I have been keeping up with their scores and have been surprised myself. I figured yall would be really good this season. Just really odd. Maybe some internal things are going on? Who knows?

I think the Maryville basketball team will eventually turn things around. Just too much talent out there not to. For what it’s worth, it’s better to be struggling now than when the playoffs start up. I’ll be really surprised if they don’t get things going by then. Basketball is a sport of momentum. All it takes is a few good wins, and you can get on a roll. You just never can tell when you’re dealing with High School kids. As an OR fan, I’d rather see them be good any day than Bearden, but that’s just me. Wish them the best.

Page looked pretty good. First time I’m aware of them having a pretty good team. The big boy Hernandez (I think is his name) is a problem.

If he is who we think he is, he should be the last one cracking on someone’s height. Nothing spells coward like someone who hides behind a computer screen and talks smack about everyone and everything.

I take that back about Tee. 2 of those years he played he had awful QBs, but I think his SR year Jonny Stewart was the QB, and he was pretty dang good. Actually, that OR team was really good, we just had to play Catholic (who should’ve been a private all along) back then, or that team would’ve probably battled for a state title.

You were never good until you started stealing CC kids. Go look at the 80s/early 90s AC teams. I can remember a few 66-0 games when we would play them back in the day. They were gawd awful. Then Kerr came, and that’s when the thievery started. I’m not even talking about OR, you’re the one that keeps bringing the Ridge up. And that team with Tee had no quarterback, it wouldn’t have mattered if Jerry Rice was on that team. The QB was awful that year. That was not a very good team as a whole. Plus, one guy can only do so much bud. We have had about 10 NFL players come out of OR. That’s pretty impressive, I think— especially with the size of OR - now that you mention it. How many does AC have? How many All Staters have y’all had that weren’t from Campbell County, better yet? Either way, we’re both grown men (at least, I think so) on here going back and forth about 15-16 year old kids, so the joke is on us both. Let’s both get a life, and do something productive. Deal?

Funny how you just completely gloss over playing with other schools players for YEARS and YEARS now. Anderson County would’ve never and wouldn’t be anything now if not for Campbell County kids. And you know it, that’s why you completely ignore it when it’s mentioned.

Ouch. BTW, Davey has to do it with other schools’ talent, too, and has for years on end. AC wouldn’t have ever been much without Campbell County’s players the past 25+ years. Just ask Davey Boy himself, who came from Campbell Co.

Well, that and he probably knows he could never really win big there. It’s not a very good head coaching position.

Cobb for Upperman, or Fulton? I assume you’re talking about an Upperman player, but just making sure. Sorry, I’m really not too familiar with 3A ball, being an Oak Ridge fan, outside of Fulton and a few other Knoxville area teams.

What’s up with Fulton? I know they lost a lot off of that championship team from last season, but it’s still odd not to see them being talked about in one of these 3A favorites threads. I’m sure they won’t be down for too long.

Personally, I miss the old grass fields at the HS level. When a few top football schools around East TN (namely, Maryville and the like) went to the artificial turf fields, everyone else followed suit. It always came over to me as a follow the leader type thing. After Oak Ridge played East Hamilton (who has a grass field), I heard a few of our players after the game exclaim how they liked their natural grass field a lot better than the artificial surface we now have at OR.

Yeah, that was his name! Man, that kid was a great QB. OR played them in the playoffs in 2012 - we ended up beating them, but man he was elusive back there. Couldn’t hardly sack that guy.
