Congrats to several Fury Fastpitch players who have recently given verbal commitments to their college of choice!!!!

I heard Emilie Hensley from Morristown East went to a camp at University of Virginia a week or so ago and made a very nice impression. they clocked her pop to pop time at 1.66 seconds and shes only getting stronger. Good luck to her shes an awesome athlete and a great young lady.

Jackie Baird of GPS has signed to play with ETSU. This is a great addition for Mangrum and her staff who seems to be putting together quite a class for the Lady Buc program this year. Congrats to Jackie on signing with a great school and program!

If anyone could post and let us know how any of the teams on the top 10 list are doing in their district tournaments I would appreciate it.

My rankings go from the Knoxville area east. I don't get the pleasure to see teams from the Chattanooga area much and I really don't hear about them too much. I know Soddy is a powerhouse and other good teams come that area I just don't know them much.

I thought about Gibbs, Science Hill, Farragut, Knox Central, among others but I only had room for 10 teams in my top 10. I picked Maryville and Unicoi at the top because it always seems like they are ready to play their best ball at the end of the season. I would love to see everyone elses top 10, I'm sure many people know the teams better than me, I was just trying to get a cool topic started for us East Tennessee softballers here at post season time. Look forward to seeing who y'all think are the best in the east.

I agree that it takes a good catcher to make a good pitcher better. not enough coaches let their catchers call games.

I have seen the Hensley girl play and she does have a very strong arm. I was very impressed, she is a tall girl too, I dont know how tall but tall for a catcher. Does anyone know where she goes to high school?

Surely we have more college prospects at the catcher position than that in the state of Tennessee!! I have a young daughter who loves to catch is the reason the subject interests me so much. I saw a girl catch for the Knoxville Fury who really looked like a college prospect to me (think I am a pretty good judge of talent), I don't know her age or name but she is very talented. Come on people throw some names and interested college names out there. Softball is just around the corner!

Does anyone know if Jackie Baird from GPS is still committed to UT? I've heard she may be going elsewhere!
