  1. After watching CA play Jo Byrns and Collinwood, I'll offer this prediction: JB 35 CW 13 Jo Byrns is not going to have any problem moving and scoring on Collinwood's defense. Collinwood's quick backs will break loose on a couple of long runs, but they won't be able to move it consistently. Collinwood fans treated us well last night - wish we could have put up a little more fight on the football field. www.clarksvilleacademyfootball.com
  2. But Collinwood doesn't, and that's who you presume will be playing Jo Byrns in round number two.
  3. Have you already bought your second round tickets, Mr. Modesty? Perhaps a look in the mirror might be in order.
  4. Moto, Can you shoot me an email? Clarksvilleacademyfootball@gmail.com. Great talking to you tonight. Congrats on the win.
  5. Congrats to Jo Byrns - y'all played a complete game, and took us out of ours. I thought we would have to play extremely well tonight to beat JB, but thought it would be close. Nice to meet you Shep! Thanks for stopping by the press box tonight. Good luck to JB the rest of the way.
  6. Thanks Moto and Shep. You can get there by typing www.clarksvilleacademyfootball.com
  7. It's not muddy at all now...just dusty! A few months ago, it was under 20 feet of water, but that receded, thankfully. Unfortunately, it has hardly rained since then, so the area around the field is dusty. You know what happens if you mix water with that...... It was all pretty new in 07 and the grass had not yet come in very good. The grass is more established now, but the drought pretty much wiped it out. The field is irrigated, of course, so it's fine. The home and visitor locker rooms are in the same building, a few yards from the field. Not sure if your team dressed there in 07 or not, but the facility is more than adequate. The Cougars are playing well right now, and playing with confidence. We'll find out Friday if they are playing well enough to beat the Devils. Should be a great atmosphere - we're looking forward to it! Clarksville Academy Football Website
  8. Clarksville Academy's quarterback Josh Jerles has been named Jeff Fisher's Player of the week. Jerles threw 5 touchdown passes, and accumulated over 300 yards in a win over Houston County Friday night. CA has won 4 straight since Jerles returned from early season injuries. Congratulations Josh! www.clarksvilleacademyfootball.com
  9. CA's line opened huge holes and the backs were virtually untouched all night. ER scored in the first quarter to pull within 8 at 15-6, and showed a little fire for a few minutes. But then, the fire went out, and CA pretty dominated the remainder of the game. There's a writeup and stats at www.clarksvilleacademyfootball.com What are the gurus predicting for the district from here on in? JB-NCS, JB-CA?
  10. When I look at teams schedules, some of the teams have a ranking, as if it is a top 20 poll. However, I can't find that the ranking corresponds to the standings, or other power rankings that coach t has. Where does this ranking come from?
  11. Morgan Burman was named player of the week by The Leaf-chronicle for his performance. Details at clarksvilleacademyfootball.com
  12. Hey Moto, shoot me an email at clarksvilleacademyfootball@gmail.com and I'll help you with the CA logo. I linked to your site on ours as well. www.clarksvilleacademyfootball.com
  13. Forrest was MUCH bigger than CA, but CA played well on defense. CA turned the ball over 5 times - 4 fumbles and an interception. CA moved the ball in big chunks. They were certainly in a position to win the game, but kept shooting themselves in the foot. Forrest may be a bit young this year - not sure - but CA looked much improved to me. Much to the chagrin of Reddevilfever.
