NCS takes this one 42 -14. Probably one of their slowest starting games this year. Knobloch finally gets them on the board with big punt return for TD, a long catch for TD, and a kickoff return for TD. Add TD runs from Weiss and McCoy and this one was over. Defense started off great, then gave up a couple of huge runs for McEwen scores. Good win, but gotta start better next week.

McEwen visits NCS for a 10-A contest. Haven't heard alot on Coach T about McEwen this year. Will Brother's keep the Eagles focused, especially with school out for fall break, and JB waiting on them the next week?

Fox 17 just giving a little pub to NCS for the success so far. Interviewed Coach Brothers, Parker Jones (LB), and Nick Weiss (RB). Basically the players saying that their not looking ahead to playoffs, just taking it 1 game at a time. Good for NCS. Congrats and good luck on your season.

I can't remember how the district finished up last year, but know NC finished near the bottom. For this season, NC has lost their leading scorer to graduation, and their PG moved and changed schools. However, I think they win twice as many games as they did last year. A couple of Freshmen and a couple of Sophomores should lead this team. Yes, they are young, but this group will be aggressive. Should be a fun year!

I can't remember, are the twins still playing for McEwen, or did they graduate last year? I know CA loses Dyer, and NC loses Buttrey. The big boys are back for WHH, don't know if they lost any starters. Gotta agree that its Malcolm & Martins show this year. However, I don't think they'll run through the district unchallenged. Is WHH in their new gym?

Great Game. Absolutely love the rivalry. Is the series all tied up again? If not, its just a game or 2 difference. DL's got a sophomore running back, Glimps, who has scored in each of the last 2 games ever since Babb got hurt. His first carry sparked DL's offense tonight when they were having trouble running the ball at the beginning of the game. Still think Goodpasture will go deep in the playoffs. They are huge up front. Athletic QB. Maybe didn't play their greatest game tonight, but they are obviously a really good team.

How do you see the district playing out as far as returning players, new players, or the loss of players to graduation?

I can understand the reasons for picking DL a little lower this year, but how could you not, when losing players like Sanderson and Bell. It will be fun to watch what Pickens does with these guys. The discipline he puts on his players is unmatched, and they will look a whole lot different after Christmas. CPA is obviously the team to beat. Lots of talent over there.

Congratulations to NCS Coach Jeff Brothers & the entire team for a big win over Zion tonight. Any word on Knobloch's injury on the last play of the game?

Gotta say "Congratulations" to NCS on a great start! Coach seems to have these guys playing some ball, and believing in themselves.

Where is NCS/Harpeth scrimmage and what time?

How is the team looking so far this summer with Coach Brothers at the helm? He should definitely bring some excitement to the program?

Congrats to both Malcom & Martin! Lipscomb will be a great fit for both. Scott Sanderson has put together a great group of guys who are competitve (won the A-Sun this year), and has proven he can do it with local talent included. Look at what former David Lipscomb high school player Josh Slater has done over there, along with BA's Brian Wright, Brandon Brown, etc... Coach Sanderson should be commended for not bypassing area kids who can play ball. Again, Congrats to both kids!!

I saw Harpeth girls play a couple of weeks ago, and they have some really good players. Hard to figure why they can't keep a coach for the long term. Seems like a good school in a good community.

Did these guys play for Houston County last year or transfer in?

Good comments dmoney. The Transfer, a post player, is very athletic, big on the boards, good ball player. NC is loaded with good 3-point shooters. They (as a team) are in a terrible shooting slump. Getting good, open looks at the basket, just nothing will fall for them. Will hopefully shoot their way out of this, and be ready for the district tourney.

NCS beats ER 69-46 in game 1. ER beats NCS 56-35 in game 2. This could be a fun game to watch if they meet a 3rd time in the district tournament!!
