  1. How is not Jaques Smith not on this team? Isn't he suppose to be one of the top players in the state?
  2. Hey Guys, how would Brentwood Bruins stack up against Brentwood Academy? Just asking. I saw White Station play one game this year and was impressed with a few players. The QB is under-rated and could play at a D1 school. The little running back they have is very fast. And the middle linebacker will come up and make a hit. White Station is not a bad team at all eventhough they lost to the two top private schools in Memphis this year they are solid.
  3. Wow, I have read some ignorant posts on this site but this by far is the winner. Congrats for being a dumbass son.
  4. I went to the MUS -vs- Father Ryan Game tonight to see Brunetti's last home game. Worst game I have ever seen MUS play. The punt returner dropped 2 for turnover's, he ran one in for a saftey. The ref's flagged MUS for 4 pass interference calls which only one was legit. MUS dropped 4 potential interceptions. Father Ryan played flawless football but MUS should have beaten that team by at least 3 or 4 touchdowns. Nothing against Father Ryan, as they played a good game it is just they are not even close to the team MUS is. Good Game Father Ryan, MUS almost gave you the game tonight. Father Ryan has one of the best HS Kicker's I have ever seen though. He can boot it. If MUS plays the way they played tonight in the State Championship game they will lose plain and simple. That was not MUS tonight.
  5. There are a ton of D1 College schools littered with HS Kids from Tennessee. 2 starters for Notre Dame, Running back for Miami, several at Ole Miss, Alabama, Aubur, and yes there several kids who start for TENNESSEE. You are an idiot who has no clue what he is talking about. There have been several kids who have already signed with D1 schools just out of Memphis. Come back with some facts besides your opinion.
  6. I agree and I apologize to you for the whole misunderstanding. Let's move on, it is just kids playing football the game we both love as you can see. With that said, who you got this Friday night? BA vs MBA FRS vs MUS I think MBA in a close one and MUS should win by a 2 touchdown margin.
  7. Here it is, read the whole thread Rollredroll - What is wrong with you dude? They cannot develop talent or they cannot discipline their teams. If the public schools could get the talented kids to even play football, and develop them into players then Memphis would dominate year in and year just because of the shear size of the city. There are a lot of kids who are much more talented than the MUS players, they just don't have the coaching. Memphis only has so much funding that is provided for HS sports, it is not a good situation in that town.Top
  8. Watched the Ensworth versus BGA game on their website. I guess I should have clarified I never watched EHS in person. But seriously do not care one way or the other and probably should not be posting on these boards to be honest with you. I have no interest in MUS or EHS or any other school. I am not even from Tennessee. Don't get so serious there fella, it is just HS football.
  9. MUS would have beaten Ensworth by three touchdowns. Anyone on here that thinks otheriwise really just hasn't seen both teams play. There is really no comparison to the talent that MUS has.
  10. Tonight should settle on who is Mr. Football this year. Barry Brunetti hands down.
  11. Those are 3 good players. I like Harrison Martin on the lineman side.
  12. Baylor has a little advantage as Coach Massey was the Offensive Cordinator at MUS a couple of years ago. Not sure if it will help Baylor but MUS should handle them fairley easily. But like you say, Baylor has nothing to lose so you never know what can happen in a HS football game.
  13. My mistake. I meant Memphis programs were behind the Nashville and Knoxville programs. I am so sorry. Please forgive me. I am so ashamed. That was stupid. 14. "Can't disagree with you there...while Mississippi has won a disproportionate share of its games against Tennessee schools, in many cases, we are sending primarily our Memphis-area schools against schools from all over Mississippi. I think it's fair to say that, of the main areas of Tennessee, Memphis programs are behind Knoxville-area and Nashville-area programs in terms of talent, so Mississippi isn't necessary getting a good geographical sample of Tennessee schools to play." Probabaly the dumbest most un-informed post I have ever read here. I would put Memphis talent against any school you wish to put up overall. Good grief that was stupid.
  15. "No OmahaVol, I agree with your opinion. I know MUS has a great offense. The only thing I can see keeping Alcoa in the game is their Offensive line play and their physical run game against MUS's defensive line and LB's??? Hello, I have no dog in this hunt but I have seen MUS play 3 times this year and Alcoa play once. I am a former college player and scout talent for a SEC school. I have not seen Ensworth play but did see them on film against BGA. MUS in my opinon beats Alcoa pretty easily. The offense of line of Alcoa is not in the same league as Olive Branch's(4 SEC Caliber Players) and South Panola has several on their line that will play D1 ball. MUS's talent level is next to none, there is a reason why Rivals and Max Prep's has them in as a Top 20 team in the country. The coaching at MUS rivals any college level coaching and I am talking D1. They execute like no other high school team I have ever seen and their speed just kills other teams. I am not here to hurt anyone's feelings as I could care less about these two teams I am from Ohio. But in all seriousness, there should be no debate, MUS, like the Briarcrest coach said in the Memphis paper this week, "MUS is in a class to themselves". Good luck to all in the playoffs this year, I will be watching several of the games.
