  1. I apologize, you are right "whodathunkit". I didn't mean for that to come out that way. When I said "TSSAA was as sorry as Coffee Co. Football", I was meaning the school and coaches. NEVER did I, or would I, say that about a player. The boys are only doing the best they can, or instructed to do. Since the instruction isn't there... well, enough said.
  2. I agree 100% with germxx, it is VERY sad to see one of these two teams have a chance at the playoffs. How do you think the yeams of old feel when they played .500 and didn't make the playoffs? TSSAA is about as sorry as Coffee Co. football!
  3. Thank you that's the exact reply I was looking for. The point I'm trying to make is this. If, in real life we invest money, we want to invest in a venture that will make us money. Not invest into something without any gain or even loss. We are investing way to much money in a sport that gives nothing in return, but loss. I was so ashamed to see us pull up last Friday night looking like the Tenn Titans in our big charter busses and play like the pop warner chargers! Let's stop and think of where we are investing our money.
  4. Well, it's football time again here in Coffee Co. How do we know it's that time again? Here are a few indicators to help us out: -Radio centers around FOOTBALL! -Heaven forbid you have something break at a school, it won't get fixed, because maintence workers are at the field getting ready for Friday night FOOTBALL! -Disgusted looks on all atheletes faces that play other school sports because they wish they had 1/2 the money spent on their sport as we do on FOOTBALL! It would be different if we could have a winning season, much less win a conference game. I would even settle for a loss that didn't make us tuck our heads when we leave the $1,000,000 stadium. Lets face it, we haven't had many football players in the past. Yes their have been several standouts, but it takes more that one or two to make a good team. I feel, like alot of people I talked to Friday night, that it's time we get our priorities straight. There are many other CHS sports teams that do win games and even go far in district and region play. When is the last time football can say that? Anyway, hopefully the Red Raiders can pull it together and win a few, but I wouldn't bet on it, sorry.
  5. First of all, Kudos to Cookeville. They are a very good team that wanted it more than us last night. You all played hard and got the hits when you needed them. NOW, to address the STUPID comment above. Not going to address the comment about Davis being slow. Think he showed last night that he can heat it up when needed. Being able to throw heat every pitch does not make for a great pitcher. Being able to throw MANY different pitches makes for a great pitcher. Also being able to control the runners on base and not letting them get into his head. OH, and lets not forget the AWESOME pickoff move he executed several times for pickoffs! Now to the comment about your third baseman being the only one who can hit slow pitches. I'm glad he can hit slow pitching because he sure can't field a ground ball. See you tonight. Oh, by the way, what IS the going rate for a one sided umpire in Cookeville these days. Guess we will find out tonight, if it is anything like last year!!!!!!!!
  6. It depends on the situation. If a player gets hurt or is injured, most colleges understand, and will honor their agreement. However there have been times when a player signes and then gets the attitude of it dosen't matter I have already signed. In this case the college can withdraw the offer. I have heard of this happening a few times. If colleges would wait until the end of the season, this would never happen.
