  1. I don't think this is a tough call at all--The Green Bracket is the toughest bracket at the TOC in this session--and every one of the teams in it was highly ranked to end the year last year- Skyline BTW only has two losses--both to nationally ranked Duncanville (the loss attributed to Skyline is a mistake in their last game)--So in the West side of the bracket--they will have to face two top 50 teams--Oak Ridge who has also won 7 of 10 against teams in the top 1,000 in the country with 5 of those against top 500 teams and 2 in the top 100--and Skyline who has 6 wins against top 500 teams Now without going into great detail about the teams in the ladies Classic--and not a slam-You have Cosby--and arguably no one in the top 5 in the state (you have Mt. Juliett Cleveland Oak Ridge Greenville) When you get invited to a prestige tournament--give your team a chance to compete against some of the best n the country--(especially two of the best womens basketball state in the country in California and Texas) and expose your players to recruiters from around the country--how do you pass it up--not to mention the trip to Phoenix) How can this possibly be a hard choice-- and while I would have also liked to have seen West go to the last session--who knows if they would have been put in the same division--my guess is not seeing where they were seeded for this tourney
  2. Pretty bad gameplan by West--since they will be playing significantly better competition than teams ranked 5-14 in TN--and that includes Cosby who some say is the second best team in Virginia---but maybe Cosby should have dodged the tournament as well--They will be depriving the Virginia Fans of their presence over the holidays This is a great tournament--but how do you pass up an opportunity to see where you stack up against the best in the nation--after all West will get their chance in the state playoffs
  3. Great to see some of the best of Tennessee step into the national limelight--Congrats to Memphis Central who did the state proud taking on some the nations elite in Arizona--They will be much better for the experience come tourney time Looking at the schedules-and wins and losses--this would be my guess of the best in AAA I would have to go with Memphis Central--Their losses have been to elite teams--and hung around to the end for one of the best teams in California and Pennsylvania-beat Riverdale Baptist (MD) after an early loss to the same team-Beat an excellent Potter's House Christian (Jacksonville, FL) (71-70), and Riverdale Morristown West-Beat South Greene but soft schedule keeps them out of the top spot--Get their chance to take over #1 next week when they play top seeded and nationally ranked Oak Ridge (CA) in their opening game of the TOC- have crushed everyone they have played Riverdale--played Memphis close and beat Mount Juliet Blackman-Beat Lawrence County and Wilson Central Jackson County Mount Juliet-Only close loss to Riverdale Clarksville--Soft schedule holding them back Ridgeway-Beat Campbell-Lutheran East and loss to a good Horn Lake (MS) Lawrence County-Beat Smyrna-Livingston Academy and had a 1 point loss to Blackman Millington Central-Beat White Station lost to a good Parkview (MS) Smyrna-Only loss to Lawrence County Lots of other potentials especially Oak Ridge who are coming on strong after an early stumble
  4. BTW--Memphis just lost a heartbreaker to Mnt Lebanon 63-56 in a game that was a 1 pointer with 27 seconds to go
  5. actually the brackets were about right When you consider that the way they had to split up the California Schools who were all probably in the top 15 nationally to start the year #1 St Mary's #2 Mater Dei #3 Poly and #4 Brea--and that's exactly how the brackets fell and on each side of the bracket you had Memphis and Mt Lebanon and on the other side you had Bolingbrook, Christ the King and Riverdale Baptist--I think the only thing you could really argue is whether some teams got put in the wrong division It is the next TOC event bracket that looks very questionable--with what looks to be the three best teams all in the same Bracket--Mo West Oak Ridge and Dallas Skyline-- Oak Ridge beat Brea in the Brea Tournament which is why Brea dropped out of the national rankings for a while
