According to a person called Ambassador who is a moderator that Marion County has a rock Star coach and he says he has the warriors rolling and the people from Jasper should win on the Marion County site. A rock star coach. Well there must be some no named coaches in the valley and in Chattanooga. So the Pounders are playing against a rock star coach. So they gives them an advantage. Hmmm?: By the way I have not said anything but I think the Pounders will win at home. Rock star coach or not. By the way Ambassador, what is a "Rock Star Coach". So u heard that Forgey was lost for season. So what did his doctor's appointment show today? We may have 2 of our lineman back this week and maybe one or 2 0f our running backs back. So we are not that down . By the way this is shaping up just like last year. Our D will play tough and the offense will surprise with a few changes that are happening. Congratulations to East Ridge. They won 3-0. hard fought game. To many mistakes, six turnovers . The D stayed on the field way to long. Again Congratulation to East Ridge.

Some things are better not mentioned on this board. He has however been cleared by the doctor's. Funk is a good kid and expect him to play soon. He may dress tonight. Two more days and the game takes place. East Ridge is wanting to get back on the winning way. The Pounders are wanting to continue winning and go 1-0 in the district as is ER.. The East Ridge team was vote preseason number one and there coach said he agreed with there decision to be voted number one because of their qb and players returning. The Pounders were voted next to last. ER is a dangerous team and there qb is said by their coach to be the best all around qb in their district. Both teams are hungry. Some say East Ridge has played a tougher schedule and that we have played a cream puff schedule. Also the ER coach says that they know how to win because they did it last year. We also play at there place. So who wins will be decided on the field. Both teams should be sky high and would imagine wanting a win. Pounders have a shot to win this. Got to improve and not give up many big plays. ER qb is dangerous. Both teams will be playing with some beat up people because of their schedules. Look for a good game from both with the Pounders winning if they play with the same passion that they have. I hope the Bean can get his carry in close to the goal. It is going to be hard to stop a 5' 10 " , 280 lb running back down close. All that needs to be said is GO POUNDERS. By the way have not heard either way if Funk will dress or not.

Game 2. Both teams needing a win for respect. Polk County needing win because they lost and Central needing one to show that they are improving each game. Both teams are young and eager. Polk will be fundamentally sound and very hungry and will not be as bad as some say they will be. Each team will make mistakes . One will pound the ball and the other will rely on its defense and breaks as last week. Game should be exciting and low scoring . Polk scares me because of Coach Davis and what he can get his kids to do. They are always prepared and ready to play. Also we are at their place. Probably the last time we will play them according to how the district shapes up. Going to be a good game and each team wanting the win. My opinion the Pounders win at Polk County. It will be a tough physical game. Crowd needs to be there early for the kids and let them know we are there for them. This team wants to win and are eager to play every game. Game 2. Time to get excited. Go Pounders. Maybe Butter Bean will run the ball down close this week. It is hard to stop a 250lb running back down close. I think we show him against Polk County. I really like the stadium at Polk County and they have some great fans. Polk's coaches and facilities are great. Enjoyed your hospitality the last time up there. As Coach Major's once said" A win is a win is a Win". It beats a loss. It is easier to do corrections after a win than a loss. Oh by the way Some were picking FC to win. Kids are now learning how to win. Never new how before. When players by in then good things begin to happen. Sure offense struggled but moved well in first qtr, struggled in between and the forth qtr moved it when they had to. Picked up critical first downs in fourth qtr and showed some fire in them. Remember this FC was returning most of its offense line. So they were no slouch and they scrimmaged Giles Co pretty tough at Giles County. They passed the ball more than they had shown previously even against Giles County. Why because they were being stopped. They were a big team. It is better to teach things after a win than a loss. This team will improve game by game. Remember we are young and learning and the kids bought in this Friday night . Why, because they did not quit. They want to win. Fans were great , players were great , and the coaches coached and the Pounders are winners. It is always better to win then have a loss. On to Polk County . Tough game . Go Pounders. Big Win.

OK which one let out the secret about Butterbean running the ball. That was going to be a surprise. Especially down close to the goal line when we go into to our power formation. Man who ever let that out you just let everyone else know about it. We were going to use that as a surprise. Sometimes everything u may know does not to be told on this board, but now they know.

