  1. So will he be at the regions or is he out for the year?
  2. I'm pretty sure the farragut administration doesn't care one way or the other. This guy said he approched the AD and he said no thanks! This isn't Bradley where the school cares about wrestling.
  3. My understanding is that he has approached the program and no one has gotten back with him. If he has secured a position at Oak Ridge then I made a mistake on my original post and wish him well at Oak Ridge. They should be a regional power within 4 years.
  4. I understand that he wrestled at Univ of ILL and has coached at the High School and Collage level. I've been told he asked about the coaching position at Farragut and told no way. So now he has talked to Oakridge about starting a program there. Is this guy for real? Is Farragut going to miss out on a long-term coach? I think Joe and Kerri will be gone after they graduate so hopefully someone is looking at the big picture.
  5. Looks like Farragut needs to teach their kids on how to not get pinned! It's hard to win giving up 4 pins and 1 tech. Even with Dix in that mix, I think they would still loose. Is Karns the top team in their District?
  6. I agree with your statement above. I didn't have head to head information but based it on what I saw at state! The young men I chose were the best out of 140+ kids in the state. They were either in a zone and wrestling their best like Nick Bundy or Seniors giving it their last shot and were not going to be denied. Taxman stated "Last year's DII winners at 112, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 171, 189 and 215 would have won a consolidated state tournament." DII 9 wins , DI-5. I was wanting to see Taxman's logic on his picks! 135 - *Jordan Leen (Bay) m.d. Frank Mondelli (Ryan) 14-4. 152 - Nick Marable (CBHS) d. Spencer Manley (Mc) 10-5. 160 - *Ryan Scott (Mc) d. David Donlon (MBA) 9-6. The Three above are my DII Solid picks. Jordan and Ryan both All Americans and one National Champion can't be denied. I was just looking and giving my picks. There's too many variables during the season to say a kid is better because of one match. Which picks were crazy and why? I feel that 103, 125, and 160 are solid picks for the DI. So again the the two divisions are pretty equal in the top 3. 103 - Dario Rudas (ER) m.d. Devon Martin (Maple) 9-0. DI-Winner 112 - Nic Bundy (Hv) d. Danny Coleman (Cleve) 11-6. D-I Winner 119 - Shawn Cordell (Brad) d. Ari Ibrahim (Ov) 5-1. D-1 Winner 125 - Kyle James (SD) t.f. Kelly Felix (Frk) 4:00/26-11. DI-Winner 140 - Scott Dix (Farr) m.d. Andrew Barnett (Germ) 18-5. DI-winner Dominated the final> 160 - Quinn Gibson (Brad) p. Tom Minwell (Clk) 1:10. DI-winner OW 171 - Bryant Blackmon (Brad) d. Justin Knox (Farr) 1-0. DI -Winner Great match 189 - Paul Campbell (SD) d. Kenny Meredith (Black) 2-1. DI -Winner Close match 215 - Matt Bailey (Brad) d. Ben Hazelett (UnionC) 3-2. DI -Winner close match 275 - Joseph Hudgins (Fview) p. Shawn Elston (Glen) 5:34. DI -Winner I thought the DII hvys looked bettter but hay I went with the DII guy.
  7. Taxman so you're say 9 0ut of 14 go to DII. Here's my pick! 103 - Dario Rudas (ER) m.d. Devon Martin (Maple) 9-0. DI-Winner 112 - Nic Bundy (Hv) d. Danny Coleman (Cleve) 11-6. D-I Winner 119 - Shawn Cordell (Brad) d. Ari Ibrahim (Ov) 5-1. 125 - Kyle James (SD) t.f. Kelly Felix (Frk) 4:00/26-11. DI-Winner 130 - Jake West (Brad) d. Kellen Holliman (BW) 1-1 (2OT) by tiebreaker. 135 - John Lane (SD) m.d. Tyler Wright (ER) 11-3. 140 - Scott Dix (Farr) m.d. Andrew Barnett (Germ) 18-5. DI-winner 145 - Luke Sanders (MontCe) p. Bond Davis (Frk) 7:12 (2OT). 152 - Ty Cody (SH) m.d. Chad Turner (Farr) 12-2. 160 - Quinn Gibson (Brad) p. Tom Minwell (Clk) 1:10. DI-winner 171 - Bryant Blackmon (Brad) d. Justin Knox (Farr) 1-0. DI -Winner 189 - Paul Campbell (SD) d. Kenny Meredith (Black) 2-1. DI -Winner 215 - Matt Bailey (Brad) d. Ben Hazelett (UnionC) 3-2. DI -Winner 275 - Joseph Hudgins (Fview) p. Shawn Elston (Glen) 5:34. DI -Winner 103 - Jay Adamson (ND) d. Ben Johnson (Bay) 5-2. 112 - Whitt Dunning (Ryan) d. Corey Manson (Bay) 7-0. 119 - William Simpson (MBA) d. Jake Geismar (Bay) 8-6. 125 - Jimmy Hiller (Ryan) m.d. Matt Francis (MBA) 18-6. 130 - Cody Cleveland (Mc) d. Tim Manson (Bay) 11-6. 135 - *Jordan Leen (Bay) m.d. Frank Mondelli (Ryan) 14-4. 140 - Andrew Smith (Mc) m.d. Daniel Waddell (Bay) 17-5. 145 - Justin Blair (Mc) m.d. Dean Smith (Webb) 9-1. 152 - Nick Marable (CBHS) d. Spencer Manley (Mc) 10-5. 160 - *Ryan Scott (Mc) d. David Donlon (MBA) 9-6. 171 - Adam Stark (Ryan) d. Jay Simpson (CBHS) 8-4. 189 - Michael Marable (CBHS) d. Derek Walker (Bay) 9-5. 215 - J.T. Wash (BA) d. Chris Lomas (Ryan) 8-4. 275 - Andrew Hooser (MUS) d. Nick Forte (BA) 6-5.
  8. What are the top three teams and how will they finish?
  9. So are you saying DI 0 & DII 14 or more like DI-6 & DII-8?
  10. Me! Undefeated regular season at 145lbs. Had over 21 pins my Jr season. Team lost 1 district match in 3 years. Good Old Days!
  11. Does anyone know what wgt class Borneman of Houston is going to wrestle? I think a Knox from Farragut vs. Borneman would be a great match! Is anyone else looking at some good dream matches? By the way Collins Hill was charging $10 per family at their event! Could the Irish back off the gate price or give a family plan at the gate? If they do that, I can afford one of those "t-shirts for sale "that they seem to announce every 10 min. Also, I will be able to buy more in the concession, invite family and friends etc. But seriously, the Father Ryan Tourney charged more at the gate than any other Tournament last year. The Pope doesn't need the extra change! JOKING!

  13. Quote from from another site. Not mine! wrestler Registered User (12/20/04 2:33 pm) Reply Re: No worry, Farragut wrestling on track -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Farragut is not as tough as everyone says they are. They should not be ranked at all. I bet they will loose to Karns this year, and Maryville is always a contender for the region title. In fact, Maryville would not have lost to Catholic if the line up were the same as it is now. Farragut might even have trouble beating Sevier County. They are always way to cocky, and someone in their region will put them in their place. Even William Blount has a good chance if they wrestle well, and don't forget about South Doyle. Last year Farrigut didn't even make the state duals, so maybe that's why they are giving themselves plenty of time to perpare for region matches after Christmas. Who knows, they might not even make it to region duals this year. FYI
