  1. So how many showed up today? The ones that decided to skip this week should not get to play friday night.
  2. Of all my years of covering pioneer sports as a teacher, this years parents (all sports) seem to be the worst at wearing the rose colored glasses when it comes to their kids. Parents today think they can evaluate their kids talent better than the coaches and everyone knows what offense and defense is best for their team. Parents today think their kid should be the star regardless of class or expierence and the team needs to revolve around their kid so when they tell their kid how great he or she is and what position they should be playing it only makes the kids question what the coach tells them. Nobody wants to be a team player anymore but they will complain if they don't get the ball thrown to them every play. i guess when you live in ME society it effects everything.
  3. Warren Co wins 37 - 13 and stand 1-0 in the district.
  4. First game of the real season. Both teams enter with no wins so who takes this game.
  5. The Pioneers have been hit with the injury bug early this year. They have 3 OL-DL, 2 LB starters out and they will still start a young team. Only 3-4 starters on both sides of the ball will seniors.
  6. You and your post have proven the title of this post to correct.
  7. You could tell they were over looking the pioneers and i agree, It starts at the top. They may have thought they were the better team but regardless, the PIONEERS are playing Wednesday night and the owls play NEXT YEAR!!!!
  8. It's sad when a team cannot accept defeat and mouths off to the players and the catcher drops the F bomb to the coach during the hand shake after the game. The players even turned to the pioneer fans and gave the double "your # 1" sign on their way back to the dugout. Their fans on the other hand were very nice and although quite for most of game, showed class after the game.

Cookeville has won the season. I predict the order of finish as; 2- Warren County 3-Coffee Co 4-Cumberland co 5 White Co.
  11. I could not believe that a coach would bring a pitcher back in the next day after he threw over 120 pitches the night before. The look on Bilbrey's face when the coach motioned out for him to come was priceless. The coach has a great pitcher but moves like this could ruin the kid for good. Later in the game you could see Bilbrey holding his arm and acting like it was killing him. Let's hope and pray he is not hurt. The parents need to have a meeting with coach and protect thier son if the coach is not going to.
  12. They are 9-7 and are doing fairly well. They have a young inexpierenced coach and definately could have used Roberts expierence. The coach was out coached tonight agianst cookeville.
  13. I guess when the truth starts coming out people get quit. Sometimes a coach has to go balistic on players that are lazy and babyed by thier parents. Coach has to set them straight.
  14. oh and i guess the coach made those 40 turnovers a game! He would heva been better off playing thr JV squad.
  15. i guess he can sit and watch a team that has been all about the ME and not team. A senior that played out of control since middle school but thinks he is D-1 talent. This bunch of seniors have been told for 6 years how great they were by thier parents and former MS coach and it went to thier heads.
  16. It was the only game cancelled in the state last night. Warren County had ordered a pre-game meal for both teams and cheerleaders and it was our pink out night to raise money for cancer. Van Buren county had no plans of playing this game and should have the guts to call last week to cancel it. It shows poor sportsmanship on their school, players, and fans.
  17. Your probably right I was just trying to find something good out of this senior class. Looking back tho, this senior class was probably the weakest in the last several years in both strength and leadership but I dont see a lot of leadership out of anybody on the team. Mullican has not shown the ability to step up and take control of the huddle or the team. Juniors and sophomores are still waiting for someone to step up to.
  18. He hurt his shoulder I think. He was about the only senior besides Sangi that showed any senior leadership. The senior class was weak as a whole.
  19. I guess those years of 5-5 and going to the playoffs look pretty good now. They at least were in the games back then.
  20. You don't have to go if it upsets you so badly. Keep you butt at home and just read about it in the paper or if you dare, listen to it on the radio like I did. I knew it was going to be bad like it has been for every game this year.
  21. noticed any improvement as this season has progressed? NOPE! can't say that I have seen any improvement.
  22. I don't think we have anybody that has shot of going anywhere except maybe Motlow. But wait, they don't have a football team but wait, neither do we if you really look at results. It's really sad that we can't compete within our weak district.
  23. This coaching staff has proven it cannot relate and coach at the high school level. It had a talented senior class last year and went 3-7 and looks like an 0-10 this year. All you hear the coaches say is how bad the program was when they got here but I think the record shows that we were winning at least 5 games a year before they took over. I guess the high priced coaches are not what they thought they were. Its time for this experiment to end and hire some quality high school coaches.
  24. Poor coaching and a lack of a clear offense game plan or matter of fact, lack of any offense scheme. On side kick that a youth league kicker could have done a better job of doing. Defense scheme that consist of sending the house every play. That's about it.
