  1. Sorry 10A but I saw two posts, the first was one of the nicer more cordial and fair posters on the 9A board which is coffeebreak. All he did was make an observation of the games that were played in that scrimmage and who was playing. No smack at all. The other was a poster saying that 9A was better this year than 10A. Take a look at the two 9A teams and their schedules and look at how many triple A, double A and top tier single A teams each played and their records. Both 9A teams beat a lot of those opponents, several of which have been in recent State tournaments. 10A's two teams from what I can tell by their schedules haven't played the same caliber of teams overall. I'm not saying both aren't very good teams either. There's no guarantees in baseball but don't take them lightly. They won't be looking past Monday either. No teams should.
  2. Show me a post where an Eagleville supporter has "talked smack" on here about their baseball team. "Smack is bragging and running your mouth about what you're gonna do", I don't think I've seen that on here. Nothings happened to Eagleville. A very good Cascade team put them in the loser's bracket when they faced Austin Peay signee Carkuff and they made 3 errors which cost them, then they had to win 4 straight a couple of which are very good teams and then beat Cascade to force a second game for the championship. Cascade and Eagleville are very evenly matched. Both teams have made it to the regionals each of the past 4 years and one or the other to Substate and State each of those years. Both are loaded with seniors. I'm sure they will both be very competitive with the 10A teams in Regionals.
  3. Cascade beat Eagleville for the championship.
  4. Well, hard to say WH Heritage is 19-9 but who knows if all their games are listed on coach T, I know that Cascade beat them and I know that in a pre-season scrimmage their varsity beat our younger players 4-3 and that was with Eagleville playing no starters. I don't know the caliber of the teams they've played other than Cascade. I have heard tonight that Nashville Christian (NCS) beat Clarksville Academy (CA) tonight but this isn't confirmed, if so they would play Heritage for the title. NCS is a .500 team and would look to be down this year. CA on the other hand if they advanced is around 20-10, again I don't know the caliber of teams they've played. Cascade won the district tourney and will host whichever loses Monday night. Eagleville will be on the road Monday to play whoever wins their district tourney. Both Eagleville and Cascade have played very tough schedules and both are loaded with seniors and good, fairly deep pitching.
  5. District 9A (Eagleville, Cascade) will play District 10A which is the other half of our Region (Region 5). You can go to the Scoreboard tab on Coach T and check the scores from all district games across the state. It appears that Clarksville Academy and White House Heritage are playing for their district championship. You'll have to wait and see who wins our district tomorrow as well as District 10A, loser travels to winner and vise versa. After our game check the scoreboard tomorrow and you'll have your answer.
  6. 1st round of Regionals is May 14th. 1st place will host, 2nd will travel. This will be an elimination game. If you win you get an automatic bid to host or travel for a sectional game, lose and you go home, if you win and also win regional title you will host a sectional game. Win that and you're in State. One game at a time has to be the focus. Eagleville may pitch as many as 4 pitchers tomorrow. They have 3 seniors that haven't thrown yet in district tournament and all have done well when they've pitched this year. The highest ERA on the pitching staff is a .269. Not bad at all. I would think Cascade would go with Carkuff, he'll have had 5 days rest.
  7. Most likely matchup is Smith and Bateman although Eagleville could go with McDougal or Morton. Cascade pitched Elmore last night and will have Carkuff and Rippy both fresh. My guess is they would go with Rippy against whoever advances and have Carkuff in reserve if a second game was needed on Wednesday. Moore Co. has a couple more pitchers and Eaglevill has 3 other solid senior pitchers that they can call on if needed as well. Right now the focus is one game at a time so for both Moore and Eagleville I believe they'll pitch their best.
  8. They actually changed that about 3 years ago. I think it's State wide for single A but it could be a district coaches decision but currently the two teams that make it to the district championship will go on to regional. The district tournament winner will host the number 2 team from other half of the region and that district's winner will host the number 2 of our district tourny. Lots of nail biting going on right now.
  9. Our ump behind the plate who I know but won't name was pretty bad. That being said Eagleville beat themselves with 5 errors. Most they've had in one game all year.
