  8. Well it's finally Friday and it's been fairly quiet. I know everyone is ready for what now will be dubbed "The Taco Bowl" Taco's old flame (Indy) against his new mistress (Centennial) I will try my very best to give updates on the score when possible. "Stay thirsty my friends"
  9. This thread is too quiet for it to be Tuesday of game week. Come on CHS fans! Get over the FHS loss and start talking.
  10. Let's move on with the season. (0-2) Centennial at (1-2)Antioch Antioch has a win over Hillwood which doesn't say much but a win's a win. How much pressure is on the Cougars? This a must win against a pretty bad team. Centennial is expected to w in and should be highly favored. How much pressure will be on Rector if he begins the season 0-3? I don't think they'll have to worry about that. Prediction: Centennial 28 Antioch 7
  11. Wow! You were just about spot on. I didn't see the game, but Indy's defense must be for real. (It also helps that the district is down too.)You would have to think now that Indy would be favored in all the rest of the district games except for Franklin. That should be a heck of a game there with a great offense against a great defense. Something will have to give. Congrats to Indy on a big district win.
  12. Very cool! I miss the old radio show with Leonard. Football season isn't quite the same without him.
  13. Not trying to get too far off topic but I would NEVER play a private school if I were a public one. Why flaunt your talent out in front of the private school? That's begging them to recruit your best players, and I definitely wouldn't play a private school so close in proximity. Then you really do have to deal with kids jumping ship because it would be such an easy transition from a home that is already close to the private school. That's just my opinion.
  14. FHS will pass and run the ball well. Their passing game opens up the run. Overton's passing game killed the Cougs so Franklin will do even more damage. Against Hendersonville all the passing opened up runs like the counter and so forth for the Rebs. The Cougs will not stop the counter or anything off tackle for that matter. It's going to be 15 straight I'm afraid.
  15. You can schedule whoever you like for your non-district games. Maybe Centennial should schedule wiser in the future. When it boils down to it for wildcard purposes all that matters is wins. Centennial is not doing themselves any favors by playing "6A" schools. Some say it better prepares them for the playoffs but they will never make the playoffs if they continue to play competitive "6A" schools. Keep in mind Centennial has to play enough "6A" schools as it is with their district schedule. Don't carry any extra burden on yourself. That's why Alabama plays Kent State and Tennessee takes on Montana. Also don't brag about your "6A" schedule as far as this year is concerned. It's pathetic. Most of those teams are equivalent to "5A" anyways.
  16. I agree that Centennial will improve for week 2 AND will play tough because they're playing their rival. The only part that goes against this logic is Franklin got better from week 1 to week 2 also and will be even better for week 3! Good luck to both!
  17. funny but sounds like something Taco would say :
  18. "Cleaning Cougar Custodians" is hilarious! Be easy on the Cougs. Taco says they can turn it around.
  19. I do have a clue since I've seen Centennial for several years now. Discipline is great and I agree you have to have it. Until you cash in with wins no one gives a crap how disciplined they are. That's just the world we live in. Does this game determine the season? Heck no but it's going to be tough sledding being 0-2. Luckily they play Antioch before they catch Indy. I saw Indy's defense against Blackman. Their D is for real if everyone stays healthy. The phantom call just sounds like an excuse plain and simple. Suck it up and play ball. Every game has ups and downs. It won't be a huge upset? Franklin destroyed a Hendersonville defense that would run circles around the Cougs. Centennial must play their best game ever with Franklin having several miscues on offense, defense, and special teams. Add in some turnovers and who knows? I just don't see a Clayton coached team letting all of that happen. I hope it's a close game that's fun to watch but I think I'll check out the Smyrna at Riverdale game instead. Good luck to the Cougs and Rebs on an injury free contest.
  20. Looked better? Seriously? These kids are playing the same way they did last season. Coaching hasn't made any effect whatsoever. These kids just aren't ball players. After watching the highlights if #6 goes down, the Cougs are in trouble. The offensive line is bad, really bad. The secondary was pathetic. Results may improve once Franklin is out of the way and they can play someone on their level. If Franklin some how loses in the biggest upset EVER next week, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong. It's going to be a long night next Friday.
  21. Here is what the Cougs have the rest of the way Franklin away Antioch away Independence home Wilson Central away Brentwood home Cane Ridge away Ravenwood away Shelbyville home Hillsboro home This is a VERY WEAK schedule excluding Franklin and Brentwood. I say the Cougs beat Antioch and Cane Ridge. They lose to Franklin, Independence, and Brentwood. Wilson Central, Ravenwood, Shelbyville, and Hillsboro could go either way.
  22. Cougs tack on one late. FINAL Overton 35 Centennial 21 Powercat and MyKidsDad be easy on Taco. He may be bent over the fence throwing up sick after this one. How many points do the Rebels hang on the Cougs next week?
  23. Underestimated Overton They lead over the Cougars 35 to 14 with a minute to go in the game.
  24. Bobcats answer right back! Overton 28 Centennial 14
  25. Overton 21 Centennial 14 7 minutes remain in the game
