I think he has made it to the big game for three years, he just ran into better teams from knox co

I thought they should’ve won. They were at what, the 2 yard line on first down going in for the wining score, and flubbed it. But, on the other hand you have to give West props for stopping them too. But man, they seriously flubbed it there at the end. It was definitely terrible clock management. Them and West were about as even as two teams can get. Neither team was what I would call clear cut better than the other. West just made a few great plays on D @ the end, with a bit of help from the Page coaching staff’s terrible clock management.

yeah that's what I meant "breakaway speed".  Haw!  I still dearly miss Bladerunner/RunswithKnife.  Remember that day you and him got into it and yall were posting pictures of Howdy Doodie and that guy in the sweatpants in the basement.  Oh, that still cracks me up.  I wish we could go back and find that thread. It's an all time classic!

How are pops and the boy doing, BTW? Youngin should be about to graduate, right? Hard to believe. Tell pops I said hello for me.

Haha. Yeah, will never forget it. BR/RWK was a trip. He was a pain in the #### but made the board interesting. I remember when he challenged Greyrider (Maryville poster) to a 40 yard dash in the parking lot of Full Service BBQ in Maryville. Hilarious.

Freshpoop son probably graduated so he gone.  Bonkers quit posting when he resigned from coaching OR, catswild is still out looking for some linemen and some team speed.

    Haha. “Mr. Breakaway speed” himself.

So where does Heyward end up? At the end of the day it is about helping the kids. If the AD and HC fail to do this then they should feel ashamed.

What do you want them to do exactly? Make Brandon bigger, stronger, and faster overnight? I am pretty sure he topped out a few year(s) ago, as in he peaked physically a while back. I’m sure they’ll happily take any tips you can provide them, though. You seem to know everything else, so let’s hear it?

Haven't seen him as much so only time will tell. He will be the only option now so I'm sure he will get his lions share of the targets.

We will have other options step up. Always do.

  7. I do think Will Pressley has legit P5 talent, for what it’s worth. Just a feeling I have. That kid can fly and will be 6’3-6’4 before he leaves. Doesn’t mean he will end up being one, but he has natural physical abilities that you can’t coach, as in blazing speed and height, just the WR body type. Long and lean.

I guess OR just doesn't care where their kids go. They just are supposed to do it on their own.

You’re definitely entitled to your opinion, although I don’t agree with it whatsoever.

Non P5? He can't play at MTSU in state school that takes 3 stars all the time. Looking at his 247 profile he has Miss st, Vandy, KY, Ark, EKU, Marshall he can't get in any of those? HC and AD aint worried about it.

You just have it out for Rang & Gaddis. Trust me, it’s obvious. Couldn’t be more obvious honestly.

Northview Acadmey sent a DE to MTSU, D1 non power 5. Powell sends their DE to KY, SEC. OR sends their big DE to austin peay as a pwo(preferred walk on)

Clinton sent a WR/DB to Purdue D1 P5. OR can't get heyward to that level when he had it earlier.

GP got a kid to wake forest and another to Illinois and they are 3A.

I mean these are just facts. OR's HC and AD for sure are not pushing these kids.

Soles was way more talented than any kid we had. Marable, more talented kid than any kid OR had. Not sure about the others. You’re seeing something I’m not, as far as talent goes.

  11. 14 minutes ago, SheriffofRedRock said:

So he should at least be signing somewhere decent right?

Like where, exactly? The kid is not P5 talent. Like I said, I love the kid and have loved watching him, but he just doesn’t have the talent. I could see him going to a Tennessee Tech type school, which would be great for him actually. Really good academic school. He just never got better physically from his Sophomore to SR season. Same thing happened to Kendall Jackson. Some things you just don’t have control over.

He's too focused on honing his "cheap shot" skills(?).

Anything to discredit the OR staff, I guess? They clearly weren’t working with as much talent as he thought they were. All 3 were really good HS football players, but there’s a huge difference in a really good HS player, and top tier talent at the collegiate level. 2 OR greats come to mind in that regard - Shawn Summers & Spencer Gulmire. Both were great HS players, but didn’t have the talent to actually start at the top levels of college ball. Although Shawn returned quite a bit of punts @ UT. I love Heyward, but he has the same problem as Dozier, lack of speed. If you weigh 180 lbs, you better run at least a 4.4 40, he’s not even close. He was way overrated early on,  obviously. I love the kid, but just the facts. He never progressed physically past his sophomore year. Great little HS football player, but just lacks top tier talent.

Anyone else wonder how three all state players at OR are either uncommited(13) or going to a D2 school(3 & 22)? I wonder if the new HC is so worried about figuring out why throwing the ball put him out in the playoffs. My guess is he is not trying to help advertise his kids. Those three were way more talented than where they currently are going.

Didn’t surprise me a bit. I think you overrated their talent, if you wanna be completely honest. Dozier is a great HS back, but doesn’t have top end speed. If you’re gonna play major college ball at his size, you better have elite speed. He doesn’t by a long shot. Rembert? No surprise at all, he’s tiny. I never expected any of those guys to be major college prospects, Nalls included. Maybe your talent evaluation needs revamping?

I think Oak Ridge will cruise to another district title. But when the region rolls around, gotta get their big boy shorts on to advance.

In all fairness, all the rest of the region does too. Any of the top teams can beat the other on any given night. OR has as good a shot as any of the rest.

I don't like when OR plays on Thurs. Fri nights are way mo betta.  I know coaches don't like it because they lose a day of prep. AD's are not crazy about it because TV kills the gate.  But I am glad there is a game to watch on TV each week.  So, thanks Packer, I know you read this.

I definitely applaud him for doing it. I really don’t understand the hate a lot of people have for him. I mean, yeah, he’s goofy as all get out, but so am I at times. Some folks really dislike him. Just odd to me.

Also, congrats to both the boys and the girls for clenching their respective District Championships and a trip to the region tournament.

I can’t get over how much the girls have improved. They’re really hitting on all cylinders. The boys are slowly but surely adjusting to playing without Brennan, which has been nice to see. The emergence of the Sophomore CT (I don’t wanna misspell his last name, so using his initials instead) has been nice to watch. That guy is going to be really good.