  10. I do want to add one thing to this. I was messaging Kreager at DNJ about the Smith/Carkuff matchup tonight and he has no one for that premier matchup because they are covering the huge (cough, choke) Lavergne/siegel and Blackman/Smyrna baseball/softball matchups tonight. We get far superior coverage from the Shelbyville Gazette. DNJ can't even spell correctly and usually runs all the MTCS and Eagleville stats together.
  11. Just sitting kicked back right now. I think both games tonight will be close. O agree with your opinion on the losers bracket. Not to fair. I just hope the umps are good. How were they last night.
  12. Must be close to post season, people are getting ultra sensitive aren't they. Hope they both get there, nothings certain.
  13. 1st seed will receive a 1st round bye and will host the tournament following that round I believe.
  14. How does that work with a private school? If a student transfers to play ball at a private are they eligible right away or do they have to forfiet the majority of their season as the transfers to Eagleville did to become eligible? It's a rare occurance in public schools because if they're considered varsity on the former team they have to sit a full year from last game played at varsity level. Generally don't the boys that attend a private school tend to do so their freshman year which means there's no transfer restrictions. Don't really want to get into all the private can recruit mess on this either. I can tell you that the boys that transferred to E'ville were willing to sit out their junior year to become eligible at the end of it, which says a lot and did so because of the atmosphere at their former school and that's all I'm going to say on that. Also really don't want to hear that's the only reason E'ville made it to State as they were there the year before as well with Sophomores and 2 seniors and no transfers. In addition two of those 3 transfers didn't see the field until regional final last year.
  15. Haven't heard anything, did they get a suspension of some sort? They've posted a good record and were in it last year is all I know.
  16. 1): Grace Christian 2): Boyd Buchannan 3): FC 4): Eagleville 5): Tough one could be Cascade, Wayne Co. or dark horse Mt. Pleasant (Ring is one of the best pitchers in the state and could win the sectional game almost by himself. Wayne Co. has played well and Cascade has Carkuff and Rippy 6: Riverside 7: Adamsville or Huntingdon that'll be a hard fought battle out west.
  17. Didn't FC play both South Pitt and Boyd Buchannan? Which was better, South Pitt is pretty young overall this year. Wayne Co. is pretty good too.
  18. They seem to be getting back on track now a bit with 5 straight wins, obviously you can't replace the void they are dealing with emotionally or on the field.
  19. Very true, so technically FC would've beaten E'ville 3-0 if all the unearned runs were taken out.
  20. Volz, thanks I'm really not trying to brag, just talking ball and on the K's that wasn't toward you, I was just noting it was said by another poster. I agree, lot of ball to be played, lot of hurdles to be cleared. It's not easy to get to the dance. 2 years back Summertown was knocked out by NCS after winning State the year prior. You hope for the seniors especially that you can get back to the State and if you play well have a shot for the Gold. Good luck as well.
  21. Absolutely and I said that in my first post on this topic. Eagleville didn't play their best either and until today didn't over their last 3 or 4 games. Could be a bit tired or lost focus a bit. Hope they start clicking again for the stretch run.
  22. Smack talk, you're the one bragging here. Unless someone's being an a** on here with derogatory comments, I try to make valid points and I don't brag how great we are. If you read the majority of my posts you won't see me saying we'll do this or that but I will talk about us being competitive and having good players and I don't get on here putting other teams players down or talking out of my a** about what another team has or hasn't when I haven't seen them play more than one game. I haven't made excuses, I've given credit to FC that they beat Eagleville but the game in reality was very close. The only point I've tried to make is that both these teams are good and IF they meet again it should be a close game. If I threw something back at you or one of the other poster's on here it was because a comment was made that was ridiculous or done without any basis. That's not smack. Neither I or Community talked FC down we responded to posts made by a couple of FC fans that made idiotic statements about players they haven't seen and one of which said we had 14 strikeouts in our game with FC, THAT WAS STUPID. Good luck to y'all hope we see y'all in the Boro as well.
  23. Then start a triple A post and talk about the Mighty Admirals to your hearts desire...da-huh!
  24. That's simple illini....ehhh screw it, I have no ideal what he's talking about either.
