Central Purple

The team is picked , it looks like only 4 seniors starting. We may be young but I still say we have a good team that can win half our games and get some much deserved respect for Coach Carter and our Pounders.

I did not say Central had players ready to start on a SEC team, I said they have a few prospects. Maybe like at Chatt. State or Hiwassee, I still belive that. Ronald Freeman (OF), Alex Ferney (OF), Johnny Key (3B) and Josh Farley (2B). Our record may not be the best this year because we will be weak on the mound, but that does not mean we wont have some good players that can play in college.

Shaun Ball is the Georgia transfer. Central has a few college prospects this year if they could get some recognition.

What are some unbiased predictions on the pounders this year ?

Central has a big weekend coming up , I think a win here will start it off right . Central by 7.

I started this thread wanting to know how Central would fair this year. I don't remember asking what Ooltewah would do to us if we played. Not one time did anyone bash Ooltewah until they started talking trash in here. I agree we should still play you. Good luck Owls,and remember we haven't dropped you from our baseball schedule.

The season is here and you still dont have a full schedule, looks like everyone dropped you. It reminds me of the stories about Central in the 60's where knowone would play them, except those teams ended those years with state titles.

The TEST comment wasn't from a Central fan, just someone that is probably tired of the Owls jumping on any thread on here like they are the top team in the world. The Owls hardest test is filling out those hardship papers to get their transfer.

The last time I checked all the runs count until the last out is recorded. it's not like you had your back-up players in the game. we left bases loaded once and several other runners on that could have won us the game. I know it is hard for you to accept that we gave the Ooltewah Dream Team a run for your money, but thats just what we did...GO POUNDERS !!!

I would like to point out that all those homers were not against central.

Ooltewah 11 - Central 9 . Not a bad loss for a bunch of HOME GROWN players playing againt 7 college signee's.

I had my doubts about our pitching, Then the first game Aaron Fredrick pitches a no hitter. I think we may be fine this year.

Walker Valley beat us 3-2 after the first inning, to bad they got 7 in the first to make it 10-2. We actually looked pretty good after we got started.

Central looked good in the games this weekend, we played the JV in the last 2 games Saturday. The varsity only played 1 or 2 innings in those 2 games. What do others that were their think of our chances this year ?

Central didn't look to bad at Walker Valley, looks like the pitching might be pretty good.

We will see monday at Walker Valley what we have.

5 graduated, not all were starters. The infield stays the same as last year, the outfield will have 4 juniors and 1 senior competing for positions. Pitching is what we lost most. Lafoe should step up and help us out there.

Central was down for a couple of years but it seems like they have turned the corner. The roster this year looks very strong.

Shaun is just a junior, Central could start 7 juniors and be a good team. Its amazing what a difference a good coach can make.
