  1. This will be my last post before the game. I am leaving work today at noon. I hope there are some good seats left when I get there. I know the boys on both sides will be ready. All this smack is funny and entertaining, but it does'nt mean anything. What matters is what team makes the most plays today. I know the smack talkers know this, but I hope they have enough integrity to post after the game and give Goodpasture there respect if they win! As they say in the investment commercials "Past performance does not guarentee future success!" I think if Goodpasture opens up the play book and throws they ball more than they run it, they will win. If they get to conservative, they will lose. I am confident that Goodpasture will be able to stop the run of Alcoa. I just don't know how they will do against the Alcoa passing game. I don't even know if Alcoa has a good passing game. I have not seen them play since last year. I hope everyone gets to the game safe, and I wish good health to all the players. Not only in this game, but to all the boys playing this weekend. Go Cougars!
  2. Ok Goodpasture! Come out aggressive Friday. I hope Goodpasture get creative and opens up the offense. I would like to see them throw they ball. They are not going to be able to run it down there throats. I hope they get #22, #9, and #15 involved in the passing game. Be aggresive on defense.
  3. I believe in the Cougars. They play as a team, and they will not be intimidated. The previous years means nothing. All that matters is this Friday night and who makes the plays. I know they will be agressive, and play hard. Goodpasture pulls the upset!
  4. Keep talking. It does not matter what has happened before. All that matters is Friday. Nothing more and nothing less. Lets see how they play, then talk.
  5. I hope you are wrong. Goodpasture does have an excellent passing game, I just hope they open it up. I am sure the coaching staff is looking at that hard. Goodpasture can win, but they can not win by running there basic offense. They are going to have to open it up, show diffrent formations, and run some plays that are not on tape. They have talent. They have size. They just need to be aggressive and play to win instead of playing not to lose.
  6. I am just leaving work and I can not wait to get to the game! It should be a great matchup. Hey Bulldog Fan #2, there is no way that Goodpasture only scores 14! I hope everyone gets to the game safe, and dress warm. I am obviously rooting for Goodpasture, but whoever wins tonite, I will be rooting for them in the state finals. I hope everyone who has been talking smack all week is available for post game comments!
  7. The reason Goodpasture thinks they are the underdog is because they keep hearing how they are going to lose! See you Friday!
  8. Does Milan still run the I-formation on offense? And, the last time we played them, they were a senior heavy team. Is that the case this year?
  9. Goodpasture is very balanced. I think that is the difference with this team. In the past, the Cougars would have a dynamic back, with a below average passing game. This year they have a solid running game, with a very good passing game. It starts with #3. He can scramble and pass. He has two excellent wide receivers, #14 who is more of a possesion receiver, and #9 who is a fast deep threat. I totally disagree with you about #3 and his passing yards. Quite the opposite, There has been several games this year when Goodpasture could have run it up, but Coach Martin threw it into neutral and stopped passing. All of there high scoring games this year are when they put the second string in and they kept running the ball and scoring. Goodpasture does have more of a power game this year because of there offensive line. They are very big. There O-line probably averages about 270 to 273 across the line. Both of there offensive tackles are over 315. #54 (6'1" -315lbs) #72 (6'2" -265lbs) and #55 (6'6" - 325lbs) are tough in the trenches. They have a big, athletic tight end #15, and they have debth at fullback. It is hard to play Goodpasture because of that balance. They will run straight at you, then go over top in the passing game. And if eveyone is covered, you better have a spy back there watching #3 because he will take off and run. The two fastest players on there team are #22 and #9. The dont run alot of mis-direction with there speed guys, they just run it at you, then throw it over you. I wish they would get those two players involved more in mis-direction plays.
  10. The difference between this Goodpasture and teams of the past is that Goodpasture has a very good passing game. They do not have a star running back, but they have a very formidable running game. #35 and #22 are very good. There quarterback #3, and there two receivers, #9 and #14 are very good as well. Not to mention a line that is HUDGE. This team seems to have very good balance. I have watched them play for a while now, and it seems like Coach Martin is more willing to pass this year because of his talent in the passing game. I have not seen Milan play since our last playoff meeting. I know if Goodpasture plays team football, they will be hard to beat. Good luck to both teams.
  11. For every one person who you think feels like you do, I can show you 10 that feel the way I do! We all get it, you don't like Goodpasture. I have been watching Goodpasture for years, and they have represented themselves in a positive way. They are kids, and they will have there moments, but all in all, I am proud to be a Cougar fan and I am proud of the boys. Heck, there is one senior player who is an excellent player that Coach Martin benched for the rest of the year for displinary reasons. How many coach's would do that? We will just have to agree to disagree on this subject. Oh by the way, is there a football game Friday night?
  12. I dont think so! But, that's why I love high school football! See you at the game!
  13. Wow. No he did not. The kids from SC were talkin just as much as Goodpasture! Get over it! You lost! Move on! Have a great summer! I hope you have a better year next year! I have been watching Goodpasture play for over 5 years, and the only time they get chippy is when teams get chippy with them! The Goodpasture boys wont start a fight, but they wont back down from one either! I have the film! #2, #30, and #12 from SC were hitting late and getting into the Cougars face! We can do this all night long! Bottom line, it is tough when your season ends. I get that. It is very emotional. I get that too. The rough play started when the game was no longer in doubt! As soon as SC realized there season was over, they started taking shots at Goodpasture. Goodpasture took shots back, and behold, the refs caught Goodpasture when they pushed back! That is what happened, pure and simple. I can send you the game film if you like! Good luck to SC in the future. All I heard all week before the game was how SC was too fast, too physical, all of that. Well, the game was not close. Please let this game go, get better, and come back bigger, stronger, and faster next year!
  14. I did not mean that they all run the spread offense. What I meant was all three of those schools usually have very good athletes and have pleanty of speed. SC had speed but Goodpasture was able to beat them.
  15. We will see if Coach Martin's game plan works. Every year, Goodpasture plays big schools who have speed all over the field. This year they played CPA, White's Creek, and McGavock. All three of those teams play the same type of offense that Pearl Cohn does. Goodpasture is used to playing teams that have alot of team speed. Pearl Cohn is a very talented team, but so is Goodpasture. I like our chances to win. I will not predict a score, but I believe the cougars will win, but I do think it will be a close game!
