  1. wow, she played the entire year as an 8th grader, we all know this. incredible to be good enough to play as an 8th grader and have an impact like she did. YES SHE PLAYED THE ENTIRE YEAR AS AN 8TH GRADER, this doesnt take away from what she has accomplished. chill out, maybe get some bran for your muffin.
  2. I think anyone that follows girls high school basketball knows that she played as an 8th grader on the high school team. This is a small perk of playing at such a small high school where k-12 is all under one roof. The amazing thing is that she scored these points as an 8th grader against high school girls. She led RBS in scoring and rebounding and led them to the state tournament for only the 3rd time in school history. Yes she had an extra year but to score 3000 points is amazing whether its 4 or 5 years. Im sure , if you have seen her play, that all her stats are impressive , not just scoring. Swanson said it best, it couldnt have happened to a better person and she is not done yet. These are all facts, so not sure who is blowing here, but its not Laken, seems like all shes doing is scoring. Be happy for people who work hard and have success, thats what is supposed to happen.
  3. Congratulations to RBS and Jackson County. Just wanted to say Laken Leonard scored her 3000 point tonight against a very good Pickett County Team. Good Luck to both teams as they move on.
  4. Just my opionion, but Laken Leonard is the most versatile player i have seen play in a long time. I have seen most play that have been mentioned, at least the 3 mentioned. She plays all positions on the floor equally and very well i might add. I think it is very impressive when you see Leonard playing post and the game gets tight or the other team starts pressing and you see her come outside to handle the ball. Being from RBS i have seen this her entire career. I saw her lead RBS to the state tournament as an 8th grader, leading them in scoring and rebounding. This was only RBS's 3rd trip to the state tournament ever. Im not sure how someone from Clarkrange would know Ms. Leonard's rebounding stats but i would like to know all her stats for her career, scoring, rebounding, assist and steals. I bet that they are very impressive and im sure she has to be getting close to 3000 points. I watched her score some of those while at RBS, as an 8 th grader, and i know people that have to criticize will say that shouldnt count, but it does count and whats most impressive is she did it as an 8th grader against high school girls. This is not a contest between Heady and Leonard and it is not from past play. This is for the year 2010 and im sure many different girls are deserving. Again, only my opinion, but as an all around athlete and player that does it all for their team, scoring, rebounding, steals, assists, and defense, Ms. Leonard is one of the best and well deserving of this award again.
  5. so both post players starting for clarkrange arent from clarkrange? now thats funny. i dont blame a player for switching schools, that is their choice, but when leonard went to jc, and sleeper to rbs for that matter, clarkrange fans were furious and could not shut up about it. they ridiculed the leonard family relentlessly. what a bunch of whining hypocrits.
  6. good game, whats the story on the post player for clarkrange? says she is a sophomore but i dont remember her on the team last year.
  7. I dont know who the best in single a is because i havent seen everyone play. i have seen Leonard and Heady many times. Leonard is by far the best all around player. Heady is very good at her position but Leonard can do it all. She handles the ball, shoots the three and posts up. Heady cant do all that. Leonard will be playing guard at MTSU. Just by looking at where they both signed tells the story. MTSU currently ranked in top 25 in nation. Leonard is current Class A Miss Basketball. Congratulations to both girls, both well deserved.
