  1. "GO Lady Canes" beat West!!!
  2. Tough loss for Lady Canes to Jeff Co but they competed well. Brutal week for the ladies this week as they are on the road for 3 games against Cherokee, Mo West, and Seymour. Not sure of the conference standings but I believe Jeff Co, Mo West, and Cherokee have 1 loss with Mo East and Seymour having 2 losses. Its a crap shoot every night in the IMAC. Still anyones conference to win, 3 or 4 losses might win it or at least a tie for first.
  3. Big game for my Lady Canes today against Jeff Co. If we can come out of there with a win things will be looking good for us in conference, but Jeff is a good team and its always been tough to beat them at home. It would be nice to get over the hump and get a win against them, something we havent done in a long time.
  4. My prediction on how the IMAC will finish the regular season: 1. Jefferson County 2. Morristown East 3. Cherokee 4. Morristown West 5. Seymour 6. Cocke County 7. Sevier County 8. South Doyle
  5. Morristown Easts record is not great but they have played a very tough schedule which I know will pay off in the long run. I think they are the deepest team in the IMAC and they are starting to play a little better as a team. Hensley and Berquist are starting to give Gilmore some help scoring inside and when they dont get in foul trouble are as good a group of BIGS in the conference. King and Hale can shoot the long ball as good as anyone around and will keep defenses honest. Wills has done a pretty good job of taking care of the ball and is getting better every game. Hayes is coming in and giving quality minutes at the PG position which will be huge down the stretch. Several other role players are starting to learn their roles on the team and contibuting nicely. The big thing is this team seems to have finally learned how important defense is and are doing better on the defensive end. If Coach Cloninger (and I believe she will) can keep them playing as a team and playing hard on defense they will be a hard out come tournament time. The one concern for Lady Cane fans is the free throw shooting so far, an area the ladies must in to go vary far. Tracy keeps doing a wonderful job with the girls and I know they love playing for her!
  6. Where is all of the great IMAC fans this year? Cherokee, Mo West, and Jeff Co. off to nice starts in conference play with Cocke Co., Mo East, and Seymour with something to say about how the conference will end up! Things seem to be wide open and all the fans are in hidng. Come on tell us who you think is looking good and whos not. Any surprises? Any predictions? Keep it fun!!
  7. Knoxville Thunder 93 is Tennessee ASA State Champs in 16U. They went 6-0 and beat Fury 94 in championship game by forfeit. Fury 94 threw in the towel (don't know why). I don't think they had anything for the Thunder anyways. Knoxville Thunder looks to be the best team in the state by winning the last two ASA tournaments in Tennessee. Congratulations to the players and coaches, job well done! Fury 94 did qualify for Nationals.
  8. I know they've had some rain delays but does anyone have any scores to post?
  9. Why is it that the same Chattanooga team(s) get the easy road in these qualifiers that are held in Chattanooga? No wonder they didn't play last weekend. With that kind of draw to the winners' bracket final, i wouldn't have played in Hendersonville either. I guess the first bracket that was sent out was too hard for a certain couple of teams, so lets put 5 of the top 7 teams in the tournament together in the first three rounds and that way three or four of them can fight through the losers' bracket all weekend. Couldn't have drawn it up any better if they'da tried. It can't be so certain teams can post all over their web site how many teams they had make Nationals....wink-wink!! :0
  10. Didn't get to see the game but it sounds like a classic. Would also like to congratulate both teams and wish them well in regions. Jefferson has been solid all year long and Seymour improved steadily all year long. Great job by both teams and coaching staffs.
  11. I don't know where you are from but I agree with you 100%, here in Morristown the Tribune will write stories about events that have already happened but rarely about upcoming events. As a sports fan some of the best reading in a newspaper is about events that are about to happen, reading about some of the NCAA tournament teams for instance before the tournament actually starts, who's hot and who's not. I think it would be really neat if they would write articles on these softball and baseball tournaments before they start and give out the schedule also. Morristown East beat Cocke County 10-6 after a sluggish start. Seymour beat South Doyle 9-2 and may be the hottest team entering the tourny. East will play Seymour monday in the second game. Cocke and South Doyle eliminated.
  12. Jeff County beat Sevier Co. 5-0. Surprisingly low run total for Jeff in this one. Mo. West beat Cherokee 6-4 in a come from behind thriller. Jeff will play West monday. Mo. East vs. Cocke and South Doyle vs. Seymour today. Sevier and Cherokee eliminated.
  13. You are correct on the seedings. East beat Cherokee 3-2 in 10 innings tonight by the way. Don't know about the rest of the games but East will play Cocke Co. Friday @ 5:30.
  14. All good teams, don't exactly agree with your order and would probably have to throw Gibbs and Science Hill in there somewhere.
  15. Anyone know any scores in Mo. West tournament?
  16. Does anyone know how the Big 8 conference tournament works? I know in the IMAC the first round is an elimination game and turns to double elimination after that. Should be fun down the stretch, there are some quality teams in Region 1-AAA.
  17. Morristown East/Cherokee game cancelled for today(4-27-10) and rescheduled for tomorrow(4-28-10) @4:30pm. It's Senior Night so everyone come out and show some love for Casey Horner-3B, Rachel Wilmoth-P, Hannah Blanken-OF, and Misa Saylor-1B.
  18. Welcome back Kendi, it's great to see you on the field again. We need your stick in the line-up (had 2 hits in return).
  19. Hats off to Jeff Co. girls they played great and hit the ball well. Three game lead is now back to one, hopefully we can take our frustrations out on the west side girls. Go Lady Canes!
  20. Lady Canes could gain a three game lead in IMAC today with a win over Lady Patriots. Can't believe Lady Patriots lost to Cherokee! What happened? Post season will be on us soon! Does anyone know how the district tournament format is going to be? With the conference now at eight teams I was just wondering.
  21. Where did everyone go? Haven't heard from Thunder, Statman, MTWfan, Moebuck,........etc. lately! Don't let our thread die! Would like to hear from some of our other IMAC fans from South Doyle, Jeff, Cocke Co., and Sevier Co. Lady Canes won two at the Eastman Tournament last night, 5-0 over Sullivan Central and 10-0 over Tennessee High. Off to a great start ladies keep it up!!
  22. Don't know any details but thats what I'm hearing.
  23. Good win for my Ladies over a very solid Jeff Co. team, now looking forward to seeing South Doyle for the first time (if rain holds off). Getting ready for Eastman tournament which is a nice tournament. Seeing some good things out of the girls but still too many errors due to lack of focus in my opinion, but very optimistic about the rest of the year. Go Ladies lets win a tournament this weekend!!
  24. Well my Lady Canes have a tough one on their hands tonight! Jefferson County has proven to be a quality softball team thus far, with a nice win over William Blount who finished second in the Soddy Daisy Invitational over the weekend. It should be a good one and its a great day for softball. Go Lady Canes!!
