  1. Mr. Sultanofswat I admire the hardnose play both players made that night at Jeff. What I didn't like was the punch from him and spouting off when both players were on the ground. Players from other teams say he likes to run his jaw. I wish our player would have jacked it for him that night. He has been this way his whole life so it is nothing new. I saw him wimp out when he got hit on the elbow the other night. I hope you kissed it for him and made it better.
  2. JC did not have a pitcher make all conference which they shouldn't have. Offensively they put up good numbers and went 11-3 out of conference with wins over Gibbs (twice), Crockett and Powell. You only saw three games for Jeff so you don't know what the players selected did the rest of the games as I don't know what the other teams players did either. The coaches are in same boat as far as seeing players play. By the way JC has 3 players going on to play college ball Lewis, Lambert and Collins.
  3. Okay. Mr Solomon I see you pointed out JC players finally. Now it is my turn. The best player JC had in district tourney was not all conference so it wasn't the tournament. The only reason you are upset is your SON did not make it. I do not think the coaches slighted your players either. Your coach is a horse's rear end and everyone knows it. Your catcher is a jerk and wanna be thug. The 4 players from Jeff who made it are top class players as well as their parents. I heard last Bryan Lewis is signing wirh Chatt State on Friday. Evan hasn't decided whether he will play ball in college or not and the other 2 are juniors. I hope just like in football you play one and done. Paybacks are coming. I hope you still love Traywick when they do.
  4. Congratulations to the Jefferson County Patriots on qualifying for regionals. A team that had high expectations at the first of the year are now living up to it. The Patriots have won 6 of their last 8 games and can claim a district championship with a win over number 1 seed Sevier County tonight. Sorry to lose Big E for the tournament but all of the seniors have stepped up at the last part of season. Go far Patriots. Don't let it the season end at the Regionals.
  5. According to TSSAA rules if a player(s) becomes involved any activity resembling a fight they are to be ejected. Also if a coach or player makes contact with an umpire this is also grounds for an ejection. Has anyone contacted TSSAA OFFICE? I am sure they would like to prevent another Union County situation. Also heard this is not the first time Traywick had had a problem with bumping an umpire. Are the rich people of Sevier County paying off the umps. I haven't seen evidence of it but heard a lot of calls have went Sevier 's way this year.
  6. I know in the Sevier and Jeff game that their was a little problem. Also heard that their is a video showing Traywick bumping an umpire during it. Was he ejected?
  7. Jeff County has posted two big wins the last couple of days. First they beat a very good Crockett team 8 to 7 on Wednesday night and then thrashed Morristown West 23 to 3 on Thursday night. These past couple of games show what this team is capable of when they play together and everyone gets on the same page. Pitching has been great and hitting also has been strong. If the Patriots can keep up this intensity they will be a force in the tournament. They have Powell at Powell on Saturday, Sevier at home Monday and Gibbs at home Wednesday. Patriots don't rest on what you have done but what you can accomplish in the near future. GO PATRIOTS!!!
  8. East and West play Friday and Saturday.
  9. I don't think I would give the IMAC to the Bears yet. M East has only 3 losses with 2 games left against M West and Sevier still has Jeff County left at Jeff County and Seymour still has a game against M West on Monday. Tournament will be very interesting. Jeff County beat Crockett 8 to 7 on Wednesday night and then beat M West 23 to 3 at West last night. I also know Jeff is looking forward to Sevier coming to their place Monday. Jeff is going to finish 6th regardless of outcome but I know Jeff has played the last couple of games like they are capable of.
  10. Jefferson County 23 Mo West 3 in 5 innings
  11. I agree that several of these players have been coached by Carson Newman coaches in the past. I also agree in that I don't see Coach Jones saying those things either. This team is loaded with as much potential as I have seen in a while since Potts, Long, Ausmus and Bowlin were there. I have seen several of their games this year and they just can't seem to put it all together. I think if everyone could get on the same page this team can still accomplish a lot.
  12. I think the tournament key is going to be pitching as you go deeper in the tournament. Mo West has probably the best 1 2 3 starters in the conference followed by Seymour. I think the bullpen will also be called on a lot. Right now I would say Mo West would be the favorite especially if they have homefield advantage. I think Sevier and Seymour are next. East has one great pitcher butthe deeper they go I think pitching will do them in. South Doyle will be a factor in game 1 for sure if Kirkland is pitching and if they get out the gate strong they could pull it off. Jeff County has been like Jekyl and Hyde this year. They have played great at times and at times not so great even in the same game. Earlier pitching appeared to be the problem but now hitting is inconsistent. Jeff County took 2nd in the district in 2008 and 3rd last year. They seem to play well at tournament time. Cherokee could be the spoiler. They have made vast improvements over last year mainly in part to coaching and beat Jeff earlier and took East to the last out the other night. Cocke County will battle but still a little too young to maybe contend this year. I am really looking forward to the tournament because I feel the IMAC may be one of the stronger districts this year from top to bottom.
  13. i thought the throw was to the inside of the bag and the 3rd baseman just missed it. As far as the umpiring goes we have had some this year that went our way and some that didn't. Just part of the game. Good luck to you all too. I think the tournament should be interesting. Home field advantage will play a part in it.
  14. Is it okay for middle schoolers to be in a high school team's dugout if they are going to play on the high school team the next season? Also what if one the prospective players attended middle school in another county but is going to transfer before his freshmen year? Just wondering the interpretation of this. Coach of this hight school team has been a little shady first as an assistant now as head coach.
  15. As for the last post I would like to add this. The players I think you are referring to have not hit well this year while the hitters that don't go to cn to hit are hitting the ball. Also you need to understand that one of the reasons the kids are going to cn is not only for hitting but also in hopes of maybe getting a scholarship from their because what I heard it is mostly the juniors and sophs going. Finally this another example of why sports don't succed in Jeff County. The parents cannot accept they are no longer coaches and let the ones getting paid to coach do their jobs. The boys basketball team was better this year because they let the coaches and didn't have anyone coaching from the stands.
