I am not saying she isn't a good player but please tell me how many shots she takes a night compared to how many she makes? Also what about turnovers the one game I watched she had at least 6+ turnovers. I am pretty sure if she was my point guard I would worry more about ball handleing than points scored. Not to mention how when she does turn it over she just gives up on the play like she doesn't care but I could be wrong.

Well just to clarify things, I am not William. Yes I did play high school basketball with him and I think he might have even posted on this name back around 2004-2005. If you really want to know who I am my name is James Hatcher and just I post as I have seen which is only a few home games.

I saw that York score too and figured it had to be a mistake, but then found it again on the KY scoreboard. Did half the Clay Co. team stay home? Have the flu? How could York beat Clay Co? Someone needs to say something since this makes no sense!

Bobcat, it was the "refs". Those KY refs are out to get Clay County just like the TN Refs. I could only imagine how the Clay fans acted. It is actually quite funny sometimes but gets old when they scream WALK! 10000000000000000000000 times.

Anytime I get onto these boards and someone from Clay Co. post all I see is how good their (boys) team is. Well I logged onto today expecting to see some posts from the Wayne Co. Ky, tournament. However to my disappointment I didn't see anything so I figured I would check the scores out. Well from all I hear how "great" Clay Co. is and how they are a "state" bound team they couldn't come away with a single win in the x-mas tournament. They could not even finish off York Institute, which lost to Pickett earlier this year and is sporting an 4-11 record. What happen Clay why is there not anyone posting anything? If this team some how makes it out of the region the chatt. teams will have a field day especially if Clay has to travel. However I guess it was the "refs" being the reason you guys went 0-3 over x-mas break. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Wow seriously grow up; It is an opinion and I am pretty sure I voted for Obama this election /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />. Also needs more training to go onto the next level? Umm he is maybe a 6 foot post player who can not make a jump shot he would even be a very small point guard at the "next level". Sorry it won't happen he should live breath and eat books/homework.

First of all whether Shawn plays at the next level or not is for one none of your business and for two what the heck is it too you? Three, I was not the one who brought this up, if you could read correctly. I came on here as I always do to see what was said about the game and CCHS winning that night. But what I found was someone bashing my son who gives his heart and soul to basketball. What is so funny to me that there is a lot of good talent on the CCHS team and why someone would single out a player who keep in mind is only a junior and start all this crap about whether he will play at the next level or not is beyond me. I really hate to go here but I guess I may as well. Now it is also funny to me that someone would choose to pick the only black player on this team and started putting him down. Well I really hate that in the time and date that some people are still stuck in the 60's but that is your problem.

 

I do not come on here to start a fuss or get into bashing. I come on here to (not only) support my son BUT all the CCHS players girls and boys. I am a diehard fan and always will be of CCHS sports. I will also stand up for ANY of them if they are being bashed by anyone and don't care who likes it.

 

But I will not ever talk about a player as you all have about my son. I have never seen any other player bashed as you and the others have done. Shawn is a good player, who lives, eats, and breathes BBall and with more training HE CAN go to the next level. But that is up to him and God and nobody else. Never say Never for you know not what the future holds for anyone.

If battlecat was meaning by a previous post that shawn garrett would play college ball by asking if whoever played at the next level. Well Shawn Garrett is good in "high school" I would almost put my life on it that he will not play ball at the "next level". For 1 he isn't strong big or tall enough, and 2 he doesn't have the mental toughness to with stand what college coaches dish out. He could possibly play juco but I still see people twice his size there also with "tons" more talent. The road will end at the high school level thats why I don't understand why parents, teachers, and coaches think sports should be life in high school.

Clay County made Pickett look pretty bad on their home floor. I left at halftime with the score like 28 to 6, so I am sure it was very a easy Clay Co. win tonight. I think Pickett scored 1 point in the first quarter with prob 12+ turnovers.

I agree with senator; the game will be closer but Clay Co. should win by 10-15 if they come to play and do not think they are going to win without having to try.

I personally think its the year for Clay, and with that being said I think they take Pickett easier than before because seems like Walden is on in the tourny, and Clay seems to be playing good as of late. I will take Clay by 10+ in this one with them finally getting to host their sub-state. However I think sub-state is going to be very tough because they are going to play Temple or Grace which is 2 very good teams. Truly I think Clay will finally get to state this year though and then who knows how far they will go from there.

Well looks like another year that district 7A has dominated District 8A.

My opinion I think we will see for the boys side Clay County vs. Pickett County. With Clay County winning it all and finally getting to host a sub-state vs. prolly Grace or Temple. Which with either one would be a very tough game, but I think Clay finally gets their sub-state victory against one of the Chattanooga teams.

As for the girls I think RBS will make it to the regional championship game pretty easily unless Clay comes out like they did vs. Pickett,if thats the case then it could be a very good game aswell. As for Jackson County vs. Clarkrange being a coin toss with Jackson prolly winning a close game. But who knows Lamar always seems to have some magic up his sleeve when his season is on the line.

Last time I heard, which was with about 2 mins left in the game, the score was 65-50 Clarkrange.

