  1. You're comparing Nate's Senior highlights to Tee's Sophomore highlights. What exactly are we supposed to take from this?
  2. Hillsboro lost to a 6-6 6A team, as well as to 6A Oakland. But please continue claiming 5A's superiority over 6A.....it's quite comical
  3. Did you really just say that 5A was tougher than 6A this year??
  4. WHEW......let me help you out for a minute: may·be ˈmÄbÄ“/ adverb 1. perhaps; possibly
  5. My apologies. A couple of "privates" hijacked the thread. I just had to defend Maryville and the public schools for a bit ; )
  6. It's not rare for Maryville to "lose" a scrimmage, and then go undefeated (while beating the team in a real game that "beat" them in practice) and win another gold ball. Oh and congrats on Ensworth beating CPA. Ensworth also lost to a 2A team this year
  7. Maybe so. But year in and year out, Maryville would win their fair share of them. Most years, BA only wins 8-9 games
  8. You are beyond naive if you think that Maryville only has good coaching
  9. In a SCRIMMAGE......just like Maryville did to Ensworth this year
  10. Other than Maryville, no one would be top 5 every year. I'm not saying Maryville would be #1 every year, but they'd be top 5. Think about this for a second: If GQ doesn't win 15 games every year, his career winning percentage drops. He has a 94.4% winning percentage, and if he goes 14-1, his percentage for that year is only 93.3%.
  11. You could combine all teams in TN into 1 classification, and Maryville would be a top 5 team EVERY YEAR. The same could not be said for MBA, BA, Ensworth, Baylor, etc
  12. Oh ok. So you're conceding that Maryville would beat a top 5 D2 team, but not a top 3 team. Do tell.......who exactly are the top 3 teams?
  13. Y'all need to get on the same page. I thought the mighty D2 schools only had "off years" due to their grueling region. Now you're telling me that graduation actually factors in to off years??
  14. Blackman beat McCallie this year, and Maryville humiliated Blackman. So there's that
  15. Wait......which year are you talking about? Last I heard Maryville recently murdered Ensworth
  16. Their region may not be tough, but every year they play Alcoa (would beat most teams in the state most years), and various other state championship-caliber teams.....Knox West, Knox Webb, Fulton, Sevier Co, etc. And they still have to go through the 6A playoffs. It's about as tough of a schedule as you'll find for a PUBLIC school. This year so far, they've played Alcoa, Fulton, Blackman, Oakland, Science Hill, etc
  17. So how do you propose that Maryville switch leagues? You know, to prove that they are an elite team. Cause after all, everyone knows that year in and year out, 6A is weak. Maryville, Oakland, Blackman, Whitehaven, etc would not stand a chance against all of those D2 powerhouses
  18. Heard the same thing last year. BA beat 6A Science Hill 45-42 last season. Maryville met Science Hill in the 6A quarterfinals last season and won 45-0. To assume that Maryville would cruise through the D2 region and go undefeated without breaking a sweat is foolish. But to believe that Maryville would lose to multiple D2 teams by multiple scores is even more foolish
  19. Hey champ. I have no dog in this fight, but please show an example where Sevier County fans were saying this was going to be easy, or saying anything at all for that matter. I'm pretty sure you're the only one talking trash. If someone were to look at your team's situation objectively, they would realize that after Bunch/Johnson graduate, Independence will quickly fade back to dwelling amidst mediocrity.
  20. I agree. I would have loved to see this game played when Fulton had Hawkins, Rollins, Smith, etc. Fulton would have given Maryville all they wanted for sure. But now, Maryville is arguably better than they were, and Fulton is definitely worse than they were. Maryville should win convincingly.
  21. Fulton went 5-0 in the postseason, including the championship game. They've won 3 gold balls in a row. They would throttle Ooltewah. If Fulton is garbage as you imply, what does that make the mighty owls?
  22. You lost to Rhea County by 5 touchdowns.... FIVE!! Your team, my friend, is a cupcake team
  23. Everyone's (even non-Trezevant fans) been saying how Trezevant had one of the best defenses in the state. Did you really expect Fulton to hang 80 on them in the championship game? Besides, Fulton scored a TON of points on defense and special teams this year.
  24. Once again, I don't consider a central time zone team like Marion County to be an East TN team. But congrats on beating the 1A team from Coalfield. Really impressive showing. And yes, I watched Fulton out-perform Trezevant. I have never in my life witnessed a team fumble 10 times in one game.....until now. That was pitiful. They deserved to lose to the nationally-ranked Falcons (by the way, east TN fans aren't responsible for their national ranking.....national experts ranked them). Hmmmm, do you honestly think that Memphis teams are the only ones that choose to play up?? Lastly, I keep hearing about all these powerhouse Memphis teams. But I never see them lift a gold ball. The only thing that you have to brag about over the east is a team that's 2 hours away from Memphis winning a gold ball for you in 1A football. Congrats
