  1. CCHS 2-1 at Pigeon Forge tourney, play Carter in consolation championship tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how we handle this one.
  2. CCHS Jets run into a team of snipers in Landmark Chridtian of Atlanta, get beat 108-67. One of the best shooting teams that have ever seen.
  3. Oh, she is good! Jumps up and grabs the rim. Fun to watch her play.
  4. Good win! Is that the best win of the year?
  5. Good luck Warriors, keep the streak going. Cumberland County plays in Blue Ridge, GA this weekend - first up is Landmark Christian (KY) then the winner or loser of Hiwassee Dam (NC) & Fannin County (GA), the host school.
  6. Sounds like a good game, their bigs are tough. How is the kid with the hurt knee from our game last week doing? Merry Christmas to you and yours also. Our boys played good against the Cavs the other day. One of our starters was held out for 2.5 quarters because of the varsity game that night, but the other boys really stepped up which is a great thing. The Jets are headed to Blue Ridge Georgia for three days of ball; hopefully, we can find some wins down there.
  7. Alumn89, that was a good win for you guys. I like your team; Richmond hit some big three's and was a force along with the big kids in the paint. CCHS has some pieces, but we're struggling to put the puzzle together - we are better than our record - thank you for noting that.
  8. CCHS beat Cookeville 62-57 in boys Freshmen/Soph game tonight prior to varsity games.
  9. CCHS beat Cookeville 62-57 in boys Freshmen/Soph game tonight prior to varsity games.
  10. CCHS beat Warren Co. by 11 last night; a much different game than the first which was by 36. Warren Co. had a couple players not at the previous game, but they played very well and CCHS was not hitting like they did in the first meeting where I think they shot probably 70% for the game. CCHS got in a little foul trouble, hard to do with only 7 active players. Play Cookeville today before Varsity games at CCHS.
  11. I really think Crosland is the difference maker for Sparta. I haven't seen Henderson play but a few times. He's one those that I want to see score 30-40 a game and have a "get after" attitude on defense - he has so much talent and to me should be much more dominate than he currently is. I'm not trying to be critical of a kid; so I probably shouldn't say anything....... - I really want to see him do well at the HS and the next level - he got "once every ten/twenty year" talent. I just don't know about my Jets, losing too many close games. I think that we will hang in there with most everyone on our remaining schedule/district though. I think tonight is big measuring stick for us to see where we are in the Upper Cumberland - we have several fighting the flu bug right now - we may be missing a few tonight.
  12. The kid can shoot for sure; when he is in the "zone" - un-stoppable. PC is going to be a dangerous team for years to come - they can give anyone a game on a given night.
  13. Cookeville visits Cumberland County tonight, should be a good game.
  14. Elizabethton has a good team, the twins are very strong. I thought the CCHS press was disruptive for Elizabethton causing a lot of turnovers and multiple 10-sec calls. We did not adjust well to how the officials were calling the games in Johnson City; therefore, our best players were on the sidelines for almost half the game . Both teams were aggressive, but CCHS was called for 32 fouls compared to 14 by EHS and EHS hit their foul shots - I'm not blaming the officials for the loss, but we didn't adjust all weekend (girls or boys) to more sensitive foul calling in East Tennessee - we were not disciplined- as you say. Elizabethton is strong and will go far again in AA; I wouldn't like to have played EHS with our full squad and a more disciplined approach.
  15. CCHS play their worst game of the season, lose by 25ish at Science Hill. Too many turnovers and foul balance on SH side.
  16. Cumberland Co Lady Jets beat Science Hill HS at their place 68-63. Get big lead, but get in a little foul trouble - pull it out.
  17. I hate seeing those injuries. I don't know if you noticed our bench - it looks like a mash unit - we have three out for probably the rest of the season - knee, wrist, and ankle. Hey, you have any pull with White County State Troopers, one got my wife for speeding last night on the way home!
  18. Cumberland County headed to Johnson City tonight for two tough games at the Double Tree Holiday Classic. Tonight the Jets play Science Hill High School and tomorrow, Elizabethton High School. Hoping to represent 6AAA well.
  19. Alumn89, it was a good game. CCHS won by 12-14 points, we got a good early lead, but Sparta wouldn't go away and fought hard throughout. They were always within reach, it seemed. From my understanding, CCHS and Cookeville will play Freshmen games before the varsity games on Tuesday up here on the mountain. Look forward to that.
  20. Thanks 90Warrior. Sorry, I wasn't on here yesterday much. I hope the kid with the knee injury recovers quickly - I hated to see that. I thought it was a good game; we didn't play too well, but I think the Warrior defense had a lot to do with that. Your boys play hard and get after it - they seem like a good bunch of young men. Good luck the rest of the season.
  21. He played with their AAU/Travel team this past summer and performed well for them. I saw it on Facebook yesterday. I was looking for a link at the Crossville Chronicle, but it is not up yet - probably tomorrow.
  22. That is Russel; he just signed with Bryan College yesterday.
  23. Awesome win White County, the team to beat in 6AAA!
  24. They have 3-4 seniors with playing experience, but Spence is the best player. One of their post (Russel) has some ankle/ligament issues going on. They have some good young players who can get hot from the three and a good size Junior in Foster (6'5" ish) who has improved. I would think Cookeville would be favored and may win by that much. But, I wouldn't be shocked if Stone made a game of it if the 3-ball is dropping. Capps is an excellent coach; I would think they will improve and possibly surprise some teams before the year is over.