Yeah, I couldn't pull it off like I did vs Clarkrange. As for the game it could have went both ways, boiled down to free throws we missed a couple and Pickett hit theirs, so it could have went either way. As for H.S. I think we are playing good and on the right tract and almost where we need to be for the tourny. The 3's are now falling for us, tonight I was 3-5 ended with 15 points, but that doesn't matter because we didn't win. Anyways very good game, both teams played very hard.

Pickett Co. over Hermitage Springs 43-39.

Well I haven't posted in forever haven't really felt the need because all it is is a distraction. Anways H.S. was down by 10 @ the half 28-18, they fought back hard in the 2nd half and was down by 3 with 12 seconds to go. I hit a three to tie it, which sent it to overtime, and we then ended up winning by 1 point. With this win we clinched 4th place in the district possiably 3rd if we can pull it out in Pickett tomorrow night. Either way 4th or 5th didn't matter since 4th and 5th play each other. But very good game to say the least.

Hermitage Springs over Clarkrange 57-56 in overtime!

Well lets hear some opinions? Pickett comes to H.S. friday and they have a game Tuesday. We have a week to prepare for them since we don't have a game till we play them friday. Anyways lets hear it from everyone.

Well, in reality Saylor is way underrated. He is the best player and the leader of this team and does whatever he has to do to get his team a win. Wright is no where near the player Bailey was and Saylor shut him down. He would do the same to Wright no doubt.

LOL I agree with Dawg05, Saylor is a great defender, and I know if he can hold bailey to 14 points in 2 huge games, district and region championship, I am pretty sure he could have easily shut down Wright with no problem. Because right now Wright isn't anything special to what Bailey was his senior year.

Clay shot a lot of threes in the first half but they also went torward the basket quite a bit. Your D had nothing to do with them missing, I don't care tells you it did. They were just being nice. We missed open shot after open shot. The refs were not bad both ways, they were bad one way. Period.

 

You might win some games over at HS especially if you get officiating like that every game but when you have to play those road games and play at Upperman, you won't be close.

LOL @ the officiating being bad for Clay. You was in the double bonus the first quarter... Btw you are wrong about 12 it was 14 because I looked @ the books like I do after every game and there was 14 called against us to Clay's 5. Cmon now the officals was bad both ways don't know how it could have been so bad for Clay getting the double bonus in the first quarter, to us getting the 6th foul called on ya'll with 56 seconds left in the 2nd. So please explain how the refs were so horriable for Clay?

bump, I want to hear some opinions from some Clay County fans.

1 shot? Yeah that usuaully means the D was good because noone had any open looks. How was we fouling every time down? Clay in the first half shot 95% three's and never looked inside to Rich. They didn't drive any in the first half they was relying mostly on the three so there was really no way we was fouling the first time down in the first half because Clay would jack up a three before anyone knew what was going on.

Coach Edwards and even Clay's players said our defense was really tough. Also coach Edwards said he truly thinks we can beat Pickett this year and be the #3 team possiably 2 team going into the tourny. Main reason we didn't ever get a lead in the first half was the fouls, the refs didn't let ether team play hardly and was poor bothways. The officals need to be more consistant than what I saw tonight. You said it yourself Dawg05 if we could keep it within 10 you would pick use to be the 3 team in the district but from what you said we didn't have a chance to do it.

P.S. holding Saylor to only 10 points and Godwin to 16 is really good compared to the numbers they have put up this year.

Not to mention hold Clay Co. to only 47 points is good especially with all the scoreing abilities they have in Kerr, Knight, Godwin, Rich, Walden, Ferral.

Hmm still no respect?? We hung with a very good team possiably the best in the state. Not to mention they did beat RBS by 30 something, ok enough said . Reason I said no respect is because you said it won't be so pretty next time. HOW DO YOU KNOW?

First quarter we started off good ending it with a 7-3 lead H.S. Then Clay went on a run to end the half 16-13 Clay Co.'s favor. This game in the first off ended with some bad officiating but thats not the reason we lost. It was bad both ways missed alot of calls that should of been calls and didn't let us play.

First half ended with 14 fouls called on H.S. and 6 called on Clay Co. But enough of that, both teams defense was really good tonight. Clay went on a run in the 3rd and got up by 15 but we cut it back down to 9 to end the game in Clay Co's favor. Game was back and fourth the first off then Clay took a lead and never lost it after the third. They are a great team and I hope after tonight H.S. will get a little respect from everyone. Clay scoreing was Godwin - 16, Walden - 10, Knight - 6, Rich - 6 or 8, and Kerr - with 4, don't know how many Ferral had.

Was a great game and almost a good barn burner. Clay has a chance to win district, and we have a chance to take a commanding lead for 3rd next Friday night vs Pickett @ H.S. Congrats to the dawgs for a hard faught battle and both sides put out great effort and I want to say good game.

Clay County defeats Hermitage Springs (47-38, 9 point game for the dawgs)

From what I have heard, they tried way to hard to get T.C. a dunk but never succeeded. Anyways still waiting on the Pickett fans to get on and say something. I don't figure there will be 2 many posts come from the mountain tonight.
