You may be correct you would know more than me. Speaking of Fudge packer I was shocked when I saw none of ya'lls games made the cut.

I ain’t too worried about it. I’m glad to see some other teams finally get some exposure.

Maybe that is what I am thinking of, either way a new home and home would warrant buying a ticket unless fudge packer picks it up

That’s if we had of played a Murfreesboro team in those days, it would’ve been Central. I don’t think we did though.

Yea I was wrong on the 70s. Oakland for sure has a great program. I would think it is hard for you all to find someone willing to schedule a home and home due to your success. That is why you have to go out of state for games.

Sheriff, I believe we played Murfreesboro Central in those days. Oakland & Riverdale didn’t become schools till later on.

Riverdale and OR had some classic battles.  Some real heartbreakers along the way for OR.  Probably cost us a couple gold balls.  Locke, Dukes, Griffin, Peebles, man they had some dudes.

No doubt. Loaded would be an understatement. Fernando Bryant was another. That game in ‘95 (my JR year) was a real heartbreaker - 10-7. I remember Gipson got loose on a QB rollout and I thought he was gone, and I look up and here comes this white streak, and none other than Gerald Griffin. I thought Mike G was for sure gone. Man, GG could fly.

Oak Ridge comes back from 15 down to beat Alcoa 78-75.  Great game by both teams.

Man, Alcoa hit 13 threes in the first half. Insane. They couldn’t miss there for a while. We overcame though and stayed with it. Carter is a dang good player. One of, if not the best I’ve seen this season in this area.

Well more like everything runs in cycles and there are no guarantees. Riverdale dominated for the better part of 15 years in the 90s and 00s and hasn't been back to the title game since.

Riverdale seemed to pick up some steam last year. But sorry Dawgs fans, yall can get back to Bearden talk. Apologies for intruding.

The other one at Oakland, Oak Ridge was way behind at the half like down 28, Cats came back and won it.  Most likely the greatest comeback ever by an Oak Ridge football team.

Yeah that was the year after I graduated. Tharpe @ QB and Roc Hardin down the sideline. 1997 season.

Maybe I am wrong who knows. If yall get the bump and end up in a game vs them then you've made it to the semis so theres that

88 & 89, but MidTenn might correct me on that. I was at both games. 7-3 slobberknocker in one of them.

I'd argue that 5A is just as tough in ET as 6A is, if not more so. Don't think it'll be a big jump in competition for OR

Think so? But that trip to the Boro though if it were to happen, I’m not looking forward to.

Ohhh ok like changing the schedule? I gotcha I never heard that rumor. It would be hard to find an opponent to fill in the one game too due to most schools using the home and home two year agreement

I think that’s what he’s talking about, but who knows. It’s Bearden, so wouldn’t shock me in the least if they tried to get some of our guys. Yeah I haven’t heard of us not wanting to play them. That’s a first. Not sure why we wouldn’t, both games were really close and competitive.

I think yall have a good program and used to be great. Just think Dozier is better than UVA wise and shouldve gotten the ball more clinton part 2. Still waiting to see where heyward end up

Yeah I miss the glory days, for sure. We better make a move in 5A soon because next realignment we’re probably heading to the big boy league of 6A. Ain’t no joke up there.

Nah nah nah I don't have a clue where he got that from just an east tn football fan. I have respect for a lot of programs and enjoy watching games on thursdays and fridays when I get the chance.

    Haha mmhmm.

Sorry SS not history teacher here. Yep, Joe is a class guy. HOF coach, hard working AD and great ambassador for OR and more. Even with that we've got a delusional outsider with no affiliation giving him cheap shots. Go figure.

And newly elected member of the TSSAA HOF. Either way, I doubt he will lose much sleep over an anonymous poster on CoachT.

It's ok Benanti I wont out you all the way just want you to know that I know.

I don’t think that’s Coach G. I know who Benanti is. Only reason I know is I was a history student of his and that was his original last name he told us. Great history teacher, btw. Gaddis has always been great to me, so I don’t have a bad word to say about the guy. Won’t find a man who loves OR more than that fella. We all have our flaws.

Triple F, training gym in Solway ran by Lee Smith. The rumor was he was going to go to Bearden. It is a known fact that FFF pushes kids to go there. Smith helps coaching the OL because his son plays there. Gaddis caught wind that this was going to happen and threatened to hire a PI to see if they really did move from OR to Bearden. We all know Jones at bearden would have found him an address. To me that would make me want to take my kid elsewhere even more.

Lee Smith, former Powell and Marshall player that played in the NFL? Yeah, I know you say everyone recruits, and that’s basically true, but Bearden has taken it to another level, along with Clinton this past season.

  16. 3 minutes ago, SheriffofRedRock said:

IMO it was long overdue. Gaddis brought him on because he was suppose to be a recruiter and he did bring in Rogers and Hundley but you saw how that worked out for Gaddis. 3-8. He didn't help himself by changing OCs either that last year. But Vonce did not bring anyone else and was not helping in any other regard. I am sure he will be loud in the community if he chooses to stay around. He knows where bodies are buried too.

One thing about Rang is he doesn’t put up with shenanigans it doesn’t seem. I do like that about him.

  17. 4 minutes ago, SheriffofRedRock said:

I would say that Henderson was better than both talent wise imo, maybe not maturity but to each their own. The issue was the DC in the box was calling a defense and Vonce was changing the coverage to perhaps help his son. It did not work obviously.

I would say that would maybe go on for one series at most until it is figured out. If it continues then Vonce is no longer on the sideline at all, fired on the spot and Gaddis would actually have to work for once. Rang should've put a stop to it immediately as the HC and did not. Maybe he was too worried about that and thats why he didn't give the ball to dozier enough.

Ahh, so overriding his authority. That’ll do it every time. I agree that Henderson is more talented, but not as much to override the experience of the other 2. He kept getting burned and they never took him out. It’s all water under the bridge now anyway.
