I feel like Cheatham came in a little over confident and Harpeth came in with a score to settle. They wanted to win more than Cheatham and it showed. You hit the nail on the head, Cheatham came out in the first half flat but stepped it up in the second half, just not enough to defeat a determined Harpeth team. Congrats to the players and Coach Wilson.

I think your confused. Beating the "MIGHTY CUBS" in the distric tournament means your the tourney champs, The "MIGHTY CUBS" beating your A_S twice, alond with everyone else in the distric means they are THE DISTRIC CHAMPS. You idiot.

Hey Bigdaddy67, I believe its time to make a road trip to Hickman Co. this friday. I quess your ready for some football. I want be making the trip this year but wish the cubs the best. Let me know how they looked, it sounds like they may have it together this year, hope so. They have alot more talent to put on the field this year, but they are still young and with little experience in most cases. #12 is a talented and capable QB but if the defense gets to him like they did to #15 last year, he'll be on the "injured reserved" list most of the season. Cant wait till Smith Co rolls in to town, maybe we'll send them home crying in thier gatorade. Keep me posted during the preseason.

I dont think Cheatham will be going to creekwood tomorrow. Ashland City is flooded, the river is still rising, the bridge to creekwood is closed, curfew in ashland city 7pm to 6am. ( no passing through ). Wide spread power outages. Hundreds or even Thousands suffering over the flooding. The coach is flooded in, some players are flood in, some flooded out. Baseball doesn't seem very important today!

I was told cheatham let harpeth score 12 to 14 runs ( in 2 innings ) before changing pitcher. Number 10 is a good pitcher but when a team is hitting him like that you have to pull him.

I asked this question in the 11 aa thread but I'll ask here too. What happened at the ROCK for the score to be so lopsided?

The only thing football is doing while basketball camps are underway is lifting weights. And yes I know lifting is an important part of football. When you consider they have weight lifting during 4th period before that, I dont see that missing a couple of weeks is going to matter that much. Now if they were missing the first two weeks on the field, that would be different and I would agree with you, but there not. Baseball is missing field time. I dont think I said or even suggested anyone was making, much less, holding a gun to these kids heads to participate in football spring practice. I dont think I said or even suggested that the coaches had a problem with sports overlapping. I know all the coaches support the other sports and let the players play. I said it was risky and kept the baseball players from getting valuable practice time.

Thatcher is playing baseball along with James Ward, Sam Walton, Spencer Jenkins. Eads and Weaks ( 6 )I guess if 1/3 of the football team skips out on two weeks of practice at the start of the season that will be ok too.

Cheatham is having spring practice now, ( last week of feb. first week of march ). As far as interrupting baseball; there are 6 baseball players ( a 1/3 of the team ) that are missing two crucial weeks of baseball practice, two scrimmages and are risking injury. Bad idea.

Cheatham started spring FOOTBALL practice today so that the 4 or 5 players that play both can participate. Is anyone else doing this? Also what do think about baseball players suiting up in pads during baseball season, seems risky to me.

Cheatham has a new coach this year, again. Coach BOYD is a real class act. He does nt have alot of highschool baseball coaching experience but I think he will do a fine job. It will be a challenge for him, they are very young, just like football and basketball, so it will be a uphill battle. Good Luck Cubs!
