  1. Thank you for finally answering the question. I agree with your answer concerning the MLB vs. the midline. The question was not unfair. It said if you were running a 4-3 what would the MLB do vs. the midline. It was simply asked to see about the extent of football knowledge RW had. When he danced around answering the question, I kept pressing. Off. and def. schemes do depend on your personel, but if you got good players, you better coach them like you would a bad player. Right??? Hope you all had a HAPPY THANKSGIVING. And take care.
  2. I don't understand as much as I think I do. No, I don't understand your answer, because you haven't answered the question. Nevermind. Here's another question. In your opion, what makes the 4-3 defense so easy to attack? How would you attack it? And, no I don't admit that most posters on these forums know very little real football. Most posters on this forum are just good fans and generate excitment for BIG RED football. So don't insult them by saying they are fools, stupid, or even ignorant about football. It is a Game. The best game. And fans, right or wrong with their opions, help make it the BEST game. So, once again... ANSWER THE ABOVE QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Commish I don't know exactly where Tampa 2 started. Unlike Retard Warrior, I don't mind saying I don't know something. I do agee with you on Chuck Noll being a heck of a coach.
  4. HEY Red Warrior...... ANSWER THE QUESTION about the MLB vs the midline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. First of all, if I knew that we had to stop the midline, I would NEVER run a 4-3 against it, unless we ran a pair of 2 techniques to take away their read. When we ran the midline we preferred not to see an odd front, so that tells me something when I think about trying to stop it. Coverage in high school should ALWAYS be dictated by your athletes. The important thing is what they do best, what they are most comfortable doing, and then what makes the most sense. You know about the MLB and his responsibilty against the midline. That question is insulting. I never felt comfortable in a Cover 2 versus trips. We were usually a MTM team, but also played some Cover 3 against it. Cover 2 can be utilized, but it's not my preference. Wait a minute. You mean to tell me and everyone else on this board that if you were a 4-3 team and had to face the midline that you would CHANGE your defense for that week? Is that what you are saying??? OK. And you are telling me you wouldn't run the midline vs. an odd front? Why not? I've seen it ran very successful vs. odd fronts. I can see how an even front would give you better angles and easier reads, but it can be good vs. an odd front as well. "That question is insulting" is an easy way to NOT ANSWER A QUESTION. The same thing you said to many people on this forum about the tougher schedule question. You said they wouldn't answer the question. Now you won't answer a question. I guess your trips coverage would depend on what passes you had to stop. I kinda understand that. If you or anybody else is wondering why I am busting your chops, the reason is simple. I defended some of your posts earlier, and said after 30 years of coaching you had earned the right to speak your mind. But, the comment about no one knowing as much football as you ticked me off. The comment made you sound more like an arrogant yankee instead of a southern high school football coach.
  6. I'll check back later for his response. I gotta finish up work. Happy Thanksgiving to EVERYONE.
  7. What's the matter RED WARRIOR, you having to Google Tampa 2 or do you not know what the midline is?
  8. Let's find out how much ball you know. Say we play a 4-3 defense. What should the MLB do when an offense runs the midline? After you answer that one, tell us what coverage you would run vs. a 3 x 1 formation. You know, trips open formation. 3 WR to one side and one WR to the other side. Cover 3, man, tampa 2, Reading cover 2 with the BS safety covering #3 vertical. Please share your thoughts.
  9. Playing a tougher schedule does make you a better team. However, It does not guarantee a win against anyone in the playoffs or on any other game night.
  10. I know the game is on TV, but will it be broadcast on the internet? If so, what's the web address? GO PATRIOTS!!!
  11. Enjoy the lake coach. After 30 years of coaching you have earned it. You have also earned the right to say what is on your mind. Keep posting. Go Patriots!!!
  12. Spring Game really cancelled? If so, WHY?
  13. I botched that quote thing. Not extremely computer literate. Swarm... Tell me about the Secondary.
  14. Actually, all the QB's that i've seen have looked pretty good. We should have some good depth there. And i'd like to correct something i stated in a previous post, where i said Khalil Kendley was the one who was impressing me. Well actually, that turned out to be Najee Ray. I think he'll probably be starting next year. Arm isn't quite what shonte's was, but certainly looks capable and very athletic. Matt Craig has also been impressive so far at QB. Offensive line has been surprisingly good so far, i don't have names, but they're big, and from what i've seen pretty athletic. They're making the Running Backs look dang good. Thanks Swarm.... Glad to find someone on here that wants to talk about football. Since i am unable to make it to practice, I appreciate the updates. QB, OL and DL sound good. What about the Secondary? Will they come up and hit ya vs. the run, and do they have the speed to cover the deep ball? Too early to make a solid evaluation, but i've been impressed with pretty much everything so far. The coaches seem to be on top of what they're doing, QB and both lines are looking pretty good, and looks like we have an excellent staple of 2 or 3 running backs. So far so good for the Patriots.
  15. For any of you that have been to spring practice, who has looked good at QB and how does the OL look?
  16. Warrior I agree with HCHSforlife, I don't think you are retired. I think you are one of the assistants that applied for the job. We get your point: you are unhappy about not getting an interview. Quit repeating it.
  17. Red Warrior and the Prophet need to quit whinning. Warrior you sound more like a retired soccer coach than retired fb coach.
  18. Red Warrior: Why did you quit coaching?
