  1. What a game! Hats off to both teams. Brown is an absolute stud. These last two weeks are going to be huge.
  2. Hickman does deserve more credit than they get. It doesn't matter how they got there, they are 6-1. If Waverly loses tomorrow, then they are in the driver's seat for 2nd place with a win over Fairview. Tomorrow is a huge night in the district.
  3. They have an extremely large senior class, a really good junior RB, a huge line, a qb who limits mistakes, and despite what some say, a pretty good coach. You take all that and add a couple of teams losing key players and rebuilding this year, and you have a team that is tough to beat. If you're good in the trenches, then you will be in every game. Camden always seems to have big linemen and good linebackers.
  4. It is also possible enough teams move up that is pushes Camden down to 2A, I believe. So you could end of missing Alcoa and moving down a class. Agreed on your last sentence.
  5. I don't know if it will happen, but I have seen speculation Alcoa will request to move up to 3A. I think it all has to be decided by October 22 so we should know soon.
  6. I'm only using stats to show that Lewis County did not dominate defensively like a poster suggested. I have said multiple times Lewis deserved to win and made the plays when it mattered most. I thought Lewis County did a great job of getting to the outside with 2-3 blockers to lead the way most of the night.
  7. You're correct. Waverly will have to show they can do it before people believe, and that is how it should be.
  8. Not exactly. #5 ran for over 100 yards against you, dragging kids into the end zone multiple times. #28 had over 200 yards on your mighty defense. You guys won, but you gave up 41 points. You do realize that isn't exactly dominating which is the picture you continue to paint. Had you "released your ends and LB's" #5 would have run for about 250 as they could not have kept up in the 2nd half, that is the whole reason Sharp didn't let them go, to avoid screen and big runs by the qb. You keep saying Waverly was rattled as well, other than a cramp the game was never stopped for a Waverly injury. It was stopped multiple times for cramps and injuries for Lewis County, does that mean you were rattled too? No, not at all. Like I said on Friday night, congrats on the win. Lewis deserved it, but you gave up 400+ yards to a "scared of contact" Waverly team. You didn't dominate anybody on the defensive side of the ball, offense was a different story.
  9. I don't doubt they list him at that, I just know a lot of the combines tend to inflate numbers a little. Like I said though, he is a really good back, and he has another year after this to get even better so by the time he is done he may very well run a 4.5. They listed Jalen Hurd at 4.37 at a combine last year, and I don't think he runs that. It doesn't seem to be effecting him though lol.
  10. Don't get me wrong, I think they are the best team in the district. I just don't think he runs a 4.45. You don't have to run that to be a stud though. If Waverly doesn't bring it on defense it will be a long night trying to stop him. I can't wait to see how it goes.
  11. Brown is a heck of back, but he isn't a 4.45 kid. That would have been top 25-30 in the NFL combine this year. There won't be a kid on the field Friday that runs a 4.45.
  12. Nope. They sat back and protected against the screen and qb runs. Other than the end of the game it took 4-5 seconds to get there. Lewis played well and deserved the win. Hopefully the kid who left in the ambulance for LC is ok.
  13. Look, he may go a little over the top at times posting, but anyone who knows the young man knows he isn't afraid to show his pride in Waverly athletics. Waverly could go 0-10, ten years in a row, and he would still be pumped for every game. Waverly may lose tonight, who knows? They haven't beat Lewis County in 20 something years. If it rains all day, then this game will be much tougher for the Tigers. It will eliminate some of the speed and elusiveness the Tigers have more of and allow Lewis County to use their size and strength. I really don't expect Waverly to get into the 40's this game. I think this will be a tough game personally. Hopefully no ones suffered any injuries, and everyone around the district enjoys a fun night of football.
  14. I think the weather could be a factor in this one. Last check showed a 60-80 percent chance of rain all day Friday in Hohenwald.
  15. I highly doubt that. With HUDL it is not hard to get film.
  16. It will be interesting to see if the Waverly QB's little brother decides to play next year. He is a freshman this year, and I think will end up playing a role on the bball team from the start.
  17. It sounds like you're talking about Greg McCloud. He went to Ensworth after 8th grade. He is about 6'3-6'4 and weighs around 280-300 pounds I would guess. I maybe underestimating his weight.
  18. The visitor seating at Waverly is an embarrassment. I know it has to stink sitting over there.
  19. Goodness. Anything that was accomplished before the start of this season means absolutely nothing now. The past is not going to determine who wins any of these match-ups this week or the rest of the year, and that is all I really care about. I'm sure that is all the current players at each school really care about, too. It looks like we need 7:30 tomorrow to get here in a hurry so everyone will have an actual game to focus on.
  20. MC has a pretty solid defense I believe. I could see a 28-20 type game.
  21. I think the biggest factor in this game is which Camden team shows up. If Camden comes out focused and doesn't make a lot of mistakes, then they will be really tough to beat. I know, kinda stating the obvious.
  22. Creekwood 35 Fairview 28 F/OT Hickman County 14 Montgomery Central 13 Camden 17 East Hickman 7 Waverly 53 Stewart County 14 Looks like there were some exciting games tonight!