  16. I have seen Alcoa Play and also MUS Play this year. I saw the Alcoa -vs-Maryville game, and 3 MUS games this year. Without a doubt and I have no dog in the hunt here, plus I did play in college for 4 years as well and scout talent for an SEC School. In my opinion, MUS would beat Alcoa by at least 3 to 4 touchdowns. The game would not even be close. MUS has so much more talent and is just better coached that it is not funny. I have not seen Ensworth play this year so I cannot make a call on that game. I would also say that South Panola would beat Alcoa as well pretty easily to be exact. Whoever thinks Alcoa would stay on the field with these teams does not know football or has not seen the teams play.
  17. Ok, this site doesn't like the competition so here are the rankings: Each Monday throughout the high school football season, RivalsHigh.com will release the RivalsHigh 100. Click here to post a question for Dallas Jackson, and he will make sure to answer your questions about our rankings. Team City State Record Pvs. 1 St. Thomas Aquinas Ft Lauderdale FL 8-0 1 With the offense a little out of sync this week the defense stepped up. Aquinas held 6A Deerfield Beach to 47 total yards and 3 first downs in the 27-0 victory. 2 Don Bosco Prep Ramsey NJ 7-0 4 The Ironmen got healthy against Passaic County Tech, 51-7. Showdowns with St. Peter's Prep and Montvale St. Joe's will have Bosco earning the No. 2 spot. 3 Cedar Hill Cedar Hill TX 9-0 3 Cedar Hill dominated Grand Prairie 55-7, finally looking like a team that could make a run through the playoffs. 4 St. Ignatius Cleveland OH 10-0 10 Stock Rising If St. Ignatius can win Ohio again this year they may have a No. 2 finish in them. The Wildcats shut out rival St. Edward 28-0. 5 Byrnes Duncan SC 9-1 5 The Rebels crushed a good Mauldin team 72-27. They have one more game before their title defense begins. 6 Skyline Dallas TX 9-0 6 Skyline and Cedar Hill may have settled in to No. 1 and No. 2 in Texas until we see the road to the title. The Raider beat White 62-3. 7 Edison Huntington Beach CA 8-0 15 Stock Rising The Chargers add a solid win over Los Alamitos, 27-10, to their resume for No. 1 in California. 8 DeMatha Hyattsville MD 9-0 7 DeMatha may have peaked this season at No. 7 last week. Without the playoffs they won't have enough to build a resume for a Top 5 finish. They beat Archbishop Carroll 44-0. 9 Oscar Smith Chesapeake VA 9-0 9 Oscar Smith took care of business with Western Branch 42-6. The Tigers are coming together at the right time. 10 Centennial Peoria AZ 9-0 14 Nick Rowland and a strong offensive line power the Coyotes back into the Top 10. A 40-0 shutout of Westview helped as well. 11 Grayson Loganville GA 9-0 2 Stock Falling Georgia is so good this year that Grayson can move up, but the weakness of the division is hurting their strength of schedule. Gateway ends the regular season win a 35-14 win and has playoff redemption staring them in the face. 21 Madison Central Madison MS 10-0 8 Stock Falling A surprising fall for Madison, but they may not be the best team in Mississippi with South Panola coming on strong. 19. Alcoa could not come within 4 touchdowns of MUS, I have seen both teams play as a scout and it would not even be a close game. MUS is one of the most dominant HS Football teams I have seen in this state in a long time.
  20. Thank you I will and hopefully anyone who agrees with this will also. I don't have a dog in this hunt but I sure would like to watch a potential MUS-vs-Ensworth match up without having to drive all the way to Cookeville to do it. This makes no sense whatsoever!
  21. With the majority of teams in Memphis and Nashville should this game not be in maybe Jackson TN, instead of making everyone drive to Cookeville on a Thursday? Who are the morons that make up this stuff? Not a very smart person that is for sure.
  22. I have watched MUS play 3 games this year. South Panola, White Station, and Christian Brothers. Not a team in the State that could hang with them if they played 10 times MUS would beat them 9 out of 10 times. But this is High School Football and there is always that one game and this is why they play it. MUS just has too much talent and the Coaching is like a bigtime college squad. I seriously think, after watch Memphis State play the other night that MUS would beat them. Good luck to all, would love to see an Ensworth -vs- MUS match up in the finals. Would be a great game and atmosphere for all.
  23. They should, but they also could have an emotional let down from a big CBHS win. Briarcrest will be up for this game, however I don't think Briarcrest has the defense to stop the MUS high powered offense. Best I've seen in HS Football. Briarcrest could make it interesting early but MUS gets it going and takes care of business.
  24. Must now allow unapproved website rankings to be posted here but it you go to unapproved website .com and pull up the Freeman rankings it has the top 100 teams in the country. MUS moved up to #14 this week and #17 on Rivals.