Pounders are creating excitement on the hill. Need a big crowd Friday. There is a class reunion going on that Saturday. It is the 54 or 55 class. Hope they show for game. Got to keep working . O line needs to keep improving. Most of O line will be back for the game, however, I would be worried because the other guys that started did well. Funk should be dressed. D needs to keep playing well and watch for the little counter and reverse from the wing T. Kids and fans should be excited. Got to build on this game and go from there. Everyone needs to sow up Friday for the kids and let them know we are thee for them. Even our closet fans can come on out and be an active part of the Pounder Nation. Purple Pounder Pride. Didn't Franklin Co, finish last in their district last year? Franklin Co use to play each other in a bowl game in Tullahoma each year called the Civic Bowl. It was a lot of fun and go to that bowl game. I think everyone is glad it is football season. It has been a long off season for the Pounders. Now it is time to go watch the kids play and see all the work that has been done by the players, coaches, parents, boosters, school, alumni, and mostly all of the kids that participate for this activity to happen. Stan Allen did no want to stay. He was waiting to leave before the season and was telling others this was it for him Now at least we have people who want to be here. I will give coach Allen credit for facility upgrades and help raising money. These coaches now have not went on vacation and they have worked since they have been here. They were even at the school even at the dead period working on football related matters. Ask a player you constantly talk about what he thinks about this staff and the last staff. You may be surprised. Also give Connie Hay Credit for a lot of money being raised last year. I would say he played a heavy hand in a lot of donations for uniforms and weights.

OK here goes. Tariq went to Coach M and apologized yesterday morning. They talked. Now Tariq was no angel in this story. Enough about this event that happened and it is over. Now these coaches are not cursing every breadth at these kids. They are not continually singling any kid out. Yes I have heard them jump on kids . Also. You know football is a violent game and skills and techniques are taught to help these young men to succeed. Sometimes they listen and sometimes they do not. Sometimes things need to be said to get there attention . Sure some kids may respond to a pat on the back and others may need a wake up call. Hey these coaches have worked harder and more diligently than what has happened with the other regime that was there. They are young players and coaches and this should be an exciting year for football. May not translate into a lot of wins but should be exciting. These kids want to win and they all are working hard. First game is August 22, 2014. Should be exciting. Can't wait.

They are just beat up right now. Most should b back by first game not jamboree. Smart move. First game is important.

I will repeat what I said that this line will be young. Yes they did beat a Soddy team that was not the best also but they had a big line. Also remember there was only one senior that played on that line Friday and it was Guidry but he did not play there all the time. Also I will repeat what I said that this line will be more fundamentally and technique wise taught than our previously 2 lines. These are young kids. They are enthusiastic and want to play and win. They did move the line from Daisy and were able to run pretty consistent. Which is good. However because of their youth I can see some growing pains but they still have a shot to do well in their district and actually maybe win a home game which we haven't in 2 years. These kids want it. By the way nobody from the defensive line played on the offensive line this scrimmage. Both lines did good jobs.

Sure this line is smaller than EH line however this line will be more fundamentally and technique sound than any line we had there in the last 2 years. However it is hard to break bad habits in this short of time, but they have worked hard to overcome and be fundamentally sound. They moved a much bigger Soddy line. They may not power them but they can technique them and maybe surprise us. Will see. We will do well in our district and may even surprise some other people. These kids want to win and do work. Oh yes the lineman with the concussions should be back this week. Good kid and works hard.

CAT, his name I think is Swafford. He had 4 catches for 65 yards. Total for first half was 112 yards passing and 94 yards rushing for the varsity. Pretty good for the first scrimmage. Now they have to build on that and stay healthy for the first game.

Chattacane, DougVick, and even the bread man, Biscuit, what is the latest about you guys losing about 4 players that have moved to Ringgold High School. Tre had 3 catches for 41 yards in the scrimmage. Looked good and is a big lanky target. Will be a go to receiver.

Pounder varsity beat Soddy Daisy 2-1. They played a full first half and had only one negative play during that span of play. The o line blocked good. They surprised me. Central was able to run and pass the ball effectively. The JV's played the third qtr and lost 1-0. No 4th qtr because of bad weather.
