonsense. Totally agree with your sentiment concerning Coach EC though.
