  1. Who is this man to say that a coach chokes?? I want to see your resume. Heritage was predicted to finish 6th the last 2 years in the district, and some how his team finished 2nd during the season both times?? He also did this the last 2 years with only 1 senior starting on both of the teams. He has won a district tournament, 2 regular season championships, and been in the tournament championship 3 times. He did all of this in a matter of 7 years. And during that 7 years he has 2 losing season. Including one this year which his team finished 2nd during the season though. How do you have a losing season and still finish 2nd in your district? He also did not have one player play AAU over the summer like most of the kids from other teams do, and he still gets his kids to compete with any 1a team around. People may not like him but he is one of the best coaches around, 1a through 3a. You can say whatever you want grendal but he started a school from the bottom and has done a great job!
  2. Hope Clarksville Academy goes all the way. Now that districts are over whats your picks for the best players from each team? CA- Of course the twins are both great players and everyone knows that. Travis russell is also a great player, that can shoot the ball very well. Probally the best shooter on the team, I dont think alot of people realize that. Mcewen- The big man inside #50 uses his size very well to get to the rim. I also think that the point guard (#11) holds that team together. He feeds the ball inside more consistently then the other guards and he also is a very smart player when he has the ball in his hand. East- Woodard is the big threat on the team, he gets to the basket better than anyone and in a few games proved he can shoot the 3. But if you leave #23 and #15 open they can both fill up the stat sheet with 3's themselves. WHH- The two post players are good players, and their both Sophmores. One scores more than the other but the other is more effective on the boards. The point guard (#11) seems to make the highlight passes which gives alot of easy lay-ups, but he doesnt score much. NC- The new post player seemed to be pretty good, but the chemistry wasnt there. It depends the night for the rest of the team. They either shoot lights out or cant buy a basket. #20 seems to be the only guard that tries to get to the basket. HC- Skelton seems to get alot of offensive rebounds, and easy put backs. The other two big boys that played did a very good job on the boards. # 23 seemed to be the only one who could hit a 3. MH- The point guard #5 is very quick player and gets to the basket alot and also shoots the ball quite a bit from the outside. #31 was a good spot up shooter who shot alot of 3's. #13 also seemed to make some acrobatic shots the few times I watched MH play. JB- #21 was the only player that could pull up and hit a jump shot and also get to the basket. One decent post player but I dont know his name or number. Taller kid with the long hair.
  3. Now that the season is coming to an end, who in everyones opinion is the best 10-15 players in the district?? So pretty much the All-District team?
  4. hc played great "team ball" last night the actually broke a press!!! i am happy for them they needed that win that knock WHH down to 3nd and McEwen to 2nd, skelton roper and hammond hit the boards hard last night with some good offensive rebounds and 2nd chance shots, featherstone and monroe sat most of the game due to foul trouble but played extremely well when played, to me it seemed they couldnt stop monroe from driving and scoring, ref's?? horrible on both ends, so now i guess u can say its anybodys chance in the tournament goodluck to all teams HC loses Skelton and Barnes, which will be tough, but with whats returning, as you said " they may be making some noise " They have some younger boys who can step up on varsity next year too. I was at the game but i am going to say that WHH got the raw end of the deal with the refs. HC did have one player foul out and two anothers in foul trouble, but WHH had 3 starters foul out, with the other two starters and three bench players also having four fouls apiece. HC was in the double bonus early in the second quater and in the third quater too. HC shot over 40 free throws according to the books while WHH only shot 12. This game was poorly called in favor of HC. I will however give HC credit they played hard, they made free throws, and they owned the boards offensively and defensivly, this had a major impact on the game. This was also probally the best game out of the 4 I have seen HC play this year. Another thing to verify is that Mcewen is still in third place. They must beat CA and WHH in the upcoming week to be in second place. WHH beat CA and Mcewen already, this means WHH will own either tiebreaker if Mcewen loses one of the two games. However if Mcewen wins both games they will finish in second.
  5. Im not a Heritage or East fan but shouldnt Heritage be a pretty good team since they only lost one starter in albright? They had 2 other players make All-District and another one make All-Tourney. They have two big guys inside that played alot when they played our team and played pretty good in the tournament. They also have a great coach in Petrone that seems to always have his team prepared. Even if people dont like them they will not be a team that anyone can look over. Also I think East could be a bigger contender then what people think. Woodard is the best offensive PG in the district and had two great games against us last year. Then Stratton is the best 3 point shooter in the district, and by far when he is hot. That is two big offensive threats you have to worry about just about every night. If they get bette inside they could be a problem for alot of teams. Just my opinion but what does everyone else think about these two teams?
  6. for some reason, i smell an upset on this cold friday night. the patriots are ready to roll. trousdale is looking to destroy. gunna be a tough one. both defenses and offenses are ready. 14-10 patriots.
